Technologically speaking.
Books will soon be fading out
Devices are what we explore
Technology will keep progressing
We are improving more and more
There will be another way too write
They will say no need for ink
Just press the words on your tablet
We have newer ways to think.

Now everything is download
And we are ordering things on line
Soon banks will be run by computers
The sign of these changing times.
Things seem to be moving faster
More so than the speed of light
Keeping up is very hard
When things change overnight.

Now cars will soon go electric
And no drivers will need to drive
It will be similar to a sat nav
We should never be surprised
Who'd think the time would ever come
Where technology rules this earth
Say no to political robots
That simply will never work.
Basically just a fun poem and exaggeration
Of some possibilities. not to be taken seriously
Maybe the moon for holidays in the future.

This Empty Field.
Gone with the breeze
With the passing of time
Nothing but silence
Only the sound of birds.

Memories etched within my mind
As I walk along the empty field
I remember football on the green
And walking along the river Cole.

Picnics on Sunday children played.
Cheese and tomatoe sandwiches
This field was filled with family joy
Those days have come and gone.

I look around not a soul insight
Things are so differant now
All those folk have moved on
And some no longer still alive.

So in my mind lie meloncholy thoughts
Those memories come flashing by
Memories of those happy times
Now all that's left is this empty field.
I recently walked my dog across the field were I grew up.
It was the days of picnics all my memories came flashing through my mind .

The old log fire.
Outside its cold the weather is bleak
Tired and weary longing for sleep
Sitting here by the old log fire
It's cosy and warm the flames rise higher.

Looking outside its starting to snow
We are staying here nowhere to go
Very soon we will be off to bed
Jack frost outside every ones dread.

Winter is fierce an unpredictable force
And we can hear it howling outside our door
Very soon it will be time to retire
As the flames slow down in the old log fire.

Now Dreamland is waiting we can hear it call
Let's say goodnight to the winter fall
We shall close our eyes throughout the night
And our dreams and thoughts will take to flight

Time to rest tommorow  will keep
It's freezing outside the snow is deep
Now tomorrow will start another day
And the old log fire will burn again.
Freezing cold last night the cold weather certainly helps me
Apriesiate a warm bed.nevertheless can't help thinking of
Those many Homeless in our town's and around our city's.

One man an his dog,
I got up one early morning
From a nice warm cosy bed
Retired and no more working
I took the dog for a walk instead.
Outside it was rather frosty
And it was only seven o'clock
I fetched his lead and took him out
For a mile around the block.
He can be rather annoying
He kept making a winding sound
And the cold I really felt it
As my feet stepped on the ground.
I don't do this very often
I just thought I would give it a try
I gave into this demanding dog
And now I'm wondering why ,
He knew just were he was going
And can see I'm an easy touch
He will have to learn and realise
That he cannot trust his luck ,
Now we've done our little journey
We are tired from  walking the street
Now it's off to bed to rest my head
And like he I'll go back to sleep.
Crafty pet he is .can be very manipulative.

The circle.
Come and join us
You will fit in well
Our minds intwine
We are all of a kind.

Let's make plans
And lets shake hands
Together we get on fine.
So welcome to the Club.

You have a face that fits
So stay within our circle
Together we all click.
Have you ever felt that you are not
Part of a click and you are some what left out of things.
Not a very well written poem but I wrote it some years ago when I felt
I wasn't part of a group of people. I didn't feel welcomed.

Fading light.
The door has no key to let you out
Your trapped in a web of despair
Your cought by the power of another
Now your broken and past repair.
You have no control you are boundless
You have no voice you are soundless
Floating in air you are groundless.
The hopes you had cannot be found
Great exspectations have let you down
Now all that is left are feelings of dought
Given to you by the power of another.
All of your colours have now turned grey
Leaving your dreams in disarray
All that you had has gone too soon
Taken from you by the power of another
What ever happened to the sun and moon
And all the stars that shone so bright.?
And all those fields you walked upon
They have all disappeared into the night.
You lived on earth in your own paradise
Now all has gone like a bird in flight
Taken from you by the power of another
Snatched away from your heart and mind
Gone in a flash then out of sight
Your hopes have become like a fading light.
Being Controlled by the powers of others. .

