Will spend my days with the doors closed
Caused empty heart of better than a broken
And if you ever reach to my window
I will pretend I didn’t hear the knocking
opening up to people yet being constantly afraid they will hurt leaves you with nothing but a closed heart

Another day, I see you aching
I see tears running down your face
Your tired eyes show what you’re thinking
But mouth is shut, no word to take
One pain is replaced by another
I see what it made to your body
There were some better days away
From this place, do you care to say?

We’re close, but barely close enough
To share your struggles with myself
The one thing that is on your mind
Something you would avoid each time
We talk, I can’t stop wonder why

I have a habit of not pushing
People too hard to talk about
Whatever bothers them on lonely
And hopeless day, I just wait up
My help is there if you would need it
I’ll hear you out and let you cry
I’ll do my best to make you feel like
The storm has passed and sun is out

It takes time to trust other people
To open fragile heart to them
Don’t push yourself until you’re ready
Until you’re sure I am the right one
Real friendship doesn’t know no distance
No time can break the special bond
It might take time for you to trust me
Later it’ll only make us strong

Can you live with the 'could of's'?
I will have to now,
Or not.

I could have kept you company when the world deserted,
The gift that kept on giving, per say.
Or not.

It's irrelevant how we came to be in each others space
I was there at the end
Or not.

We didn't ask for this
We both just received.
I hope the hands that were wiped clean
were fresher than the sheets.

I could have changed the world, yours for definite.
I could have scaled the charts, my star brightest among them all.
Or not.

Of course I could have brought shame to your last name.
Dragged you down and ruined opportunities
Doing what you did could be a new start, set you free.
Or not.

Did it make you wary of the world, every action and reaction?
every lingering glance curbed by memories in the stirrups.
You could add branches to your tree in the future
Or not.

one night
the other day

one dark
the other light

one cold
the other warm

.the sun & the moon fell in love.

they couldn't kiss
nor meet

they couldn't touch
nor speak

they peeked at each other
from a distance, so havoc won't wreak

they lived for a promise
that when life decides to compromise

.they too shall meet.

for the first time
and last

while stars conspire
and worlds collide

.they lived apart only to die together.

when i was younger
someone once told me
that when you have a dream
about someone
that it means they were thinking
about you
before they went to bed

i know that can’t possibly be true
but i’m still going to think of you
every night before i fall asleep
in hope that one day you’ll have a dream
and it will be about me
and you’ll know i was thinking
about you

This is the shoe where poetry lives
It walks with a tap and the occasional hop and skip
But on Mondays it drags a little on the way to the train station

This is the shoe where poetry lives
Ready to throw a kick but inevitably risking a stubbed toe
Harbouring the memory of a break and the months of limp

This is the shoe where poetry lives
Experimenting with an odd sock, denoting a qwerky outlook
And if you were to examine it's sole you'd find an uneven wear

This is the shoe where poetry lives
Grass stained from ventures along less travelled paths
And carrying scuffs from many climbed boundary walls

This is the shoe where poetry lives
And it sits by the back door ready for the next adventure
Silently jealous of the shoe that was claimed by the dog tonight
Where does your poetry live? And have you visited lately?
