pain

it's 23:53 and if i were to swear that this would be the last poem i write about you

i'd be lying

pain is a far more sustainable fuel than happiness;
it keeps the poet's engine whirring

and darling

all you've ever done is hurt me

00:01
i spent six minutes contemplating how much damage you caused,
the way you ran me off the road, swerving down dark paths i'd never known existed before

i didn't receive compensation for the emotional whiplash you left me with

the words "i love you" make my nerves twinge
i'm over you; but sometimes i write about you anyway, remembering the agony in new ways while my mind refuses to let me sleep.

Sophie Charlotte
She mistook the devils open arms as a warm embrace,
she knew no better
it was the first sight of affection she had ever known,
the embrace was not one of warmth but of desirable pain,
instead of letting go she clung on, inhaling the bitter stench of its flesh.
The devil dug its claws into her back,
breaking bones and tearing the muscle,
until she was its slave,
its puppet.
Slowing as it reached the most important part of her,
pulling her apart gently, touching softly, humming beneath its breath.
It reached into her soul; the warm glow radiating on the devils face.
It released its icy breath,
poisoning her from the inside, the warm glow fading into dark.
Her grip on the devil loosened and she lay back into damp grass, her skin wet with the dew.
Without the light from her soul she couldn't find her way,
she reached out frail fingers as the devil turned its back.
The grass wrapped around her arms and legs with dewy kisses, as she became one with the earth.
Let me know what you think!

Raven
Two hands under my legs, pressed against the seat cushion.
They’re red
like angry faces seeing lies all around them.
I hide what makes me tick inside clenched fists.
Black and blue on your
lips-tick, smeared on the wall from
whispering secrets through drill holes
quivering from rage
at the sight of grinding teeth
ready to bite the truth.

And maybe it was just your short attention span that attracted me
The idea that if I could hold your attention for longer than five minutes
I could maybe hold it for five life times.

She was constantly shedding flowers,
Falling from locks of hair,

People always stepping on them,
As they didn't see them there.

There is violence
In this silence
In the words that you don't speak

Accusation
In excommunication
That lasts for months and weeks

it's silly how were all the same
fragile friends with fake-ids
our eyes welling beer tears
each day
a new breakdown
desperate to catch a breath of each moment
while the world shoves our futures
down our throats
you see its a cliche for a reason