The Beach.
Sometimes we all need the beach
Faraway from the city's urban streets,
Sometimes the sound of the waves
Simply knock you off your feet.

To watch the children play in the sand
On a lovely summers day
Making castles with their buckets
In their little childlike way.

Sometimes we all need the beach
To be free from the hustle and bustle
Taking in the fresh sea breeze
Away from the toil and trouble.

The seagulls and their echoing cries
Seeking out a place to land
Many people are passing by
Heading for the brass band stand.

There is the wacky warehouse
Where you can have a beer or two
While your kids play on the slides
As they come in there with you.

Sometimes we all need the beach
To take away that daily stress
Relaxing in those deck chairs
Away from the factory or office desk.
Something to look forward too next year. Oh I do like to be beside the seaside. Just a simple poem.

Heading Home.
The distant, haunting trumpet sound
Peace came just like a dove
The fading of darkened clouds
Rescuing souls from war and blood.

No more we hear the country's call
We are heading home to those we love
No more we see our comrades fall
A welcomed hope from heaven above.

Those scars will never leave our minds
Here to stay and leaving their mark
Wounds they say will heal in time
How do we begin? Where do we start?

Very soon we'll be heading home
Away from those killing fields
To all our families and those we love
With beer, wine and home made meals.

The future will be much brighter
The past will stay in the past
No more fear of guns and the wounded
Just happy days will be here at last.

So let's march along with that trumpet sound
And let's salute to that peaceful dove
Say farewell to where wars abound
Let's celebrate a world of love.
I often wonder how soldiers felt when they heard the war had come to an end, and likewise soldiers in modern time.

Lovely display of wings.
It's such a pleasant morning
I'm not going to do a thing
I am sitting drinking coffee
I see a lovely display of wings.

I love these early mornings
My working days now done
Watching birds of every kind
They really are such fun .

The crows they are going crazy
There are thousands in the air
But the pigean on my bird stand
He isn't going anywhere.

Now a black bird he is gliding
In harmony with the breeze
He doesn't seem to worry much
He takes refuge in the trees.

What ever happened  to the sparrows
We don't see them anymore
They always used to be around
A little bird that I adore

Maybe there is a message
In the way that these birds sing
Take note of there morning chorus
And there lovely display of wings.
I live on a place called the wood and my house is surrounded by trees
And that means birds. birds of every kind.I sat relaxing drinking a coffee
And their were birds of every kind flying outside my window
Crows seagulls magpies robins and wood pigeons

A Poem for my Father.
You were there
To put me right
When I was going wrong
Times when I was weak
You were there
To make me strong.
You were there
To keep me sheltered
From rain and heavy storms
A guiding light that shone
From the day that I was born.
You were the hand upon my shoulder
The wisdom from above
And now I have grown into a man
Your legacy is love.

Highs and lows.
Never trust a smile it may not be what it seems
Behind there may be troubles and worries all unseen
Their thoughts may be like traffic in a large conjested town
Maybe that is the reason why they are feeling down.

So when you see those people that you love and who you know
Just look out for the body language and surely it will show
Forget about the laughter it may be just a screen
Take heed of that Solomn moment it may be a friend in need.

Watch out for all that pressure in a world of success and greed
That may be another reason why they never feel at ease
So never trust a smile  a smile can come and go
And don't ignore those warnings  beware of those Highs and lows.
So many people who are suffering with anxiety  And depression
And even suicidal.I am referring to people I know. people some times are good at putting  on a front.
I hope to awake on an open field
Where children play on swings,
Watching people walk their dogs,
And all those kind of things.
I hope to see yellow daffodils
In their thousands all in line,
Followed along with bluebells,
A blue sky and sun that shines.
I hope to see those people
The ones I used to know,
Instead of sadness in their eyes
Now is a smile that always glows.
I hope to see those animals,
Cows, pigs and sheep
Grazing together without any fear
Knowing they're not food to eat.
I hope to see a different world
A world that we've never seen
One with peace and harmony
The way it should have been.
I hope to awake on an open field
And I hope that day will be
With all those lovely people,
And my true love waiting for me.

