I could never tell you
exactly what's going on inside my head,
so I'll write instead.
Drown my thoughts in paper & lead.
Keep my hands alive,
and my expression dead.

I'm trying to be a good poet
Using powerful and beautiful words
A scheme looking like art
I have seen it many times
The truth is
I'm not there yet
My journey has just started
Words are not as easy to find
Writers block
The sickness of a poet
Too often leaves me struggling
The appearance of my poems dull
Without much creativity it seems
Yet every kind response
Everyone that takes the time
To read and leave a nice comment
I shall say thank you
It may be a long way to go
But you show me
I'm on the right path

There's folk on the news
on the tele tonight
and all of them
making me sad,

they're all of them
thumping on tubs tonight
and waving
American flags,

and it's not so much
the waving I mind,
or the sound
of tubs being thumped,

it's more the thought
that human kind
will thump them
for someone like Trump..

dating a writer
is like guessing the weather.
you think you know what you'll get,
but you never do.

you never know
because

she'll create a hero
from your weaknesses

and she'll write a great character,
from every last flaw.

she'll create a thousand plots  
from your worst nightmares.

she'll take every last thing you hate
and create something you'll love.

she'll turn your anger
into confessions of adoration,

and she'll make you,
everything you're not.

but worst of all,
she'll leave you wondering-
is it you she's in love with,
or things she's created from you?

but here's the beauty of it:

if you date a writer,
you'll never die.

When poets die
It's sad and true,
It matters not
What their bodies do,
The spirit flies
To Poet's Corner,
In Westminster Abbey.
You'll not see
Busts or inscriptions
For all the poets
Whose spirits linger
Alongside Chaucer, Browning, Spencer,
And a myriad of authors.
Dead Poet you have earned your share;
Dead Poet I will know you're there,
Composing in the Laureate's lair.

Never meant to hurt you.
I'm sorry how I've made you sad.
you've been the first unconditional
love I've ever had.

this has been more than you think.

this hurts me, as it hurts you
permanent ink like a tattoo
you will never regret

never forget
I will never love you the same
not again like you love me
and I hope we can be friends.

you mean so much to me
I yearn to preserve what
we have between one another

I am not what you NEED
and will never be
I hope we can leave each other

can be happy.

follow me into an eternity of
friendship that loves
and forget that pastime love
and the once pastime

I'd like to think I'm alone in the world,
Because when I realise I'm not the only one who's hurting,
I feel horrified that there are so many,
There's no beauty in numbers,
When you read the reason it's for,
Don't you feel a little sick?
There's many of us dying,
worse yet, we're the ones with the **gun.
