I wish I was a doctor with
Cures of every kind
Helping folk get better
And give them peace of mind.
I wish I was a pilot
Flying through the air
Finding destinations
And taking people there.
I wish I was a scientist
With all those remedies
Making this world a safer place
For all humanity.
I wish I was a movie star making movies
By the score
Heading off to Hollywood to receive
Those film awards.
I wish I was a space man heading to the stars
Looking down upon the earth
On my way to  mars.
I wish I was a poet a lourette to be
But I am but a dreamer
So I am happy being me.
Summer days and heatwaves
Sweat pouring down our skin
Working hard no time to rest
From the time the day begins.

Bailing hay without a shade
Not a single cloud insight
Gathering all the barely corn
We work until the night.

we have a little hideaway
A place down in the vale
Its where we drink some scrumpy
Along with beer and ale.

We while away  an hour or more
Depending on how we feel
We rest and take it easy
No sound from the tractors wheel.

Now tomorrow is another day
Our work load it will keep
We may be striming hedge grows
Or we may be shearing sheep.

But we really are not bothered
We've been farmers far too long
We carry out our dutys
And sometimes with a song.

Our lives are hard but simple
We are living the country life
Away from the city and the fumes
From cars and such alike.

You see we have this hideaway
A little place down in the vale
So come along and join us
At the end of a farmers day
Feeling the affects of the British heatwave
Made me feel just how  it must  be for the farmers with all the heat.
Round and round on the money go round
Your hopes they kept on turning
Those fortunes ran dry no wealth was found
It's the music game you were learning.

Not all that glitters is made of gold
And it's not always greener on the other side
You followed your dream giving your soul
Then your hopes they  passed you by.

your futue was sealed through rose coloured glasses
You looked at your world through a crystal ball
You thought your name would reach the massis
Only to find they weren't there at all.

Now singing your songs just to get by
You tried to aim for the stars
You used to play in concert halls
These days it's clubs and bars.

The music world's not what it seems
It is the nature of the game
Now your looking back on broken dreams
There was never that Hall of fame.

So when you made it too the top
There was only one way you could go
And when that time your music stoped
You were back on earth below .
The music world in the main stream is fast paced
Many carry on with music after fame.,Seen so many
Who were so well known who we rarely hear now but still
Great .It's the nature of the game.
Two soldiers as they walk
Lamenting with much despair
Far away from that deadly grip
Of fear and deprivation
For every person everywhere
In every country tribe and nation.

Disposing of those clothes they wore
Casting away without hesitation
Removing reminders of that deadly war
Making mends and new relations
Building a world like never before
With tears of joy on this special occasion.

Two soldiers whose lives were on the line
Head towards a brand new day
They raise their hopes for the very first time
Since they were detained so far away
Behind those enemy lines
Celebrating better times and future days .

Two soldiers together in company
Telling tales of those fearsome times
Happy now they are safe and free
With parties and gatherings in the street
Time now to raise a glass of wine
Alive and standing on there feet .

So long you guns and bombs
Upon this earth you did not belong
You created a world of fear
But now those days are dead and gone
And peace time now is here
Let's hope one day the world will stand as one.
All can be lost when nations divide
It can lead to the loss of this thing called faith
We take a chance on staying alive
But it all could end in a world of hate.
When seeing people living on the street
Arms reaching out with empty plates
Struggling each day to make ends meet
Where the poverty net decides there fate.
And then we see the rich and the famous
They are making it big and living a dream
Even those dreams can often be aimless
For fame and fortune is not what it seems.
Our minds can turn to empty thoughts
And dought it seems are the seeds we sow
We often ignore what religion has tought
Saying tell us just how do we know.?
Dought creeps in our minds once more
Making our hopes to lose its flow
Now there's no goal to be aiming for
And their is no place for us to go
This is a hypothetical poem
A lot of folk I know look at all the wars
And poverty and Homeless and say
If there is a god why doesn't he stop all of this
Hence we can often feel their is no hope.
Not all of us feel this way it's just how some of us may feel
Some will say mankind brings it on himself.
Just a thought I wish not to offend anyone.
We all have a view point.
You were there
To put me right
When I was going wrong
Times when I was weak
You were there
To make me strong.
You were there
To keep me sheltered
From rain and heavy storms
A guiding light that shone
From the day that I was born.
You were the hand upon my shoulder
The wisdom from above
And now I have grown into a man
Your legacy is love.
Those Giants seem so harmless now
They don't bother me any more
They used to be So scary
When they entered through my door.