Those Signs.
You danced like Cinderella
Smiling, looking fine
We should have known much better
But we failed to see those signs.
You were always playing to the crowd
Laughing all the time
And always forever joking
But we failed to see those signs.
Everything seemed so normal
We were busy with our lives
You always seemed quite happy
But we failed to see those signs.
You suddenly took up drinking
Drinking too much wine
We really should have noticed
But we failed to see those signs.
Now you're no longer with us
Things were on your mind
It may have been much different
If we only saw those signs.
I lost my sister 13 years ago to suicide, people can disguise their pain but if we look carefully we will see the signs before it is too late.
After saying that, it is not so easy to spot those signs sometimes.
Pleasant days are here
Waking at the crack of dawn
The sound of nightingales
With their early morning call.

So glad to be alive and well
Facing another day of life
With smells of sweet perfume
From the fragrance of flowers

Smiling faces everywhere
At one with nature's soft embrace
With every seasons that we have
From winter snow to springtime leaves.

So let us count our blessings
In each and every way
Let's not take things for granted
On this gift of a brand new day.
The good things in life we sometimes take for granted.
The fear and uncertainty
Is lying straight ahead
We have to face reality
It's a fact it must be said.

We live in a world of confusion
We see it on the news
And we are often disillusioned
Properganda is what they use.

The mighty they make us shudder
We hear them everyday
No agreement amongst each other
Just fearful words they say.

No wonder there's  addiction
With Drugs and alcohol alike
Predictions from politicians
They never get it right.

Many stop and wonder
About this Nuclear age
It takes one foolish blunder
From a simple act of rage.

Things may not be as obvious
As Destruction from a Nuclear war
Mother nature waits before us
She stands outside our Door.

The shape of this world is changing
But not in the way we may think
Man seems to be endangering
Many creatures could become extinct.

Now all of this seems troublesome
With a planet that no more could be
The end of this world is sure to come
When there's no more  Honey Bees.
Fearful times we are living Nuclear threats
And wars .But it is mother nature that is more likely
To bring this planet to its knees .It is said that without
The Honey Bee or let's say the little garden Bee.
This earth couldn't Exist. The sad news is they are in decline.
At least that's what the experts say.it is time to act and preserve
These little creatures not to mention other creatures.

Bedtime poem.
Here is a poem to help you sleep
On this cold and frosty night
Snuggle down between the sheets
Then just turn off the light.

You know its really bitter outside
But inside its nice and warm
With pleasant dreams now close your eyes
Untill another day is born.

Forget about the weather outside
Your sheltered by roof and walls
The temperature may just decide
To cause the snow to fall.

So here is a poem to make you sleep
On this cold and frosty night
Snuggle down between the sheets
Then just turn off the light
Winter is almost here and and the cold nights have arrived
I'm not a big fan of cold weather but it does help you to appreciate
A nice warm bed.and the comforts of life.

Give me a Ring.
Hi there all you youthful souls
Chase your dreams, reach your goals
Just remember I am always here
So far away yet so very near.

So go your way, do your thing
But if you get lost give me a ring
I am here any time of day
I will listen to what you say.

The days of youth are on your side
But the coming years will pass you by
So carry on, live your life
I hope one day you see the light.

This is your time, you have your space
Your chance is here don't hesitate
Life on this earth can be unkind
And that's one thing you'll find out in time.

I have had my say, I will say no more
It's down to you so please explore
Carry on, and do your thing
But if you get lost give me a ring.
There is always a listening ear from the higher source.
I am a father of 3 daughters, and grandfather of 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. I have seen them grow up, and have had many experiences of having my daughters ring me at 1am asking me to pick them up!!

