~
I am a cynic and
a romantic at heart.
My skin hardened by experience
My heart fearful of pain and trust.
Many have tried to peel away
my doubts and fears and
try to add colour to my
truth.

My truth is my reality.
And with that, no one can
hurt me.
So stop.
Please stop.

Don't look at me with
eyes fascinated, eyes with
pity, eyes of doubt.
My heart's afraid
and my mind's so
convicted.

You taste sweetness
from my sourness
and still...
you
think you can
heal me...?
~

This is an old poem I found in a very very old journal.
Wrote it back 2014-5, wow.
Looking at it now, I think I've gotten a little better,
but yet, this still hits so close to home.
Training the mind to be different is a lot harder than people would think.

To lose a laugh
          when the
          world needed one..

Where a grin
             reminisces,
             but now holds a frown.

But even when
           the eyes look down,
a word can bring us back around.

Today,
I asked my little brother
why he bought
the tape white out
and,
not the liquid
one
...
...
...
...
Apparently,
the length of two whole
strips of white out
matches the size
of a Megalodon
A shark
from
two million
years
ago

There is a class
Across the sea
That's small in size
With students, three

The students' names
And average grades
Are A, B, C
The roll-book states

Of the trio
A's the one
Who aces tests
And frowns on fun

The apple of
His teacher's eye
A has nary
Cause to cry

Kid C exults
In being bad
He signs his name
"Rebellious Lad"

His afternoons
He's proud to mention
He spends with teacher
In detention

A classic class
Don't you agree?
What's that you say?
Oh, pardon me!

There's also B!
I quite forgot
An oversight-
Thanks a lot!
A tribute to all the B students out there, I acknowledge your existence! I myself was never a B student (instead I swing violently between A and C) but I try to sympathize with them.

Death is the end,
Death is sadness,
Death is dark,
Death is light,
Death is the end to your short life,
Death is the beginning to your eternal life,
Death isn't the end,
Death isn't sadness,

Death is Happiness,
Death is your final rest,
Death is your second and final beginning,
Death is your rebirth
Death is final.

Sometimes,
Poetry is easier
Than socializing

Because in poetry
One can get it all out
In one go,
Without being
Hindered by
Social
Anxiety

Then,
People get to comment
Without being
Unable to listen to the whole story
You’re
Too
Shy
To
Finish