Those Giants they were very strong
They could crush me with one hand
But when they see me falling
These days they help me stand.

One time I battled with Giants
They were far much bigger than me
Now  they are very gentle
And they fill my heart with glee.

Have you ever battled with Giants
In there many shapes and forms
It's said they have always been there
From the day that we were born.

They say there are no Giants
Well not in a literal way
They come in the form of obsticles
And they are with us every day.

Giants they can be beaton
And we can bring them to there knees
And when they are defeated
They become as gentle as the breeze.
We all are faced with Giantlike situations in our lives .
What a relief when we overcome them in there many shapes and forms.
I love to watch the honeybees
With there gentle tiny wings
It is lovely to see birds in trees
And to listen to the way they sing.

I love to watch the ducks in water
Paddling along with there young in line
They walk on roads and never falter
Oblivious to this thing called time.

I love to hear the seagulls sguarking
When walking along a sandy beach
Making such noise when we are talking
But they don't care they are out of reach.

I love to see the red red robin
A single bird that never fly's with a swarm
I love to watch them hop hop hopping
At winter time whilst I'm in the warm.

I love to watch  the butterflies
In colour with there distinctive features
And see them when they multiply
Along with those beautiful heavenly creatures.
Another morning in my garden with birds of every kind
A simple poem .although not so much the honeybees and butterflies
I just thought they were applicable to this poem.
Here is a poem to help you sleep
On this cold and frosty night
Snuggle down between the sheets
Then just turn off the light.

You know its really bitter outside
But inside its nice and warm
With pleasant dreams now close your eyes
Untill another day is born.

Forget about the weather outside
Your sheltered by roof and walls
The temperature may just decide
To cause the snow to fall.

So here is a poem to make you sleep
On this cold and frosty night
Snuggle down between the sheets
Then just turn off the light
Winter is almost here and and the cold nights have arrived
I'm not a big fan of cold weather but it does help you to appreciate
A nice warm bed.and the comforts of life.
Not all was what it seemed
Those dreams were never real
The night lights shone
Then faded like the moon.

City streets were crowded
People busy with there lives
All seemed normal to the eye
Who could see behind the scene.

1938 crowded parks and beaches full
Ice cream stands and punch and Judy men
Normality was all that children knew
Family's made plans unaware of what lay ahead.

Summer days flowers displayed there colours
Work for dad.and children going to school
Christmas time and snow covering the ground
Another festive time was there with celebrations.

The summer time of 39 stormy days ahead
Young boys 18 plus answered to the country's call
Not realising adventure was never there at all
They lied about their age .in search of that adventure.

So six long years they fought and died
The survivers came home with open eyes
Seeing the world for what it was there youth denied.
The storm now over they now faced the calm.

Time to move on now the war days had gone
They found work and learned a trade
Those night lights shone once more
And the city streets filled with happy times again.

1945 the years move on the past now history
It was a time to rebuild a future of hope
And to find the will to carry on
Back too the beeches sands and the ice cream man.
I saw a documentary showing how it was just before
The second world war .People seemed to live normal lives
Holliday's on the beech enjoying city life carrying on life as normal
Unaware how things could change so fast.
We need to build a bridge
Across this great divide
It's time now to forgive
And forget this foolish pride.

A simple word of anger
Can be like a sinking ship
Let's bail out that anchor
We need to get a grip.

Now it's time to do our best
And try and make amends
Forget about those past regrets
Families should all be friends.

Just one thing we failed to see
We had those happy days
And happiness it still would be
If rage didn't step in the way.

