Forty years in this old house
It’s filled with treasures lacking worth
To anyone expecting gold,
But priceless in the life recalled.

The warnings came a week ago-
A cataclysmic storm they said
Stock up water and food to eat
That won’t require electricity.

I laid in water and granola bars
And put some things in plastic bags
I wrote my ID on my forearm
Feeling silly as I did.

I moved things to the second floor
Assuring them of some protection
I wish I could have carried more
But the rain was knocking on the door.

It came seeping underneath
And as I watched, it soaked the rug.
Not satisfied with ruined carpet
It crept up the sofa’s skirt.

What am I still doing here
They said do not evacuate
So I am forced to watch the death
Of all I worked so hard to own.

I’s almost knee deep in the kitchen
Where’s my hammer and crow bar
Dang! they’re both out in the shed
I should have thought to bring them in.

It’s lucky I don’t have a pet
No dog or cat or bird or fish
Another life to fret about
When I can barely save my own.

The water’s nearly hip deep now
And rising at a hellish rate
The walls are shaking from the pressure
It’s time for me to move upstairs.

The rain’s a wall I can’t see through
I don’t know how my neighbors fare.
The power’s out - the house is silent
Except for the drumming of the rain.

My lantern is the only light -
How long will the batteries last.
Oh Lord, I’m starting to get frightened
Water’s coming up the stairs, silent as a burglar.

They said don’t go into the attic
Get up on the roof instead.
They didn’t tell us how to do that
How to break ceiling and shingles.

I’m old - I’ve lost the strength of youth
I don’t think I can get up there.
If the water keeps on rising
I must prepare to meet my maker

All I love live far away
Are they as frantic now as me
Will a neighbor come and find me
My cel phone battery just died

Still the ugly, ***** water
Inches further up the stairs.
The old house shudders in the windy gusts
And I can’t keep my fingers steady

I just wrote something on the wall-
A farewell to my family
They should know I thought of them
As water seeps across this floor.

I’ve broken out a window
Over the submerged porch
There’s no point in going out it
I’d only just be swept away.

The water’s almost knee deep here too
I know it’s never going to stop
It’s foolish to stand up on a chair
I’ll say my prayers and go to bed

I’m sure that only God can save me
Neighbors have their problems too.
I’ve lived for eighty happy years
It’s time to shake the hand of fate.

I wonder what it’s like, this drowning
They say you see your life again.
That almost makes it worth the going
Except the sadness left behind.

The bed clothes now are wet and sopping
I never knew I could feel so cold
There’s a rumble in the distance
Like a giant waterfall.

Growing closer like a jet plane
What do you suppose it is
Now the house is really shaking
And I can

(Dedicated to SoulSurvivor)

'Twas in early days of time,
In a very far away clime,
When there lived a man, Daniel,
Whom many thought he'd never be we'll;

When by flint-hearted men's wish
Was doomed to languish
In a peculiar lion's den,
Him alone without his men.

But, by faith's sake, Daniel didst vow
To the wicked he'd never bow;
But instead in perpetuum serve
He who dwells yonder skies above.

He thus lifted up his poor head,
And through the sullen night prayed.
Hark! He who reigns above ancient skies,
vividly heard his son's far cries;

He (God) thus shook his head,
And in a voice soft but cold said:
"Nay, nay, thou shalt wilt not to the wrath
Of neither men nor any beast's mouth."

At this, in a blink of an eye
Winged seraphs descended from the sky,
Galloping upon snowy snowy stallions,
Came and zipped all mouths of the lions.

This grieved Satan in violent fires of Hell,
Thus louder than a thousand bells didst yell
Unto his lions to wreck strife
Upon Daniel's meaner life.

Alas! Not a single lion opened her mouth
Despite their eyes exuded mist of wrath.
'Tis then it dawned unto Satan he'd lost,
Hence grew sad as leaves 'neath the frost.

When the dawn Sun was nigh, "Darius",
Who all night prayed by light of Sirius,
In a helter-skelter dash dashed to the den
To see what had happened to Daniel then.

"Daniel, Daniel, Daniel
Could thou still be well?"
Sheepishly, king Darius softly cried.
"Oh yes I am, my Lord." Daniel replied.

