poetessa diabolica
Wildflower 'neath a
     giant weeping willow,
         comforted by the shade
  her fragrance wafting darkly
      whispered into the wind ~
she'd been 'betrayed by the sun',
frail tendrils blistered
     of indiscretion below
            burning discrimination,
   fallen neath the cracks
        suffocating a delicate essence,
she could no longer bear the
   deep-rooted superficiality
         of seeds buried within *****
                    little implanted secrets

John MacAyeal
I walk these streets
Where my grandfather walked
From a town on the other side of the state
I walk these streets
Where my father walked
From a town on the other side of the country
And sometimes I can hear my grandfather shouting
Saying, "Do you think this concrete ever gets softer?"
And my father -- his son in law -- turns around
And even though the two of them never met
He replies
No I don't.

Daylight 4U2C
She never let the sun go down
Her eyes were almonds in the spring.
Her arms were always by her side,
And when we sang her arms would swing.
But by night her lips were flamming,
A fire burnt so cold,
Her dreams were utmost frightening,
And her stories,
Not mine to be told.
She paced through life like a diamond,
Roughed out to the perfect cut.
She didn't look down,
For she felt that the ground,
would soil her back to a mut.
I held her hand for a moment,
And she smiled,
So I released.
She didn't want my help,
Just knowing I was there was all she'd need,
But then she soon fell low,
Down through the ice, water; snow.
She fell beyond my grasp,
Her smile forever last.
She walked a path on her own,
I learned I must let go.
Its every nightmare I know,
When you bargain "no",
But there they go.
Off on the path that alone she paved
..and alone she swore she'd trough.

Ralph Waldo Emerson
Man was made of social earth,
Child and brother from his birth;
Tethered by a liquid cord
Of blood through veins of kindred poured,
Next his heart the fireside band
Of mother, father, sister, stand;
Names from awful childhood heard,
Throbs of a wild religion stirred,
Their good was heaven, their harm was vice,
Till Beauty came to snap all ties,
The maid, abolishing the past,
With lotus-wine obliterates
Dear memory's stone-incarved traits,
And by herself supplants alone
Friends year by year more inly known.
When her calm eyes opened bright,
All were foreign in their light.
It was ever the self-same tale,
The old experience will not fail,—
Only two in the garden walked,
And with snake and seraph talked.

But God said;
I will have a purer gift,
There is smoke in the flame;
New flowerets bring, new prayers uplift,
And love without a name.
Fond children, ye desire
To please each other well;
Another round, a higher,
Ye shall climb on the heavenly stair,
And selfish preference forbear;
And in right deserving,
And without a swerving
Each from your proper state,
Weave roses for your mate.

Deep, deep are loving eyes,
Flowed with naphtha fiery sweet,
And the point is Paradise
Where their glances meet:
Their reach shall yet be more profound,
And a vision without bound:
The axis of those eyes sun-clear
Be the axis of the sphere;
Then shall the lights ye pour amain
Go without check or intervals,
Through from the empyrean walls,
Unto the same again.

Close, close to men,
Like undulating layer of air,
Right above their heads,
The potent plain of Dæmons spreads.
Stands to each human soul its own,
For watch, and ward, and furtherance
In the snares of nature's dance;
And the lustre and the grace
Which fascinate each human heart,
Beaming from another part,
Translucent through the mortal covers,
Is the Dæmon's form and face.
To and fro the Genius hies,
A gleam which plays and hovers
Over the maiden's head,
And dips sometimes as low as to her eyes.

Unknown, — albeit lying near, —
To men the path to the Dæmon sphere,
And they that swiftly come and go,
Leave no track on the heavenly snow.
Sometimes the airy synod bends,
And the mighty choir descends,
And the brains of men thenceforth,
In crowded and in still resorts,
Teem with unwonted thoughts.
As when a shower of meteors
Cross the orbit of the earth,
And, lit by fringent air,
Blaze near and far.
Mortals deem the planets bright
Have slipped their sacred bars,
And the lone ****** all the night
Sails astonished amid stars.

Beauty of a richer vein,
Graces of a subtler strain,
Unto men these moon-men lend,
And our shrinking sky extend.
So is man's narrow path
By strength and terror skirted,
Also (from the song the wrath
Of the Genii be averted!
The Muse the truth uncolored speaking),
The Dæmons are self-seeking;
Their fierce and limitary will
Draws men to their likeness still.

The erring painter made Love blind,
Highest Love who shines on all;
Him radiant, sharpest-sighted god
None can bewilder;
Whose eyes pierce
The Universe,
Path-finder, road-builder,
Mediator, royal giver,
Rightly-seeing, rightly-seen,
Of joyful and transparent mien.
'Tis a sparkle passing
From each to each, from me to thee,
Perpetually,
Sharing all, daring all,
Levelling, misplacing
Each obstruction, it unites
Equals remote, and seeming opposites.
And ever and forever Love
Delights to build a road;
Unheeded Danger near him strides,
Love laughs, and on a lion rides.
But Cupid wears another face
Born into Dæmons less divine,
His roses bleach apace,
His nectar smacks of wine.
The Dæmon ever builds a wall,
Himself incloses and includes,
Solitude in solitudes:
In like sort his love doth fall.
He is an oligarch,
He prizes wonder, fame, and mark,
He loveth crowns,
He scorneth drones;
He doth elect
The beautiful and fortunate,
And the sons of intellect,
And the souls of ample fate,
Who the Future's gates unbar,
Minions of the Morning Star.
In his prowess he exults,
And the multitude insults.
His impatient looks devour
Oft the humble and the poor,
And, seeing his eye glare,
They drop their few pale flowers
Gathered with hope to please
Along the mountain towers,
Lose courage, and despair.
He will never be gainsaid,
Pitiless, will not be stayed.
His hot tyranny
Burns up every other tie;
Therefore comes an hour from Jove
Which his ruthless will defies,
And the dogs of Fate unties.
Shiver the palaces of glass,
Shrivel the rainbow-colored walls
Where in bright art each god and sibyl dwelt
Secure as in the Zodiack's belt;
And the galleries and halls
Wherein every Siren sung,
Like a meteor pass.
For this fortune wanted root
In the core of God's abysm,
Was a **** of self and schism:
And ever the Dæmonic Love
Is the ancestor of wars,
And the parent of remorse.