So that is all that can be said
Let's make the matter shine
Beneath the bridge is ruby red
And the water is our bloodline.
Families often fall out over silly things
But it seems make things right on a later time.
That's what its like with the Bloodline.
Round and round this racing
Hound keeps running
Win or lose, there's good news coming.
Kind hearts play a part and soon
He will start a life worth living.
Now freedom is near, no more fear
His deliverance is clear to see.
Far away from that ruthless sport
Where many support it's industry.
He was born to run, not to race
Running for fun, not for bait.
He will live with those who really care
A lovely abode in which to share.
No sight of race tracks anywhere
Just fields where he is free to roam
He will live his life without a care
Free and safe in a place called home.
Many are working to end greyhound racing.
The chains have now been broken
From this place of no return
Your voice still echoes to this day
In the corridoors of our minds ,
Destiny now stands in wait
You took away our joy
But now the tide has turned
from your cold world now outside.
Your words they have faded
Along with your demands
Now you have gone the pain will heal ,
Those grusome cells they  are open
We will leave those days behind
You have no hold of  the fears
You created deep inside ,
Your doors have closed for the last time
Freedom is there and we move on
Far away from your prison bars.
That feeling of being set free from oppression
In its many forms .
Lost within those desert sands
Trenches deep on war torn land
Uncertain days .now fear abounds
We're guns and bombs the only sound.
Children hungry with not much to eat
Walking on streets no shoes on their feet.

Young folk are so disillusioned
Within a world faced with confusion
Promises that never come true
What's mankind supposed to do
Let's hope one day this story will pass
And peace and love will forever last.

Now it seems we have to stop and think
For life as we know it is on the brink
Let us see if the tide will turn
And hope that lessons will soon be learned
Those foggy times for now are here
We hope one day the fog will clear.

Let's stop for a while and take controll
Now possitive thoughts must be our goal
No longer fill our minds with fear
There is a light that's very near
The picture now paints better things
Like beautiful flowers and butterfly wings.
We are heading for the Cotswolds
Just two hour drive from home
We have hired a little cottage
Built from Cotswold stone.

We'll be staying in a village
With a shop a church and a pub
A beautiful little getaway
Where no ones in a rush.

If you've never been to the cotswalds
And seen its surrounding towns
With all its lovely walkways
It is a joy to look around.

There's lots of lovely villages
And so many country lanes
We never have to travel far
No need for busses and trains.

We are going to take it easy
We are here for just one week
Then it's back to the hustle and bustle
With the city and busy streets
The Cotswalds a lovely part of the British countryside.
There are worlds within worlds
Upon this planet we call earth
The poor and the wealthy
The strong .weak. sick.and healthy.

Forget the moon Sun and stars
And all those mystarys afar
It's all down here look and search
Open your eyes and see its worth.

What we need is a meeting of minds
It is a must with these changing times
Throw away those critical views
There's so much to gain nothing to lose.

So now it's time to make a stand
Let's hope one day you'll  understand
Open your eyes and you will see
This strange old world called reality.

Did you know we are not all the same
No need to bend one's head in shame
Some come first others come last
But there's no such word as second class.
The world is changing and class destintion is being challanged.
People today are standing up and being counted.
Goodbye old attitudes hello new values.
That pathway to paradise with an open door
Where illusions can stumble souls
A cunning smile awaits at every turn
Within a feeble traumatic mind .
Deluding every step you make
Building your hope on desert sand
A whirlwind with impulsive light
Carrys you away to a world unknown.
And like a cork you are tossed into the waves
Now land awaits with solid ground.
Then truth will emerge to take you home
Reality  will greet you with her open arms
Then life will take its glories flight.
The deception of your heart will change
And erase the mirage from your eyes.
True colours will emerge again
And then you will smile for real this time.
Everyone is searching for that ideal but some times things are not always
What they seem And what we hope for .Hence not all that glitter is made of Gold.
He stands outside your mind
And will tear your thoughts apart
He will distort your vision
Then Paint your thinking grey.

When reaching out for hope
He will take that hope away
Then he will lurk in every corner
And will plan your every move.