Shadows from the past.
You lived your life without fear
Nothing in this world could
Break your will to stay alive
Those shadows from the past
Have disappeared into the night .
Your nightmares took to flight
Now you sleep with pleasant  dreams.
Your enemy marched with heavy boots
Through the town and narrow streets
Their journey came to no avail
They missed you in your plight
To reach out for those greater heights
Their ghostly presence failed for sure
And went out like a flickering light .
Their guns of war lost their use
Their planes no longer in the sky
You are safe now sleeping full of hope
Shadows of the past now out of sight
Do not be afraid of those who **** the body but cannot **** the soul

The wacky song.
There's so many wacky people
Some say that I am one
If its true what they are saying
Then let us sing a wacky song.

It's not a Crime to be wacky
Sometimes it can amuse
Wacky can make one happy
Such a tonic and that is true.

There's many ways to be wacky
With the things we say and do
It starts when we get chatty
With those crazy words we use.

Some people seem so serious
No wackiness in there lives
But they are not oblivious
To the wacky world outside.

So if many of us are wacky
And it cannot be proven wrong
Then let us get together
And we all can sing along.
Just a wacky poem that's all.

Memories of the distant past
Come flashing through my mind
Good times bad times even sad times
Are gone now left behind.
Years move on the past has gone
We move ahead life carries on.
And then there are those photographs
Of folk that I once knew
And all those faces from different places
Where have they all gone to .?
I say goodbye to those good old days
Those days of long ago
But I cannot help but shed a tear
On the melancholy  road.

Of my family and friends and my pet dogs over the years  Now all are no longer around .just a simple little poem.Melancholy road.

The Exodus.
This time they walked in line
Uncertain what they would find
Not a walk with army troops
Who march along in heavy boots
Not a walk with mortar shells
The road were many in battle fell.
This walk was the way to peace
Were all those wars would face defeat.
This walk it led to a hopeful sign
Leaving those horrors  far behind.
This time they walked in line
Looking ahead to better times.
This walk was a future crystal clear
One of joy and not one of fear
Traveling together at a steady pace
That feeling of love and not of hate.
This time they walked in line
One that will stand the test of time.
This walk it had no barriers
No enemy at the end waiting there.
This time they walked in line
That new horizon there to find.
Walking away from war torn lands heading too that new horizon
Were peace abounds .

Dream of Dreams.
Open your eyes and you will see blue skies
Accompanied by snow white clouds
Look at those mountains and trickling fountains
Leading to a brook nearby.

Look around you can hear the sound of waterfalls
And sweet birds sing their song just for you
Can you feel the soft breeze on your face
And see the leaves on the trees softly sway.

You hear the sound of people in the distance
And the sound of laughter everywhere
You look, you clearly see a fair
Everyone is welcoming and wish to see you there.

You recognise those people, you have seen them in the past
All those faces from different places simply knock you back
Aunty Jill and Uncle Bill, and Morris the barber who cut your hair
Everyone from everywhere, together at the fair.

But now you see a dark black cloud, it's time now to retreat
The picture now is fading your world is incomplete
You see, things are not always what they seem
And None of this did happen, it was just your dream of dreams.
The hope of meeting all those lost loved ones again in a better place. Although it must be said this poem can mean different things for different people. It is what you want it to mean.

The old house by the sea.
Inside the grounds
My heart it bleeds
A special house
Down by the sea.
A home for children everywhere
But now abandoned
With no one there .
It's sad to see the years move on
With those in need of care
All those days have come and gone
Leaving memories to share ,
Thinking now of those special  times
They were special times indeed
Now the house is past repair
And the grounds now full with weeds.
You see the times are changing
That's the way that it must be
Then that really is no comfort
For children with special  needs.
If this house could tell its story
I wonder what it would say
The past and all those children
And its former glory days .
The children now are older
They have grown to be adults
Living in a world of prejudice
Along with harsh insults .
But there's no need to worry
What will be will be
Still they have those  memories
Of the old house by the sea.
The old house by the sea was actually a mansion
Called Martinue house ,it was a holiday home for children with special needs from all over Britain.it was a beaghtifull house indeed.
It was closed becouse the councel thought there was a danger regarding the house being to near the sea.

