you waited for the moment
when everything felt right
and you've finally decided
that tonight is the night
maybe you bought her a rose
or chocolates, who knows?
you walk up to her doorstep
you knock her door
she opens it and smiles
like the other times before
your heart beats faster
but somehow you smile as well
her eyes twinkle like stars
indeed it's time, you can tell
but when the words escaped your lips
her eyes lost their shine
and her smile disappeared
when you told her, "Be mine."
She frowned and said, "I'm sorry."
and she need not say more
you know what's to come
you've been through this before
you force another smile
and say that it's fine
but it hurts just as much
as it did the first time

I can't feel my shame
But I can tell your skin
Far away

Close to my face
The glow is warming
I am revived

Sick to my bones
I'm all alone
Close the distance
Kindly
Plain and simple
That's my name

I'm laid on the edge
It's not the same
You're not to blame
Is the door locked?

See my frame
See my face
Quickly
what's my rush?

Bring it to your room
Are you alone?

Sick to my bones
I am all alone
Close the distance
If you could
Kindly
Plain and simple
That is my name
Sinking
down on the couch
the next day,
feeling upholstery,
up and down
rubbing the betweens
and insides of the crevices,
the faux leather,
cracked and brown.
The dust bunnies
the old gum
and nickels
are all that I find
left over
after we made love final
between cheap
flower-print throw pillows.
I want to taste you
feel you
bite you
be with you
on you
under you

I want hands
everywhere
holding
grabbing
pulling
closer
closer

the intimacy
I wish to share
heat of your breath
heat of your touch
I will never get enough
I want to taste the *** on you.
But you are too far away for me to grasp onto.

If love is not ***,
then what is between us?
There is an ocean of love
and I am completely
underwater
with you
floating
eye to eye
our spines align
two snakes, we slither
'round one another
sliding in sync
our rhythmic motions
breathing like
passionate waves of fire
bodies merged
in graceful form
flames licking every cell
of our wet skins
glistening like
the surface
of the sea

we are
submerged
