 Nov 2014 greyweather
AllAtOnce
It's only been ten minutes
And I already feel like running back to him
But I have to stay strong
And I have to stay brave
Because I've needed to breathe for too long
But it's time for a rest
My heart deserves at least that
Right?
I'm sorry.
I wish I could tell him I'm sorry
Because I dragged this on for too long
And I was starting to worry
That I'd never get out
It's true when you're drowning in tears,
That's when you can breathe

Ever felt

Like drowning

Like it was easier
Than pursuing

Like loving
Was harder
Than living
recently
i think a soulmate
is someone
who will make you
be the most you
that you can possibly be.

You left bruises on my wrists and I wore them like bracelets
The slurred and stuttered words
I'm sorry and Never again
Always spilled from your intoxicated mouth
But your sober attacks on me and wrecking ball-like-fists
Always spoke louder than your drunken words
For me, dreams don't come
I must find them, create them
Or lay blank and stuck
She sat in that chair by the window,
Watching as life went by.
Hoping to receive the letter,
The letter that never arrived.

She sat in that chair by the window,
Listening to the sounds of life.
Clutching to the hope of the letter,
The letter that never arrived.

She sat in the chair by the window,
With the light fading from her eyes.
She never gave up the hope of the letter,
The letter that never arrived.

As I sat in that chair by the window,
With a tear running from my eye.
I wished I had sent that letter,
The letter that never arrived.
This is my first poem on here and I know it *****. In case people wondered the poem is about my Great-Gran, she had a long struggle with life and finally passed away in November 2012.