Nirvana.
Long gone those false illusions
On painted canvas
With all those faded colours
It all looked good to the eye
In its own Deceaving  way
With those subtle shades.

Now another day has dawned
With those brand new hopes
Fresh canvas with easel waits
With paint and truere colours
Standing together all in line
Destination heart and mind.

The brush will go with the flow
Just like a passing stream
The blue sky looks down
And reflects its crystal light
Fountains of water turn to wine
Nirvana now awaits this time.
Nirvana means a place of perfect peace and happiness amongst other things that bring joy.looking back at some of my sixtys photographs

Diffarent Worlds.
There are worlds within worlds
Upon this planet we call earth
The poor and the wealthy
The strong .weak. sick.and healthy.

Forget the moon Sun and stars
And all those mystarys afar
It's all down here look and search
Open your eyes and see its worth.

What we need is a meeting of minds
It is a must with these changing times
Throw away those critical views
There's so much to gain nothing to lose.

So now it's time to make a stand
Let's hope one day you'll  understand
Open your eyes and you will see
This strange old world called reality.

Did you know we are not all the same
No need to bend one's head in shame
Some come first others come last
But there's no such word as second class.
The world is changing and class destintion is being challanged.
People today are standing up and being counted.
Goodbye old attitudes hello new values.

Saving Mother earth.
Our planet begs for mercy
There's fear of it going boom
The end of all humanity
Sorry for the doom and gloom.

Let's not ignore the warnings
It is written in the stars
This planet it is crumbling
From pollution and our cars.

We have to stop and wonder
Doesn't have to be that way
No need to make those blunders
We still can save the day.

Don't wish to sound alarming
But the facts are clear to see
Humans keep on harming
With increasing hostility.

They say that times are changing
In some ways for the best
Then the balance could be hanging
If we completely ignore the rest.

So never forget our mother earth
And the struggles she's  going through
Lets notice her for all her worth
There are things that we can do.
Rather a topical subject of late.

Our wonderful Mother Earth.
Our world it is so beautiful
You can see it in the trees
But just like a lovely garden
We need to remove those weeds.

We know there are many rivers
Along with flowing streams
But with all of earths pollution
It's a nightmare instead of a dream.

And there is the animal kingdom
With creatures of every kind
But the way we treat our animals
It's disturbing to the mind.

What about the Human race
We  only have one mother earth
We all should join together
For we all are of equal worth.

So just like that beautiful garden
And when all those weeds have gone
This world will be a perfect place
For everyone to live on.

That feeling of Hope.
The years they fly and time is no friend
And those bruises you feel will never heal
Colours may fade with the passing of days
And uncertainty waits at your door .
Long gone the joys of  love along with youth
Those memories leave many scars .
Then alas their comes a sudden change
From winter cold to a summer's day
Rising above like the mist at dawn
The future had turned another page
Setting the scene for a brighter sky .
Yes hearts can be broken but also repaired
So reach for the clouds you are a bird in flight
Spread your wings to glide with the wind
The past it has gone and is now erased
All that you lost has now been regained.
Those days of youth can be full of joy. Also along with joy can bring many challenges More for some than others .when love goes wrong it can be heart breaking. But as time moves on in most instancys things work out for the best and that feeling of hope is there.

Distant mirage.
That pathway to paradise with an open door
Where illusions can stumble souls
A cunning smile awaits at every turn
Within a feeble traumatic mind .
Deluding every step you make
Building your hope on desert sand
A whirlwind with impulsive light
Carrys you away to a world unknown.
And like a cork you are tossed into the waves
Now land awaits with solid ground.
Then truth will emerge to take you home
Reality  will greet you with her open arms
Then life will take its glories flight.
The deception of your heart will change
And erase the mirage from your eyes.
True colours will emerge again
And then you will smile for real this time.
Everyone is searching for that ideal but some times things are not always
What they seem And what we hope for .Hence not all that glitter is made of Gold.