He is the master of deception
And will convince you with his words
That the truth is but a lie
You are at the crossroads in your life.

You have two roads to chose from
The decision is there within your hands
You have the power to figure things out
And escape from his grip of doubt.
When I look at the birds in the sky
And the flowers and nature convinces
Me of a creator .but some times we all
Can be affected by Doubt,
The sun never shines
in downtown
Theres no merry go round
Nor the sweetest sound
in downtown .
There's no pleasant air
And nobody cares
lifes so unfair
  in downtown.
Such an unwelcoming sight
When your out  at night
Walking the streets brings no delight
Your caught in a trap and can't take to flight
in downtown.
There are no bars or  sound of cars
All you have are many scars
  in downtown .
Now this is the news
That can help you through
There is a way out of downtown
For there's not such a place
you need not fear nor dread
Its just those thoughts inside your head.
If we are honist with ourselves I feel we all have
been in that town sometime or another if not often.
Open your eyes and you will see blue skies
Accompanied by snow white clouds
Look at those mountains and trickling fountains
Leading to a brook nearby.

Look around you can hear the sound of waterfalls
And sweet birds sing their song just for you
Can you feel the soft breeze on your face
And see the leaves on the trees softly sway.

You hear the sound of people in the distance
And the sound of laughter everywhere
You look, you clearly see a fair
Everyone is welcoming and wish to see you there.

You recognise those people, you have seen them in the past
All those faces from different places simply knock you back
Aunty Jill and Uncle Bill, and Morris the barber who cut your hair
Everyone from everywhere, together at the fair.

But now you see a dark black cloud, it's time now to retreat
The picture now is fading your world is incomplete
You see, things are not always what they seem
And None of this did happen, it was just your dream of dreams.
The hope of meeting all those lost loved ones again in a better place. Although it must be said this poem can mean different things for different people. It is what you want it to mean.
Do the best for your children
Take them to the beach
Give them all the love they need
While they're still within your reach.

They'll be grown before you know it
They will leave and go there way
Just think of those lovely moments
And those wonderful happy days.

Now you will see them drifting
Like a ship sailing out to sea
It's sad to see this happen
But its the way it has to be.

A home is what you make it
And you can only do your best
Provide for all there every need
It's down to them to do the rest.

You know you will always worry
That is what all parants do
So go ahead and care for them
And just hope they will remember you.
My friend Harry put all his trust
In all his words when he drank too much
Now he is sober and wonders why
He drank and drank the bottle dry.

Foolish he was to drop his guard
Forgetting it now is very hard
He started off with just one taste
He carried on and spoke in haste.

But now he has learned his lesson well
And this advice he wishes to tell
Be care full my friends when you've had a few
You just don't know who you are talking too.
It happens,
Almost there we can see Dry land
An open door from a helping hand
All those years in that deadly trap
We are moving on no turning back .
The future seems much brighter now
It's time to smile and stand up proud .
The past it seems has left its mark
But there's always light after dark.
So now we see new pastures green
No more nightmares, only dreams.
We took a chance standing on the ledge
Risking our lives close to the edge
We know that there are many more
Who are heading for that opened door
So come on friends and take that hand
And let it help you find dry land.
Alcohol  addiction  is common  with  all kinds of people even doctors and .
The good news is many do recover and find dry land .
The door has no key to let you out
Your trapped in a web of despair
Your cought by the power of another
Now your broken and past repair.
You have no control you are boundless
You have no voice you are soundless
Floating in air you are groundless.
The hopes you had cannot be found
Great exspectations have let you down
Now all that is left are feelings of dought
Given to you by the power of another.
All of your colours have now turned grey
Leaving your dreams in disarray
All that you had has gone too soon
Taken from you by the power of another
What ever happened to the sun and moon
And all the stars that shone so bright.?
And all those fields you walked upon
They have all disappeared into the night.
You lived on earth in your own paradise
Now all has gone like a bird in flight
Taken from you by the power of another
Snatched away from your heart and mind
Gone in a flash then out of sight
Your hopes have become like a fading light.
Being Controlled by the powers of others. .
They say I'm away with the fairies
That's what they said  to me
Looking back in retrospect
It would be a lie to disagree.
My lawn is filled with garden gnomes
And rabbits that are made from clay
And children's books within my home
I have had them from my early days.
I hate to face reality a very sad place to be
I would rather read my Rupert book
With mad proffessers  And philosophy's.
So please come around  And take a look
You may like just what you see
A world with Alice in wonderland
Such a wonderful world off glee.
But this planet is not a fairy tale
And no place of make believe
When they say your away with the fairies
Take no notice then just agree.
My work mate told me that I am away with the fairies so I wrote this poem.
Take good care of the elderly
Keep them free from the cold
Give them a ring and you will see
Their worries will unfold.

