After the funeral
back at the house,
adults gathered talking
in hushed platitudes.

While wandering the house
I looked out the window.
There she was, on the front lawn
by the blue hydrangea.

Rising from the ground
like an apparition...

GRANDMA!

She is the last person
I know
who went to heaven.

Heaven’s pale
Earth remains
Fog obscures
Ground sustains

Heaven is still
listen for His voice
to know His will
cratered in choice

Heaven’s pale
God sustains
Fog obscured
Life’s remains

Heaven is wintry
as it remains still
frozen like a sentry
upon the hill

Heaven’s pale
lines between earth
angels become blurred
waiting for words of worth

Heaven is placed on earth
frigid borders pocked
scarred pilgrim’s valley
sacred treasure locked

Heaven is pale
while we remain on earth
Heaven is still
there when we leave earth
Heaven is wintry
days giving way to spring
Heaven is placed on earth
so each valley is treasure unlocked

Heaven remains
when fog obscures
Heaven is still
to know His will
Remains still
Upon the hill

In ending our lives
We will never know
Whatever there is
That lies before.

It is the dreams
Of heavens and skies.
It is the nightmares
That roams at night.

Brave are they
Who tried to seek
Whatever lies
In the never ending sleep.

To my handsome husband,
You are the sunlight of my gloomy day
the rain of my arid May.
You are the bittersweet of my tea
And my favorite topic among the glee.

To my dearest husband,
You are my paradise and abyss,
The good morning and sweetdreams;
The language of my universe;
The sound of my averse.

To my greatest husband,
You are my ups and downs,
My weakness and strength,
My happiness and sadness.

To my dearest husband, till we meet again in the next life.

We are born without memory of whom we once were.
We are born exposed to the elements and incoherent whispers.
We are stripped of our power, if we had any before;
doomed to live life again chore by chore.

Why ask 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦?
when there is a better question to be asked.
𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥?
The afterlife is said to be so tranquil, so at ease, so overwhelmingly free.
But perhaps that's all a hyperbole?

Maybe the afterlife is chilling,
maybe we are confined to be alone.
Maybe there is nothing there,
just us floating in the abyss
without even a thought of home.

Or maybe until the day arrives where you're offered a choice.
Do you stick around for nothing or regain your voice.
If you say 𝘺𝘦𝘴, then you're off into the light.
If you choose to live again, you could make this one right.

Maybe we continue to mess up and never learn from our mistakes.
Perhaps death comes at a time where our creator thinks we need a break.
Maybe dying to just be reborn is a second chance, a second take.
Maybe each time we live, we learn, and then truly awake.

Maybe this life that we continue to live and relive is a test
and in order to reach the true afterlife we have to achieve our best.
So maybe we'll continue to live until we become like our creator.
And if we never learn, maybe we're stuck in this world;
to relapse, forget, repeat, not doing our own self a favor.

I'd love to sit beneath the cherry blossom tree
Although, someone else resides below
Their spirit will hold it forever

The grass I sit on is fertilized
by hundreds of human bodies
What is going on underneath?
Do the spirits dance, drink?
Celebrate their freedom?

All new faces
Each and every day
Such a small world
Wouldnt you say?
Won’t ever see me again
In this world of gray
For the world is for the living
So I guess I can’t stay

God made a garden just for me,
And He filled it with pink and purple peonies.
In this garden He said I'll never grow old,
I will thrive in a field of the brightest marigolds.
Where I will play and dance like a kid,
I'll be wild and free just like the native orchids.
In this garden all will be bliss and tranquil,
And my soul will rest amongst dazzling daffodils.
This garden grows above where the stars twinkle,
And is beaming with bees buzzing past periwinkles.
In this garden there will be no serpents who tease,
Only streams decorated with laughing lilies.
In this garden that I'll soon call my home,
There will be pink and white baby cleomes.
Up in the sky beyond where eyes have seen,
There is a garden God made and it's waiting for me.