Fairyville.
They say I'm away with the fairies
That's what they said  to me
Looking back in retrospect
It would be a lie to disagree.
My lawn is filled with garden gnomes
And rabbits that are made from clay
And children's books within my home
I have had them from my early days.
I hate to face reality a very sad place to be
I would rather read my Rupert book
With mad proffessers  And philosophy's.
So please come around  And take a look
You may like just what you see
A world with Alice in wonderland
Such a wonderful world off glee.
But this planet is not a fairy tale
And no place of make believe
When they say your away with the fairies
Take no notice then just agree.
My work mate told me that I am away with the fairies so I wrote this poem.

William 'Spring' Onions.
Beware, some would say
He is beyond repair
You wouldn't wish to
See him anywhere
Such an unwelcoming sight
If you saw him out at night.
He was often in trouble with the law
That led him behind those prison doors.
He spent some time within those cells
A place he called a living hell
For many years he would rant and rage
Until he turned another page.
Something happened that set him free,
He found his solace in poetry
The judge he saw a different man
Unlike the one he knew before
A second chance  that opening door.
He said goodbye to all his crimes
He was not the villain he used to be
He made his escape through poetry.
A true story about a villain in the late 1800's, poetry changed his life. He became a welcoming sight instead of the opposite.
His real name was William Onions. He loved to eat spring onions hence the nick name William 'Spring' Onions, the East End poet. A well respected poet.

Is roofing no more
He lost his balance
And nearly fell to floor .
The ladder it seemed
To to go higher and higher
A voice in his head
Said its time to retire .
Fifty years he worked on heights
Climing large houses
And on building sights .
But now at the age of sixty five
He's done all he can
And he still does survive .
Harry the roofer will find it hard
With all that time on his hands
Away from folk back at the yard .
Harry says goodbye to his friends
The ones he has known for many years
All there best wishes too him they do send..
Harry the roofer will reap what he's sown
His house is now paid for
And the children have grown .
Yes Harry known as a haŕd working man
He now takes it easy spends time at home
He has bought a new car and sold his van.

Traveling along without a care.

Before I turn on the ignition key
First things first its a cup of tea.

Then I am off to my very first stop

Then I drive to another place

Then I move on to Bordesley green
Memory lane if you know what I mean
What I see is the life I once knew
The friends I had yes I had a few.

Time it comes for a morning snack
A cholesterol unfriendly bacon bap
I swill it down with a mug of tea
And back on the road and feeling free.

I love my job driving this van
Done it for years I'm a delivery man
I move along to any piont anywhere
Just give me a call and I'll be there.

I travel east and travel  west
I'm your delivery man doing my best
Driving vans is all that I've known
And Birmingham city is my Home.

So when I finish and my day is done
Back to the wood I've completed my run
The van is safely tooked away
I'll be back again same time next day.
I was talking to a driver he told me how much he enjoyed driving
He lived in  four parts of Birmingham during his life time
And every day he passed were he used to live.So to him they were his memories.

Doubt.
He stands outside your mind
And will tear your thoughts apart
He will distort your vision
Then Paint your thinking grey.

When reaching out for hope
He will take that hope away
Then he will lurk in every corner
And will plan your every move.

He is the master of deception
And will convince you with his words
That the truth is but a lie
You are at the crossroads in your life.

You have two roads to chose from
The decision is there within your hands
You have the power to figure things out
And escape from his grip of doubt.
When I look at the birds in the sky
And the flowers and nature convinces
Me of a creator .but some times we all
Can be affected by Doubt,

Rising from the Ashes.
They Bombed our town.
And left it scattered
Our City destroyed
Our Windows shattered.
The plane's they came
Buildings start falling
People are lost
The injured are crawling.
Seems this is the price
For the victims of a war
Blowing up homes
Like never before.

Now all of a Sudden
That peaceful sound
A dove from above
No war to be found
This deadly time takes a turn
No more that dreaded sound.
Now we look to the future
With hopeful glee
And wish for that peace too stay
Let us wait we will see
Tomorrow is another day.
So as this war ends and passes
And again we will be free
To rise again from the ashes
A saddened price for victory.
When we look at all those towns and city's Bombed
And brought to ruin.It is almost like ä Miracle how they rise again
When wars come to an end.