When Daniel's voice pierced Dariu's ear,
'Twas joy as joy could be to hear
That in a jiffy dungeon's doors flung free,
And the entire realm buzzed with glee.

Darius thus ordered blowing of trumpets
That quaked all mortal men and Puppets
Whilst everyone to Daniel's mighty king,
Sweet songs euphoniously didst sing.

May God protect ye like Daniel,
Whom many thought he'd never be well
When angels of death coveted his breath,
But gleefully strolled out of jaws of death.

Written on hearing some heart-rending news from a friend (SoulSurvivor) that her lovely Dad's health is not good.
I don't know which prayer I can pray
but all I can say:
"May the Almighty predominant, omnipotent, Omniscient, Benevolent Lord beyond compare cast heavenly protection unto him like he didst unto Daniel."

What a beauty of a flower showing!
What a fragrance of a flower mentioning!
What silence of a bud can offer?
What a dawn whispering!
What a dewdrop capturing!
Can You say?
It is not about You.
O’ my Lord!
It's all about you Lord

Give us now, our daily bread,
feast upon the staff of life;
know the peace of love,
that subdues all strife.

Know the bliss of joy,
that stems from Him alone;
that lifts your every burden,
from which you can't atone.

That removes all blemishes,
that used to bring you down;
that caused you all the pain,
that caused your brow to frown.

Be blessed by His abundance,
that never knows an end;
that shelters you from harm,
that comes around the bend.

Give us now, our daily bread,
the food that Christ can give;
the strength to face tomorrow,
the happiness to live.

Shining stars have got light from You
and started twinkling
You have bestowed night with stars,
Morning with heavenly dawn,
Flowers with a sweet smell,
Birds with alluring tweets
But when I saw my inner sight
I felt a **** and attained a divine light
And felt a bliss
So after that
I am unable to see
anything except You
O! my Lord!
There is nothing
outside of Your circumference
in the universe.

I'm unable to stop
Falling soft pearls
From eyes at night
You're not about to stop
Falling dewdrops in
The morning
O' my dear Lord!
Both are unshakable signs of
Everlasting love
And the morning star is witness

Rain Dancing
by
Jude Kyrie*

Do you remember my darling
we were just children way back then.
we played in the summer rain.
Dancing in puddles.
Splashing in rubber boots.
Drenched with happiness
in the summer rain.
I think that's when
I first fell in love with you.
I knew even back then
we would marry one day.

Remember we always
loved walking in the rain.
The olive green days of
our life my love.
You, Me. the rain.

Then the sickness came
you tried to hide it from me.
but I knew ...I knew.

It was too strong for the
rain to wash away.

I remember that last day
my love.
you asked me is it raining
I said yes my love.
It's rained all day

Take me outside,
you whispered.
Dance with me in the rain
just one more time.

Now when I feel
lonely and sad.
and missing you is just
too hard for me to bear.

I stand in the pouring rain
and I can feel you close to me.
And the gentle pure rain
washes away my tears.
Love does not always happen in sunshine

car ride,*
to,
your house,
to,
your yard,
up,
the stairs,
to
your front door,
to,
enter,
to,
step inside,
to,
look around,
to,
be leaded,
up,
stairs,
to,
stop,
to,
open the door,
to,
enter,
to,
wait for you,
to,
sit with my friend,
in,
your room.
to,
watch you enter,
to,
ask you about your day,
to,
be your friend.
but,
you, lay, down,
to,
pull, me close,
to,
not, let go,
to,
get, on, top,
to,
go, down, my pants,

take, off, my top,
to,
not, hear me, when I screamed,
**STOP.

I bow my head in prayer Dear Lord
and I lay at your feet
Those that suffer, those in pain,
Your children that are in need.

Your people that are preyed upon
are crying out in fear
Heed their prayers, protect them,
and all that they hold dear.

Touch the hearts of those in power
for they can end their pain.
With your guidance the sun will shine
and chase away the rain.

Help us to find our courage
to keep fighting the good fight.
May we choose the righteous path,
put aside differences and finally unite.

I have faith in you my God
I know you are the way.
Love can conquer hate this night
and make way for a brand new day.

                                       Amen.
