A Toad and the Princess
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
I wrote and wrote, to no avail, in the end
The message just, doesn’t reach, my friend!
So I read it to myself, and I just wonder,
Is it so impossible? Or, is it a blunder?

A blunder, with a princess, to have a bond.
When you’re but, just a frog from the pond.
You could travel in space, across the galaxies
Cross mountains or dive to the deepest seas,
Undeterred, no matter, how much you please.
But some things remain unmoved, where it is.

In between the sour and the sweetness of life,
And in between life’s dedication, toils and strife,
Dejected and feeling torn, I have decided to lose,
The only person, in my life, that I chose to choose.

If only we lived, but, in a world of fairy tale
Surrounded by fairies, angels and magic spell
Where all dreams could be, dreamt and achieved
Together in love, happy, contented and relieved.

THE LAST WISH
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
You could enclose me in a coffin, embalmed,
With the nectar of the sweet roses.
But, to the desiring and the needy,
Give away whatever I possess.

If you think you can,
When i die, burn me not
Hoping you would regard
My wishes and my thought.

Give my eyes to the blind
Who has not seen a sun rise.
Give my heart to the needy
Free of cost, without a price.

Give my brains to the *******
Whose brain is in disorder
Give my kidneys to the ailing
Ain't it worth and better?

Give my veins and my bones
To the lame and the *******.
Let him also walk his days
Strong and fit as a fiddle.

My soul would then rest in peace
though my coffin would be empty.
Before my body decay and rot,
Let me be of use to somebody.

OH MY LOVE!
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
Oh my love,
My sweet heart
Do not ask me
Of how beautiful you are.
Even when I compare
You with Cleopatra,
Or the Helen of Troy,
You are always better, better by far.
Dark cloud gathers up above
And thunder hits the ground
As the lightning covers the sky above
With its thundering sound
I ain’t no Achilles
Or the Hercules himself
But I would always protect thee.
Trust in me is what I need
And your undying
Faith on me.

CHANGING TIME
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
Gone are the days, when by night, we would sleep on the trees
And by day, roam around, finding for eatables and wild berries,
We would then, swing from creepers to creepers, trees to trees,
Playing amongst, brothers and sisters, friends, and other families.

Our homes have been invaded, humans encroaching, day by day.
We have been driven out of our homes; we have no place to stay.
We now, no more, hunt for food, rather by the roadside, sit or lie
Ever patiently, waiting for foods, thrown from vehicles passing by.

They call us monkeys, but look who’s been monkey-ing?
No thoughts on where we’d live, simply occupying.
Cutting down trees, destroying our habitat,
We have no home, we can call our own; ain’t it bad?

I see the stars above, I wonder how long would it shine
As I slowly sip from this glass, this beautiful Italian wine
Would the stars keep on shining, watching me move ahead?
As into this unknown future, I would have to tread.

When its yesterday, we wish, when would tomorrow come
Now that tomorrow’s come, I am but, sitting at home
Graduation complete, thinking now, what to do next
Thinking about what to choose, what would be best.

Knocking doors, of every offices, Organizations, or Company.
Sitting down for interviews, in each and every, Entity.
Would I fare, would I flunk? Fingers crossed, results awaited.
No matter how many doors do I knock, “JOB isn’t in my fate.

Experience is what all employers opt, from the candidate,
How can you expect this experience from a fresh graduate?
Give me a chance; I would prove my efficiency, capability,
An hour of interview on a table, will never portray one’s ability.

Ill written fate?
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
Perhaps one less man, makes her world, a better place,
Hearts at content, Peace in mind, smiles on her face.
Hopes forlorn, patience outrun, despite all the tries,
Feeble and frail, unsuccessful, tears roll down my eyes.

Unfulfilled dreams and Promises,
Sunken to the deep sea below
Waiting for the last tick of the clock,
As I rest my head on the pillow.

Samson and Delilah, Romeo and Juliet,
Oh what a story? Of them! That I read.
Mine is more of a flop, than a success instead,
And perhaps that’s my loser, ill-written fate.

IF NOT
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
If not for the moon, we won’t see the stars,
If not for the wound, we won’t see the scars.

If not for the highs, we won’t feel no lows,
If not for the fast, we won’t feel no slows.

If not for the poor, we won’t have no rich.
If not for the river, we won’t have no bridge.

