To Smolder
Conar McVicker Apr 2017
Life, a spark in the black of Aeon and All.
Consciousness defining purposelessness
Before wisping insensately for an infinity.

I want a more vast definition
To halt Aeons call of vanishment and dissipation,
To bask in frivolity.
Making meaning for amusement,
Amusement for meaning.
Luminescence
Among fading stars.

All sparks must fade though.
So when that day comes,
I'll see you on the other side of infinity.
Burn.

The Long March
Conar McVicker Apr 2016
Dropped neath a shattered dream of rose and silk
My toiled self a strain at staying bright
I wept along the stones under the gale
And spent an eon weaping in the night

Now my rainy nights beget to days
But yet my road is covered in a haze
I hope to rend the fire in my breast
To dry the field and join the men in dress

My uniform is stained with soot and ash
And how I wish the awful noise would pass
It shakes my bones with shrieking silent still
With clouds a'building side my rotten shed
To turn the world all upon its head

But yet the fire wreaths my flesh in flame
And gives me cause to hold on to a name
To fight for self and other is at hand
I hope you never have to understand

A Journey
Conar McVicker Oct 2014
At the fire on the edge of the world
To be there, without
To capture life at it's very rawest
I see so clearly
Human nature in it's lightning passage
People tell you much
With some sense of letting everything go
Isms and eons
We spoke of warmed bones and creatures
                                                                      old
Entertaining thoughts
At the fire on the edge of the world

Caught
Conar McVicker Apr 2014
Web of spiders
Web of lies
Web of intrigue
Web of flies

Caught within a patterned space
Blind to coming death
Illusion made by fetid race
To steal it's own of breath

Motivated by a cause
That's miniscule in scale
Senselessness to their plans flaws
Will surely make them fail.

I think this thought a thousand times
To comfort me in rest
They just commit a thousand crimes
The world's at their behest.

Heavensent
Conar McVicker Apr 2014
A hazy morning light drifts lonely through branches
Shadows of silence cower undertow
Wilted flowers whose beauty lingers,
Rocky soil.
A thought of the past pulls at me.

Rivers of hot wind push me further away
Like breath, stolen
Lifeless and unending it finds me
The scent of flames

Charred thoughts linger
Hot futures come
Silent shadows scream
Cloudy skies ****.

It's like tripping, but only before you hit the ground.
Like being woken up,
With a faceful of cold water, from a lovely dream.
Like seeing a flashing light behind you while driving.
Like when you got that test back.

The reaching one doesn't feel this moment,
This tearing of reality.
Like you tore the whole world away and place a new one in my hands.

This new microworld,
Like starting a new book,
Takes time to enjoy.

How do you expect me to read a new book,
When i'm so deep into another?
Let me get to a stopping point.

The Machine
Conar McVicker Mar 2014
The iron gear's teeth,
Like that of a wise wolf,
Grip and pull at it's brothers,
Leading them down an old road,
That circles back around to yesterday.

The man who marvels at the path,
On a warm winter evening,
Doesn't see anything but forward.
Man is not a wolf.
Gears turn in place.
Forward leads nowhere,
Within the Machine

That Terran Voice
Conar McVicker Feb 2014
That terran voice
Has little weight,
Is slow and late;
But voice sooner
Trade all feature,
It had  a teacher
And is other.

That like a forest
Keeps all time,
If nighttime isn't
The death of that;
For time is miles
But the people's struggles,
Where goblin has lurked
Eager and deadly.

If that is never
A goblin's measure
Nor, began that;
Is goblin at rest
But when it drift
Thought shall not near
The oldness there,
And oddness steal
Her ceaseless shake.

Bread and Circuses
Conar McVicker Feb 2014
To whom it may concern:

Inaction speaks louder than Words,
And we were taken by contentment.
A powerful State.
Abused by those who will.
Against those who won't.

A bombardment of Distraction,
Covering fire
Stopping help from arriving.
From those other people.
Those others.
Somewhere.

If only the world were a place,
Where being content wasn't dangerous.

But it's not my problem.

Someone else will do something.

Yours truly,
         Someone

Mightier than the Sword
Conar McVicker Feb 2014
Tearing over white peaks.
Destroying in creation.
Chaos posed as order.
Mountains shift with its persuasion.

With meaning beyond it's knowledge.
Guidance gained from concentration.
Oh what purpose! What rhythm!
What beautiful destruction!

It lives in excitement and sadness.
It thrives in thoughts and dreams.
Creating something from nothing,
In a world that eyes can't see.
Conar McVicker Feb 2014
Within the rivers of folding Flesh
I spotted an older Man.

His arms reaching out,
Embracing a wooden City,
With few Trees on the edge.

Most of the Trees had gone.
Lost to the tiny blots of Human,
Building their tiny twisting City.

Along came a Dancer,
She too was caught in the embrace of the Man.
Of the City.

Her dancing awoke something in the Man.
His chest cracked and Sparked,
Her beauty more than he could take.

As Time tore on their love Grew too large for that Tiny City
Their whole World was consumed.
They held hands as their Life faded and

I stood up,
To place another Log on the Fire.

Breathing
Conar McVicker Jan 2014
I awaken once more.
The loneliness of my mountain hovel a constant.
The walls embrace me in their warm silence.
The wind blows around me.
My container a bubble of stillness
Perched upon stone and earth.
With too many stories for one lifetime.

If you blink the bubble pops,
Shattering the illusion of safety and solitude.
In a second blink the perch is gone,
There is now an ocean.
Six blinks ago there was nothing.

For now i'm in between a blink and a dream,
Struggling to make sense of things
in a world where nobody closes their eyes.

Where creatures assign meaning to the meaningless.

