and i may not be the first one who've held your hand on a late night walk nor my name wasn't the first one you've carved on a tree, but i just want to be the one you can't stop thinking about when drinking your strong coffee on a quiet Saturday morning 'cause it feels like you're finally home
—Things I Want You To Know
Sitting by the fire,
He raised a glass,
Whispering words,
Of his secret past,

A solitary tear,
Wiped slowly away,
Hiding the pain,
Of that fateful day,

As a curious child,
I always wondered why,
My heroic father,
Would sit and cry,

Or wake up screaming,
Soaked in his bed,
Telling my mother,
The noise in his head,

As I grew old,
I understood why,
My soldier father,
Would sit and cry,

He lost his family,
Not linked by blood,
He witnessed things,
That no human should,

Affected by the war,
Still to this day,
His PTSD,
Is stuck on replay.
Be brave
You already are
Look what you survived through
The wounds of your past have closed
The seemingly endless chapter ended
The dark bruises faded lightly
The battle left you scarred
And your still here
Be brave
I threw my darkness in a well
One wish, I'll never tell
The flick of a thumb
Splash, dream currency

An afterthought,
I walk with no shadow
Ominous spectres melt
Into the ripples of the deep

Quarters, nickles, dimes
Reflect the hopes of fishers
Casting out their demons
Cutting the line, thats a day
everything comes at a price,
living, friends favors and gifts
i know the price of these
but not the price of being happy and to smile
it scares me, so i do not allow myself to do either
Don't make a sound

            This
                  Heavy lit room
       Suddenly blanketed in
  Pure darkness
       Is
              The perfect atmosphere
        To get closer
       & steal each others heart
             To
        Strangle this
                  Ever growing
                                  Twisted knot
                 In Our Bellies
           Silence these fears

        Make us
                       Immortal

           Gather our sawdust memories
                & complete them
Accompany me
                     On these streets of stone
  So
            I don't have to walk
                                Alone
Really stressed