They may be concerned about eating
And all their daily needs
Don't forget about their heating
And all there anxieties

We are living in times of hardship
And many are feeling down
So hold out your hand of friendship
Let them know you are around.

When they were in there infancy
They never worried about a thing
Never could they  ever see
Just what this world would bring.

Now there's something that is beautiful
And its a wonderful thing to be told
Lets say to the aged and vunerable
You are far more precious than gold.
There's lots of elderly who are lonely and many can be forgotten .
Well in reality we may not say to the elderly they are far more precious than gold. Maybe we can show it.It's just a thought. Ecclesiastes chapter   12 ;1-14.
Lost in a state of confusion
Along with those winding roads
Fighting against the raging tide
Trapped in this place inside.
Those demons in your head
They are playing tricks again
But never underestimate your strength
Your down though you will survive.
Now you can blossom like flowers
For now your lost in disaray
And you walk that winding road
Just where are you heading too
No one can say for nobody knows.
Lets hope one day you'll find
That path you've been looking for
And reach out for that sunny sky
And leave those dark clouds behind.
A simple little poem about a not so simple time in life
Called adalesanc.
Simply go backwards
Is as simple as saying
Forwards !
If we go backwards
Then how can we go forwards ?

Is not forwards the way
We should go
By putting one foot
In front of the other.

Do we want to go
Backwards
For we have done
All things before
Been to all the places
And seen all the people
Before
So why do we need
To go backwards at all.
Written bye wife my Valerie non rhyming.
Sunday evening, it's time to sleep
Monday starts another week
Tuesday I am out with a swing
Hard at work doing my thing,
Wednesday I am working late
Carrying bricks for a house to make.
On this ladder climbing high
When I come down I'll take a break ,
I hope this day will soon pass by
Those building bricks just multiply,
Wow! Thursday now is getting near
One more night then Friday's here
I am thinking of that ice cold beer
Raising a glass giving a cheer,
I hope this day will soon fly by
On Friday night's my mouth gets dry
When in the pub I put things right
Away with the fairies all of the night
Monday morning it will keep
Then off to work for another week,
For now I am in this pub so nice
It's my Friday night in paradise
I used to be a live wire
Out every single night
Living my life in the fast lane
Heading for the City lights.

I used to go to the discos
Dancing with all those girls
I fell in love with one of them
She set my heart a whirl.

Soon after we got married
We had children one two and three
Then it was time to knuckle down
It was a working life for me.

We saved to get a mortgage
For a house that we could buy
Working on the building sight
Those bricks just multiplied.

We saved and went on holidays
With those summers on the beach
It was such a wonderful happy time
A break for a couple of weeks.

Now that was many years ago
No moŕe dancing around with girls
No more life in the fast lane
We are living in the real world.

Now our working days are over
We are older it must be said
And when it comes to nightime
We get tired and go to bed.
Looking back to the days when we were fancy free.
You have found yourself a Genius
There is nothing he can't do
He could lose himself inside his room
And would write a book or two.

You have found yourself a Genius
A man of high esteem
He can make a lot of money
And your life would be like a dream.

You have found yourself a Genius
In a mansion he abides
With a tennis court and swimming pool
And a rolls Royce parked outside.

You have found yourself a Genius
Who has an amazing mind
He will take you to fancy restaurants
And treat you to the finest wine.