I close my eyes.
The mind as real a world as any.
Where thoughts bring me warmth and

I listen...
Above the dull hum of electricity...
Above the whir of fans
Above the sounds of distant people whose purpose escapes me
Above the screaming of the cold wind...
Above the sirens of troubled folk...
Silence.
An inner silence.

I lie motionless
Observing.
I stare into infinity.
I open my eyes and stare into another.
My heart marks time to a third.

With this i'm reminded of my luck.
What a perspective I'm allowed!
From here alone I bare witness to three infinities.

Among these I die endlessly,
and am born again.
I smile at the thought of myself smiling,
Living lifetimes between breaths.

Forsaken
Conar McVicker May 2013
A question for the sake of no answer.
A cry for the sake of a pause.
A prelude for the sake of the ending.
A death for the sake of a cause.

When will the people see reason
For enterprise other than income?
When enlightenment turns into treason
How will we manage to stop them?

Too great a task for the lone soul
Time is too solid to break
With darkness becoming the system
and too many changes to make.

When you must fight fire with fire
and shadows don't hide from the light
Besides assuming the darkness ourselves
How else are we able to fight?

Like a Spider I Drift
Conar McVicker Feb 2013
Endless space of constant knowledge
I use you leisurely.
Underestimated spaces,
Why does no one see?

The power that you offer us,
Impossible to grasp.
Answering all questions is
A feat of something vast.

The size of us has shrunken to
That of but a room.
With power to touch anyone,
Without the need to move.

How can I express my awe
At something so immense?
My feelings towards your endlessness
Are somewhere on the fence.

If we are not as careful as
We need to be well then,
The object of my fascination
Will turn an ugly end.

The power for it to do good
Still outweighs it's flaws.
Don't allow them to posses
This object with their claws.

Missing Thoughts
Conar McVicker Feb 2013
I ask myself a question
What question had I asked?
I don't know how to answer
I don't remember the past

I can't remember thoughts
Or looks
Or names
Or faces

I can't remember anything
But books
And pain
And places

I struggle with my memory
It seems to have just quit
I remember struggling with something
**** it, what was it?

Waking Dreams
Conar McVicker Feb 2013
I lay there waking
Ever sleeping
Ever simply dreaming

For simple dreams
Do seem quite real
When upon waking, sleeping

And what's to say
That when you sleep
You do not also wake

Some strange world
Among strange worlds
That is our own to make.

So when you sleep
Or when you dream
Or always while awake

Or when you see the other worlds
That you think your mind makes.
What is real and what is not
Depends on what's at stake

So dream a dream upon a dream
And make what you will make
Sleep while you're awake.

Time
Conar McVicker Jan 2013
What is time?
Time is progress.
Time is regression.
Time is growth.
Time is deterioration.
Time is beginnings.
Time is endings.
Time is everything.
Time is nothing.
Time can't be grasped.
Time can't be stopped.
Time heals all wounds.
Time ends all things.
Time is limited.
Time is infinite.
Time can't be defined.
Time can be experienced.
What is time?

The Plural of Haiku
Conar McVicker Jan 2013
Life ends abruptly
We all need the power to
smile until the end

Are these people real?
You only see what they want
Are these masks or faces?

Thoughts kept to ones self
Buried deep in ones own head
No one has shovels

Bones break, skin stretches
The moon glows in the night sky
Coarse hair hunger stirs

Walking across grass
Your **** count rises
Death yet nobody minds

I am very warm
There's a fire in the building
Someone locked the doors

Video Games (Eh)
Conar McVicker Jan 2013
I'm a gamer
The things I do
Mapped new worlds
Slain a god or two
Blown up stars
And lead revolutions
Gained experience
And Increased my Constitution

Drove a tank
A star-ship
A dragon
Killed a zombie horde
Drank some mead from a flagon

I've built cities
and worlds
and life
I've ended wars
and Famines
and strife

I've lived more lives than one can live
I've seen the work of hundreds in the span of moments
More personal  than literature
Old and I'd take it down but some kid used it in an assignment for his 3rd grade class so i'll leave it up.

Falling
Conar McVicker Jan 2013
Automn
Fall
Everything falling asleep
The ground's covered
Slowly decaying leaves
We pile them up for fun
Feasting starts
To keep spirits high
Creatures are saddened
A natural thing
The season after
Is often full of death
Long cold winters
Halfway through
Celebration
Not the original
Gifts are given
Not the original
Nobody remembers
The way we lived before

Horrorterrors
Conar McVicker Jan 2013
I gaze into the darkness
See everything that's still
Everything that ever was
And everything that will

I ignore the pull of time
I'm not confined by space
I arrive and bring destruction
And leave without a trace

I grin at death's foul hand
And chuckle at despair
I laugh at creature's horror
And smile at their terror

I dance on people's thoughts
And feed on people's dreams
I stare bemused at their minds
And peel away the seems

We sleep beyond the veil
Beyond the reach of all
We take the sentient life of space
And cause their worlds to fall

When Compared
Conar McVicker Jan 2013
The emptiness of everything
The power to transcend
The brightness of the stars
The  quickness of the end

Connecting the pieces of chaos
Directing the patterns of space
Creating something that isn't there
Our powerful human race

With size beyond conception
With darkness beyond compare
With sights that roil reflection
With planets full of air

Coldness one can’t picture
Heat beyond relation
Micro barren wastes
Sights beyond description

Before the great black holes
Before the stars were there
Before the rising of it all
Before we were aware

Timeless in its existence
Endless in its expanse
Thoughtless in its nature
Ruthless in its stance

Actors on the tiny stage
Invisible in size
They fill the place with rage and hate
And create a world of lies

With power that means nothing
The theater of our race
How minuscule our lives do seem
When they’re compared to space

— The End —