The palace Garden grounds .
Sitting on a park bench
It was a lovely summer's day
The sound of all those seagulls
We were whiling the time Away.

The garden looked so peaceful
Everyone felt at ease
Relaxing laughing talking
Just a mile away from The sea.

It's name is palace gardens
And it dwells there in the park
It has a display of wonderful things
Like flowers and beautiful art,

It has a war memorial
Of soldiers who died in war
And has a certain atmosphere
One we've never felt before.

Maybe there's a presance of angels
It really feels seriel
If you were here with us
You would know just how we feel.

But nice things don't last forever
Soon it will be homeward bound
We truly had a lovely time
In the palace garden grounds.
Simple poem I wrote during a holiday. It was such a tranquil feeling we had sitting in this lovely park called the palace gardens

I remember Mr meadows.
He was known as Mr meadows
A man I knew so well
His past now left in the shadows
His story's he would seldom tell.

He was wounded in the trenches
In that deadly first world war
He was humble sincere and sensitive
Like no man I have Known before.

He was good and so kind hearted
He was there when one felt  down
And always around when needed
You would see him in the town.

That was many years ago
He died aged seventy two
He lived within his Bungalow
In a row of just a few.

Mr Meadows lived for others
He was never a selfish man
He would always help those mother's
Who would struggle with a pram.

Mr Meadows was the quite kind
He hardly would say a word
He kept his thoughts inside his mind
His fears were rarely heard.

You may just start to wonder
What's so special about this man
When you felt you were going under
He would be there to take your hand.
Mr Meadows i remember well an unassuming gentle man
You could say somewhat a timïd man .some people used to
Take advantage of his gentle nature.not realising  he was involved
In the first world war battles.I feel he must of suffered from the affects
Of the horrors of war.

Mighty Man of Mind.
The world imbalanced, you mighty man of mind
Giant creatures fell to your greed and pride.
You destroyed the human plan, now we are divided
Who will release us from from your chains?

Nature now in jeopardy, struggling to survive
Planet zero soon to be, intervention needed
Thanks to you mighty man of mind
Your bows and arrows will break one day.

There was once a picture painted of peace and love
Then it all disappeared at the strike of your hand
The power was yours given by higher source
Then you crossed a line and now your in decline.

So down you must fall, you must reap what you have sown
The beast of the field felt your domain, mighty man of mind.
So walk tall like a Philistine, it was in yourself you put your trust
Now nature brings you to your knees, on your sword die you must.
King ****** a mighty hunter of the beasts of the field then hunter of man. He relied on his wealth and his power which lead to his downfall and his demise.

The Lady in my Dream.
Our love was made in heaven
We sailed to the stars
The moon it started glowing
Together we travelled far.
You were the lady in my dream
You were with me through the night
One thing I knew for sure
with you it all seemed right .
You were in my heart, in my mind
With me every day
Then the time had come for me
With words I had to say.
"I have fallen in love with you
And there is nothing I can do
You're the lady in my dream
And dreams, they say, come true".
Then l had to face reality
never will come that day
You were the lady in my dream
But dreams just fade away.

He said the word Hello.
He wondered up towards the bar
He said the word Hello
An angry face looked at him
He recieved an awful blow.
He went crashing into tables
Then he landed on the floor
Glasses smashed and broken
His chin felt rather sore.
Those blows they kept on coming
One two three and more
He saw the chance and took it
He just ran towards the door.
The whole thing was alarming
He couldn't help but think
He was only trying to be friendly
When ordering himself a drink .
Then again he had to wonder
About that dreadful place
She may of  looked  a stunner
But her manner was a disgrace.
I used to be a live wire
Out every single night
Living my life in the fast lane
Heading for the City lights.

I used to go to the discos
Dancing with all those girls
I fell in love with one of them
She set my heart a whirl.

Soon after we got married
We had children one two and three
Then it was time to knuckle down
It was a working life for me.

We saved to get a mortgage
For a house that we could buy
Working on the building sight
Those bricks just multiplied.

