You could no longer
  hear 'neath the winds,
nor feel watercolors
    in lullaby tears,
   for the torrents had come,
     as sun splintered
        and darkly
    shadowed spirits
            were cast by
                eradicated
                       constellations

~
This humid night lingers,
along weeping fence lines
of tear drop perspiration
peppered in glistening spider webs
and I am missing you

Staring up at a melancholy sky,
counting hours on the face of the moon
while minute hand comets
slowly float by in orbiting arcs
getting nowhere fast

I see shadows reach beyond
June bug buzzings
to far away borders
of maple leaf pathways
and cherry blossom whispers,

And I know this is
where my heart longs to be
as I walk towards the North Star
hoping constellations
*will guide me home to you
Good night beautiful

poetessa diabolica
Poet took a grandiose leap of faith,
amid a big swig of moonbeams
   dabbling toes beyond starry galaxies
Milky Way spun in translations
    Pluto still looked perplexed,
Big Dipper gave a smart **** grimace
    wondering what the hell was
   going on 'neath the stratosphere
   when human beings can't keep
       their heads above ambiguous clouds
            feet  firmly planted on ground,
delving lofty heaven's bliss
escaping the wrath of hell's fire,
  aggrandizing endless poesy that
absorbs sparks of a universal desire
        never phasing sun's obstinance,
but, if you believe in poetry
      there's no telling where
        boundless skies will surrender**

...and the man in the moon tilted on his axis in a
    backward's spiral and unabashedly winked

Gazing at the star filled sky
Makes the silent night worthwhile
These bright spots of light
Birthed from starburst galaxies
This diamond studded night’s canopy
Brings glimmering hope in my eyes
Chiseled with perfection
Lights are not going to shut off till eternity
Looking at the night sky
Is gazing into eternity in this lifetime

(an acrostic of 10W X 5 lines)

D-addy, like an idol, rarely closes his eyes...he is
A-lways patient...eagerly hears us...though tired from work, he
D-elights in our silly, lively, sometimes significant, or even stalemated
D-iscussions...he even joins in, and contributes to our childish
Y-abber........he's our idol...our friend...he is our DADDY!

Dusk comes creeping in
Shadows melting at the touch
Light softly fading.

Sandman rides the moon
Blowing kisses through windows
Towards sleeping babes.

Stars paint a picture
For those who care to admire
Night's beauty anew

There he sits.
The moon is in the sky,
like clockwork.
His personality changed
from yesterday,
along with his clothes.
Tonight, he's draped in stars
and showing only a quarter
of his wonderful personality.
How humble he can be.
He's playing off the light
of the fireflies
like a violinist from a conductor.
Look at that...he's higher
than the shadow connected trees.
My old friend,
you have a flare for the dramatic.
Observing the night....the other night. I always looked up and imagined the moon as a person when I was younger.

Had I told the sky
of your wisdom and importance
it would have taken the sun
and clouds and stars and moon
and draped them over you
like a canopy spun of silk.

words create a soulful like
to what is supposed to be
a picture creates a glimpse
of worlds beyond you and me
A picture, a photograph
is what happens, in words
when we let it
we express our focus
we never forget it
For in our hearts
such words evolve
from pictures we are,
as art
no words can describe
the scribble
that has been etched,
upon our heart

By the capture of the Clouds,
the Moon and the Star

in one such frame
we sit in silence
only to marvel
in very amicable thought
*we are as we are
To be a Moon and Star in a Cloudy Sky... don't ask why, just be :)

Strengthen these arms
for they only exist to hold up the black canopy
that is the night sky

May these legs find purchase
on this expanse of tilth
that has received the boon of yesterday's cry

Feel the cadence of my skipping heart
resulting in the breeze of faltering breaths
lulling you as you lie

Comfort the tremors of these quivering lips
as they whisper forth
promises of mysterious galaxies and
cryptic nebulae

These eyes would cast their gaze;
assuming the role of sentry
guarding from all who would pry

My being... My entirety was put here
so that your bed would remain safe
from future's winds come silent and sly