You have found yourself a Genius
Owning property's galore
He even owns his private jet
Along with so much more.

Yes you have found yourself a Genius
There is nothing he can't do
But when it came to make you happy
It just never worked for you.
A light hearted poem inspired by the Beatles song Money can't by me love
Hi there all you youthful souls
Chase your dreams, reach your goals
Just remember I am always here
So far away yet so very near.

So go your way, do your thing
But if you get lost give me a ring
I am here any time of day
I will listen to what you say.

The days of youth are on your side
But the coming years will pass you by
So carry on, live your life
I hope one day you see the light.

This is your time, you have your space
Your chance is here don't hesitate
Life on this earth can be unkind
And that's one thing you'll find out in time.

I have had my say, I will say no more
It's down to you so please explore
Carry on, and do your thing
But if you get lost give me a ring.
There is always a listening ear from the higher source.
I am a father of 3 daughters, and grandfather of 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. I have seen them grow up, and have had many experiences of having my daughters ring me at 1am asking me to pick them up!!
I had to go and see my Doctor
For I was feeling rather dõwn
He took one look and said to me
You need to go out on The town.

He asked are you a heavy drinker
And do you drink alot of wine
I said whisky is my tipple
My preference every time.

He asked if I drink it often
I replied every single night
He laughed and said don't worry
That's perfectly alright.

He asked me what's my favourite blend
I said the Scottish highland malt
That's what they recommended
So the drinkings not my fault.

He asked do you eat much greasy food
Now that's something I can't deny
He suggested cooking frozen chips
They take less time to fry.

I asked Doctor what's your verdict
Is there anything you can do
He replied go out and have some fun
We are humans and our years are few.

So i am glad that I saw my Doctor
Now I am happy and I'm pleased
So go and see your Doctor
He will put your mind at ease.
I have a blood presure check tommorow
If my blood pressure is the same as last month
It will be a blood test.this poem is my way of dealing
With going to the Doctors. The sad news is my imaginary Doctor
Has taken early retirement, I don't no why.
Nothings more grandeur
Than the grand piano
With the peaceful sound
Of a symphony
Violins harps all join together
In perfect Harmony.

Nothings more calming
Than a flowing stream
On a summer's day
Such a delightful scene.
At one with nature
Like a beautiful dream.

Nothings more soothing
Than the feel of the Breeze
The gentle movement
Through the leaves on the trees
Pleasant smells from flowery scent
Accompanied with garden bees.

Nothings more brighter
Than the glittering stars
With the glimerring moon
In the universe Afar
The grand piano plays a tune
A wonderful melodious way to start.
Listened to a beautiful sound of the grand Piano
On TV it created a wonderful setting in my mind
Of all kinds of pleasant thoughts.
I feel I am getting older
Full of aches and pains
My body keeps on telling me
I will never be young again.

I used to be a drinker
I admit I drank too much
But now I'm reaching seventy
I hate the blooming stuff.

Now I am on the Doc spot
Every day I attend the gym
Although I feel I'm losing weight
I will never be nice and slim.

My wife and I walk our dog
We take him out each day
He chews and sniffs at everything
I won't tell you what I say.

Youth they say is a flame that burns
But I feel my flames gone out
Now if you were to see me
Well I'm nothing to shout about.

I wonder how my wife does cope
I'm beginning to repeat my words
And when I try to tell her things
She says I sound absurd.

So I guess I'll have to face the fact
There's no more climbing hills
For me its the downward spiral
So I'll carry on taking the pills.
Harry the roofer
Is roofing no more
He lost his balance
And nearly fell to floor .
The ladder it seemed
To to go higher and higher
A voice in his head
Said its time to retire .
Fifty years he worked on heights
Climing large houses
And on building sights .
But now at the age of sixty five
He's done all he can
And he still does survive .
Harry the roofer will find it hard
With all that time on his hands
Away from folk back at the yard .
Harry says goodbye to his friends
The ones he has known for many years
All there best wishes too him they do send..
Harry the roofer will reap what he's sown
His house is now paid for
And the children have grown .
Yes Harry known as a haŕd working man
He now takes it easy spends time at home
He has bought a new car and sold his van.
One of my niebours a retired roofer.
The distant, haunting trumpet sound
Peace came just like a dove
The fading of darkened clouds
Rescuing souls from war and blood.

