First day of Kindergarten:
I am wearing
Scratchy new jeans
And an eager smile.
This unfamiliar freedom is intoxicating-
I can't wait to leave.

First day of eleventh grade:
I am wearing
My faded old jeans
And a reluctant scowl.
The idea of adulthood is terrifying-
I don't want to leave.

So many things I cannot understand;

Like where we come from,
Why humans are so cruel,
Or what that boy sees in me.

One million questions race through my brain
But none will reach the finish line;
All are left unanswered.

I may never know
Where I belong
Or what lies beyond our galaxy

But I am beginning to accept-
There isn't much in life
That makes sense.

the initial panic,
followed by
hushed whispers & too-bright lights.
stretched lips show gleaming teeth;
ticking seconds melt together.
sitting
pacing
waiting
fleeting moments of chaos
expose life's delicacy.

Why must we ruin all that we touch?
Moving blindly on our quest for more:
Power,
Possessions,
Pride,
Unable to see the destruction we leave in our wake.
Does nobody care?
We are poisoning this planet;
It is our home.
These actions do not come without consequences.
The real-life Midas Touch-
Letting our greed get the best of us.
Look around at the world.
Can't you see?
Humanity is a curse.

Silly boy,
Are you having fun?
My twisted game has just begun.

Silly boy,
Do I have to say?
These are only tricks I play.

Silly boy,
Have you noticed my ploy?
To me you're nothing but a toy.

Silly boy,
Can't you see?
You were merely a distraction for me.

We are a tangle of multicolored parts
A human rainbow

Your clear blue eyes
Exploring the shape of my soft body

My deep violet veins
Pulsing with desire

Your caramel-colored freckles
Mark every inch of your trembling self

My pale pink *******
Are silk beneath your fingertips

Your rusty copper hair
Damp with the salty sweat of *******

My sharp black nails
Carve shallow lines in your flesh

Our warm red lips
Melting in a fiery kiss