Ruzica Matic
greeting the morning
with spoonfuls of sunshine
in our bitter teas
we smell the earth
beneath the boots
of endless steps
rain filled
feeding the roots
of walnut trees

crushing daisies
between the pages
capturing breaths
in fishing nets
we glint in moonlight
silver and slight

Bows N' Arrows
White lilies in May faded to grey now,
Initiated treaties among a fray in the shadows,
All that's left embraced of the pure textured fumes is pale.
A lonely parchment reading vast memories and
Lore, intricately encased once demure expressions felt frail;
Only crunchy remnants
In an hourglass vase by the door.
Looking glass perceptions:
From the outside looking in,
Twirling round in a chrysanthemum bed.
This infestation is a shot of Novocaine,
Like braille on fingertips;
Manifesting an understanding,
From the heart through the lips.
Tuscan breeze passing along, caressing my knees,
Stinging softly like cotton-stitched-pillow bees
Cascading down my wrists.
Brisk taste of freedom.
Attraction comes back round like
A bracelet of Saturn.

Dani Jo
My hearts undone,
one by one,
plucked away until they're gone.
I can't pretend, I'm going in
mind unwind oblivion.
Forced by fate, I sit and wait
through the motions of each day.
The hope it fades, frustration rage
Long haul for the pearly gates.
Makeshift breath is put to rest,
it's what they call the life of test.

Dreams of Sepia
Fog
In this silence
blindness permeates
Leaves dance unnoticed, whirling
dodging death cars swirl
a child slips soundlessly
to the echo of nowhere
hands lose each other
seagulls do not fly needlessly
washing hangs still on a line
an old couple
small & slight
& bent double
feel their old way to one another
as if searching for gold

surpratik
girl of country forests
and dusty magical roads
and the calm on hurricane streets
a tint of pink
sitting on maroon carpets
turning pages of a novel dream

her pale hand on an age old paper
bleak ink and words,
pouring an ocean
with her dark brown eyes
penning thoughts
sending letters into the future

writes notes on sticky pads
in a library of broken hearts
where the rule is to stay quiet
to only scream inside
and just like the books she borrowed,
never let herself fall apart

lazy afternoon adventures
seeking rainbows and smiles
barefoot, feeling cold
on play dates with her dog
which apparently talks to her
when the boys in her school won't

now there could have been someone
who made her dream of a heaven somewhere
but he only took her to a really hot place
something 'hell' said a sign before the door
he let go of her hand, pushed her in
returned back and left her there

this was what she had to become
just like this lonely burning place,
she started within her a fire
a fire no one could douse
she burnt her dreams but never
the forest that grew behind her house

for in the forest, she had to burn
pages, words, letters to the boy
she wrote with bleeding ink
until she had burnt
all the dark memories of yesterday
and found her fiery smile in those flames

she couldn't sleep at night
while everyone dreams, her thoughts loom
spells on the poignant calm in the air
something magical, exciting about this darkness
and when she plays with her pretty dark hair
yet still it remains a lonely, desolate room

but even the night passes
a girl, now in love with sunrises
because even those are just the embers
from a burning sun, a million miles away
oh boy, she still loves a beautiful fire
and waits for a boy to burn in her desire

a girl who used to be the calm
has now become a storm
but she keeps reminding to herself
there are souls who still love art and light
so that's why even broken pieces, ashes and fires
can make a beautiful home

Corner coffee shop.
The world shoulders by.
The challenges of the day are on their minds.
Collectively, they struggle.
All are trying to find a place in this world.

Some seem consumed with God.
Others do not.
It is hard to tell the difference.
And that’s fine for these people by the lake.
Collectively, they struggle.
All are trying to find a place in this world.

When keeping Chicago,
You’re forced out of a comfort zone.
People, places and things; all new.
They are a lesson to be learned.
Collectively, they struggle.
All are trying to find a place in this world.

Kody dibble
Venus light shows,
Growing in turns and shades of,
Blanketed darkness, brimming trees,
and canopies of islands and such of doves sick cold and lonely

Music my soul can sing to the view
Grossly unfair and the rest of the day
I love it when you have a great way

The films of passion and people
displayed
Guilt's are yours
But bought suddenly like
Rain drops in an ocean
Of Light
And sunrise
Don't dwell on the past unless you
Have thoughts of a sudden urge
To be

Or have you been? Sitting there like always
A fume so entranced in the golden
Dawn
Life does exist

Rise with me from
the ocean water and
salt. Lift me during
the sunset and dance
along the shore. Lift
me high enough to
touch the velvet skies.
Kiss me ******* the
blue ocean's shores.
Twist and twirl while
our toes caress the
golden sands. Help
me make all the shells
watching us blush and
awe as they shout out
for an encore. Kiss me
while we're both wet
from the gentle waves
splashing against our
exposed tanned skin.
Dance with me my love
till the sun sets down
and the night
begins* ~