No more we hear the country's call
We are heading home to those we love
No more we see our comrades fall
A welcomed hope from heaven above.

Those scars will never leave our minds
Here to stay and leaving their mark
Wounds they say will heal in time
How do we begin? Where do we start?

Very soon we'll be heading home
Away from those killing fields
To all our families and those we love
With beer, wine and home made meals.

The future will be much brighter
The past will stay in the past
No more fear of guns and the wounded
Just happy days will be here at last.

So let's march along with that trumpet sound
And let's salute to that peaceful dove
Say farewell to where wars abound
Let's celebrate a world of love.
I often wonder how soldiers felt when they heard the war had come to an end, and likewise soldiers in modern time.
He wondered up towards the bar
He said the word Hello
An angry face looked at him
He recieved an awful blow.
He went crashing into tables
Then he landed on the floor
Glasses smashed and broken
His chin felt rather sore.
Those blows they kept on coming
One two three and more
He saw the chance and took it
He just ran towards the door.
The whole thing was alarming
He couldn't help but think
He was only trying to be friendly
When ordering himself a drink .
Then again he had to wonder
About that dreadful place
She may of  looked  a stunner
But her manner was a disgrace.
He spent his life  in factorys
Worked his fingers to the bone
Fifty years have come and gone
Now retired he stays at home.
A family he provided for
Now the children they have grown
They have all moved on and fled the nest
They've got to make it on there own.
He looks around at all four walls
And he wonders just were he is going
So he thinks about this thing called life
And writes about it in a poem.
He may like writing poems about life
But he drives his wife crazy being under
Her feet and not washing his cups after use.
Is it such a crime
To follow a dream
They say that dreams
Come true so never
Hold back from what
Ever may be out
There for you
Who knows what you
Will find
Hidden Treasures
Come to mind.
How will you know
If you never dig deep?
Seek and you will find
Never leave your
Dreams behind
When you awake from sleep.
Why not follow a dream.
Dreams they say come true.
Never trust a smile it may not be what it seems
Behind there may be troubles and worries all unseen
Their thoughts may be like traffic in a large conjested town
Maybe that is the reason why they are feeling down.

So when you see those people that you love and who you know
Just look out for the body language and surely it will show
Forget about the laughter it may be just a screen
Take heed of that Solomn moment it may be a friend in need.

Watch out for all that pressure in a world of success and greed
That may be another reason why they never feel at ease
So never trust a smile  a smile can come and go
And don't ignore those warnings  beware of those Highs and lows.
So many people who are suffering with anxiety  And depression
And even suicidal.I am referring to people I know. people some times are good at putting  on a front.
He says goodbye to rock n roll
But not to his fans and friends
No more reaching out for gold
His fame came to an end

Then he found his destiny
A simple and quiet life
No more traveling on land and sea
He has children and wife.

He has photos all around his walls
They are there in his living room
They were taken in those concert halls
When his band was in full bloom.

The members they have now dispersed
They are doing their very own thing
No need to work play and rehearse
Before getting on stage to sing.

Now he's living his life in the slow lane
No more traveling from place to place
He never put faith in the music game
You can tell by the smile on his face.

So he says goodbye to those high times
He had more than his fare share of them
Now he relaxes at home and there  unwinds
With memories of way back then.
Those days of Rock an Roll
Listen to the sound of wolves
And zombies who are often cruel
Vultures hovering, seeking flesh
Must keep on the move, no time to rest.
All of this for an adventurous trip
Nobody warned about the risk
Or gave a clue of what lay ahead
For fear out there is one of dread
Running forward no looking back
One false move could be the last.
Footsteps approaching, something is near
Shaking the branches causing fear.
The echoing sound of haunting cries
That awful feeling of peering eyes
Now this is the end, no more to be
Watching horror movies on my TV
That is all enough has been said
I am tired now, so I am off too bed.
He was known as Mr meadows
A man I knew so well
His past now left in the shadows
His story's he would seldom tell.