We saved and went on holidays
With those summers on the beach
It was such a wonderful happy time
A break for a couple of weeks.

Now that was many years ago
No moŕe dancing around with girls
No more life in the fast lane
We are living in the real world.

Now our working days are over
We are older it must be said
And when it comes to nightime
We get tired and go to bed.
Looking back to the days when we were fancy free.
First it's the knees that let us down,
then it's our back and arms.
Next we lose our balance
and we struggle to move along.

We worry about all kinds of things,
paranoia is no ones friend.
Problems increase and multiply,
they just never seem to end.

Now our teeth start to crumble,
no longer the grinding mill.
We visit the dentist often,
as we have certain teeth to fill.

Our taste buds start to fail us
and we struggle with our sight.
We would love to go out in the evening
but we get scared when it's dark at night.

Do you remember when we were younger,
when we were in our youth?
We really were so happy,
our photos are living proof.

But now we are much older,
our youth is left in the past.
Those days we still remember,
oh if only those days would last.
Inspired by the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 12 .
Lets hope this storm blows over
It is looking rather bad
Its really so alarming
When nations get raging mad.

It only takes one foolish move
And all we need is one
Lives could be in Danger
And our planet could be gone.

Looking at the papers
And hearing all the news
It's really not surprising
Why folk drink so much *****.

No need to speak of dooms day
We have heard it all before
Then in these times of warfare
The enemy's at the door.

This storm it may pass over
And it could happen in a flash
Then the fear of it passing
Is the chance it may come back.

Lets hope the nation's all see sense
They have so much to lose
They know the consequences
So what road are they going to choose.
Sometimes we can't help but worry about the stability of this world
With so much friction between nations.

After the fame.
Round and round on the money go round
Your hopes they kept on turning
Those fortunes ran dry no wealth was found
It's the music game you were learning.

Not all that glitters is made of gold
And it's not always greener on the other side
You followed your dream giving your soul
Then your hopes they  passed you by.

your futue was sealed through rose coloured glasses
You looked at your world through a crystal ball
You thought your name would reach the massis
Only to find they weren't there at all.

Now singing your songs just to get by
You tried to aim for the stars
You used to play in concert halls
These days it's clubs and bars.

The music world's not what it seems
It is the nature of the game
Now your looking back on broken dreams
There was never that Hall of fame.

So when you made it too the top
There was only one way you could go
And when that time your music stoped
You were back on earth below .
The music world in the main stream is fast paced
Many carry on with music after fame.,Seen so many
Who were so well known who we rarely hear now but still
Great .It's the nature of the game.

Growing pains.
I feel I am getting older
Full of aches and pains
My body keeps on telling me
I will never be young again.

I used to be a drinker
I admit I drank too much
But now I'm reaching seventy
I hate the blooming stuff.

Now I am on the Doc spot
Every day I attend the gym
Although I feel I'm losing weight
I will never be nice and slim.

My wife and I walk our dog
We take him out each day
He chews and sniffs at everything
I won't tell you what I say.

Youth they say is a flame that burns
But I feel my flames gone out
Now if you were to see me
Well I'm nothing to shout about.

I wonder how my wife does cope
I'm beginning to repeat my words
And when I try to tell her things
She says I sound absurd.

So I guess I'll have to face the fact
There's no more climbing hills
For me its the downward spiral
So I'll carry on taking the pills.

The Band Plays On.
You had those good times
And some were bad
You were young and crazy, rather mad
All those things you did in your prime
Drinking whisky and too much wine.
That one hit wonder and musical blunders
Oh that Rocky road did thunder.
You toured everywhere, everyday
In concert halls you made it pay.
That was so many years ago
You settle now for smaller shows
In that strange old world called Rock and Roll
Yet fifty years passed, you're carrying on
Still singing all those same old songs
Just where have all those good times gone?
It seems those days have flown away
Now newer bands have their say
But they must never forget you paved the way.
So come on now, sing your songs
Let them see that the band plays on.
A little tribute to all those one hit wonders of the early sixties band who are still playing even now.
