Depression?

Depression?
It's like a vacuum in your soul
Where you can't breathe.

Depression?
It's like disguising yourself as a daydream
When the nightmare is inside you.

Depression?
Is when you fall into the depths of your fears
And never be able to crawl out of it.

Depression?
Is repeating, every single day:
"I am fine."

I find myself on long walks.
I enjoy nature. It calms me
to be surrounded by trees
that tower over me.
They look like the large
giants that I used to slay
when I was a kid.
I used to imagine I was a knight.
I used to imagine my future life.
I was optimistic,
           I was bright

This cold walk brings me to a simple place.
A quiet,
            happy setting.

As the snow falls over head,
it brushes gently on my cheek.

At its cold touch, I am brought back to reality.

I am reminded
that these trees aren’t dead.
They are dormant.
They won't feel the same for months

I only hope that one day,
I can live like the trees.

I pray that like the trees,
I won't feel dead for long.

Ourselves

The nights that devour our minds
can't eat enough of our time
develops inside us
nothing left to discuss
but ourselves
almost like hell
constant agony within
something impossible to win
fulfillment of the heart
no where to start
no human can ever truly love them self
even in great health
no one can ever be pleased
with the sinful nature that takes us with ease
somewhere deep under happiness of the day
your conflicting emotions stay
to tear you up inside
but it's secluded with a simple lie
the very fake smile you hide behind
to protect you from your mind
the bridge of assessment
is always present
The inner self
will never help
Whether or not you know it
we ourselves commit
to the endless horror pit.
That we face day and night
attempting to fight
To try and stop this hell
within ourselves.
We are our worst enemies. Part of living in this fallen world.

Two strangers brought together
Like the unrelenting pull of the moon on the ever moving tide,
Like the revolving planets circling the gigantic sun,
Like the intense pull of gravity on the miniscule drops of silvery rain.

As they wander though the glorious world,
They feel a mysterious magnetic pull drawing them together
And they know they'll never be alone.

They continue their journey through vast valleys and over tall mountains,
Through strong winds and deep waters.

As one slips, the other draws them up,
As one slows, the other offers them aide,
As one falls, the other carries.

What would they be
if the gleaming stars had never aligned,
if their paths hadn't crossed,
if an unknown force hadn't brought them together?

But they look to the stars,
Which are in perfect formation,
And they journey on
Using the constellations as a guide,
To a home where they can dwell for eternity.

I climb this mountain alone
I require nothing but my own peace of mind
Along the way I found friendship that I believe will stand the test of time
Temptation has met me halfway up
One that promised to give back lost loves
But I've no time for empty promises and such
For my journey is not yet done
To the peak I must reach, and reach alone

I want to forgive
but should I forget?

I want to forget
but will I never forgive?

I ask myself
Am I too loyal? Am I not a ***** enough?

But to you, I ask why?
Your secrets are safe.

Our future depends on what you say next
I already know
I have known for some time now

Why did you lie?
It hurts you do not trust me to tell me your fantasies
I just wanted YOU to tell me

Why have you hurt me?
What happens next depends on you.

South by Southwest
You take all the light
leaving desparate shadows
that congregate down below
Your breath as hot and dust
a desert on the go
Your intentions as devious
Every motion shuns

Picture a rose out in
New Mexico
Withered in thirst
Strangled in weeds
that have no roots
with no sins to bear
No redemption cleansed clear

Catch the thorns
on cati high
As the midnight blooms
Let the blood flow
from the punctured wounds
From the soul undone
to the desert below .

Love Is....

Love is more than...

A feeling
An emotion
A romantic notion

Love is often...

Quite a challenge
Painful - like a sore to heal
Not always the real deal

Love sometimes...

Is lacking
Has no appeal
Is falsely based on how you feel

Love certainly...

Requires risk
Will not always be returned
Is a gift - cannot be earned

For without love...

We would not be human
But merely beasts
Therefore, love must increase

Nobody is...

Hopeless in a desire for its reach
For shattered lives can be made whole
Love can penetrate a broken soul!

Love is...

Not a tired, worn-out cliche
But not as carefree as it is told
A treasure I'd never trade for money or gold

Love ...

Banishes hatred
A state of being and mind
Truly, of values, sublime