He was wounded in the trenches
In that deadly first world war
He was humble sincere and sensitive
Like no man I have Known before.

He was good and so kind hearted
He was there when one felt  down
And always around when needed
You would see him in the town.

That was many years ago
He died aged seventy two
He lived within his Bungalow
In a row of just a few.

Mr Meadows lived for others
He was never a selfish man
He would always help those mother's
Who would struggle with a pram.

Mr Meadows was the quite kind
He hardly would say a word
He kept his thoughts inside his mind
His fears were rarely heard.

You may just start to wonder
What's so special about this man
When you felt you were going under
He would be there to take your hand.
Mr Meadows i remember well an unassuming gentle man
You could say somewhat a timïd man .some people used to
Take advantage of his gentle nature.not realising  he was involved
In the first world war battles.I feel he must of suffered from the affects
Of the horrors of war.
I see faces in the clouds
And curtains and the walls
I see faces in the trees
And the leaves before they fall
I look into the mirror
And this is what I see
A face thay call a failure
Looking looking back at me.
I told my mother what I had seen
The mirror clouds and curtains
And the leaves upon the trees.
Her words were wise as always
She turned and said to me
Believe nothing that you hear son
And only half of what you see.
Yesterday he ran so  free
Then he walked us off our feet
He jumped right up and then we found
He was exspecting his favourite treat.
Upon that day he wanted to play
He just never seemed to stop
Then on that night he didn't seem right
It was on the floor he flopped.
He climed on our bed then didn't move
It really was so alarming
We thought about the bone he chewed
Hoping that it didn't harm him.
He laid and laid and didn't budge
He was such a saddened sight
We shall wait until the morning
We couldn't sleep that night.
At seven o'clock he gave a bark
we thought he would never stop
He ran down stairs at such a speed
The pigeons all flew off.
Now he is completely oblivious
To think he almost made us sob
We had one hell of a restless night
Whilst he was sleeping like a log.
Let it shine let it shine.this gift of love
Let it spread let it glow from heaven above
Let it find those darkened places
And put a smile on saddened faces.

Let it shine like the sun from above
Let it spread like the wings of a dove
Let those grey skies turn too blue
And help those dreams all come true .

Let it shine let it shine this gift of love
Let it spread let it glow from heaven above
Let it seek for those lonely hearts
And find two lovers who will never part.

Let it shine and never let it fade
Let it be there every day
Let it be that  shining light
Love is a need in all of our lives.
Here is were it all begins
Now a life time to unfold
A future lies deep within
And stories will be told.

Your road it will be rocky
You will face those stormy seas
There'll be times you will be happy
And times down on your knees.

You will find that life's a journey
You'll get lost along the way
But your not alone there's many
Who get back on track again.

So put on that suit of armour
It's a dangerous world out there
Beware of all the trappings
Their are pitfalls everywhere.

Don't look back you have a future
And hope is what you need
Your life will be your teacher
And lessons will be learned indeed.

You will find that new horrizon
It is there behind the door
That door will surely widen
And the world it will be yours.
I think you all will agree that life is teacher and we all have
Made mistakes.some of us more than others.
It's such a pleasant morning
I'm not going to do a thing
I am sitting drinking coffee
I see a lovely display of wings.

I love these early mornings
My working days now done
Watching birds of every kind
They really are such fun .

The crows they are going crazy
There are thousands in the air
But the pigean on my bird stand
He isn't going anywhere.

Now a black bird he is gliding
In harmony with the breeze
He doesn't seem to worry much
He takes refuge in the trees.

What ever happened  to the sparrows
We don't see them anymore
They always used to be around
A little bird that I adore

Maybe there is a message
In the way that these birds sing
Take note of there morning chorus
And there lovely display of wings.
I live on a place called the wood and my house is surrounded by trees
And that means birds. birds of every kind.I sat relaxing drinking a coffee
And their were birds of every kind flying outside my window
Crows seagulls magpies robins and wood pigeons