If not for the day, we won’t have no night.
If not for the wars, we won’t have no fight.

If not for the happiness, we won’t have no satisfactions,
If not for the love, we won’t have no affections.

If not for the winner, we won’t have no losers.
If not for the options in life, we won’t have no choosers.

While we indulge in prayers and hymns
We tend to forget, we can be human beings.
While we pretend being, religious and pious
We cannot refrain from being, jealous and bias.

DREAMING?
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
I have seen enough of the moon and the stars
And I think I must hit the sack now
Wake up to a yet another beautiful morning
and get going with life somehow

So much to do in life
Dreams and missions unfulfilled
But yet I think I should be contented
for I never lived my life with greed

I am walking alone in the dark
and I see no shadows stalk me
had it not been for the crow of the rooster
I was actually in my sleep, dreaming happily.

I wipe my eyes, head for the washroom
Freshen up and attired clean
Open up the window look outside
Greet the world “Good Morning”.

Candle in the Dark
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
Just a candle in the dark,
Here I am all alone
trying to reason out the love
That you had, never shown
Tear drops in my eyes,
Remembering you, and your voice
I guess that’s all I can do now,
For I have, no other choice.

Just a candle in the dark,
But yet, shedding lights for them
Love’s in the air for everyone
But for me, it’s not the same.
Days do not pass
Without a thought of you,
And I always see you further
Even in my dreams too.

Just a candle in the dark,
Wonder how long would it be there?
I have lost all hopes now
There's not a tear I can spare.
I can’t hold on to memories
And linger on
and cling on to thoughts of the days
Long gone

Just a candle in the dark,
Keeps you awake for a while
It would just sparkle my day
If only for once I could see you smile

I presume it’s all pre-written,
A thing called fate
but I would still keep waiting
Until I am, but long gone dead,

AT THE BOARDING LOUNGE
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
Some are running,
some in panic,
finding platforms
and gates.

Some on visits,
some on tour,
with families,
officials or mates.

Some at the enquiry,
first timers in confusion,
asking for directions.

Some shopping,
gifts and mementoes,
some at the phone
charging locations.

It seems a place
that never goes to sleep,
and never rests a while

Reaching people
to destinations,
near or across
thousands of mile.

The announcement
above echoes,
on every notifications
and details.

They leave no stones unturned,
the crew and the members
of all Airways.

A POTRAIT.
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
Alone in the room, with a brush in my hand
Colors, on the palette, an easel, on the stand.
I keep splashing the paint, a figure does appear,
A figure of a lady, standing by the, hallway stair.

Late in her forties, but to me, she looks no old
Very well attired, fully decked up in gold.
Frilled skirt with stockings, up to her knees,
And with a collared T-shirt, that’s pinkish.
Glaring with a bright radiance, looking very fair,
She looks so magnificent, sitting by the hallway stair.

The portrait completed, I hang it up the wall,
She reminds me of someone, as I do recall,
Of this girl I, once did know, from yesteryear
Oh! The fair lady! Sitting by the hallway stair.

NEW CHAPTER IN LIFE
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
Indulge either in poems and poetry,
Or sing songs on a guitar, under a tree,
Rather than brood over the unsuccessful past,
Dwell over good memories, which forever last.

Failure in life; call it your fate?
Do not brood over it, and regret.
Days ahead may be perilous, unknown,
Do not turn your heart into a cold stone.

To err is human, so live positive
Keep moving ahead; as long as you live.
Do not fall for no crocodile tears,
Do not live your life in constant fears.

Do not budge nor wilt a bit,
Learn to accept no defeat.
Sometimes, we need to fight our fate
Time’s galore; it’s never too late.

Sometimes, you fight your own battle
Sometimes help just comes its way,
Do not lie down and surrender not,
For everyone will have his day.

IGNORANCE IS BLISS
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
IGNORANCE IS BLISS

Sometimes I wish I was but, a blind
Won’t have to, witness people so unkind.

Sometimes I wish I was but, deaf and dumb
Nothing to hear and say, comfortably numb.

Sometimes I wish I was but, lame and *******
Sit back and relax, nothing else to repel.

Sometimes I wish I had but, total no feel
No drive for ambition, revenge or a ****.

Sometimes I wish I had but, no senses
Whom to care and whom to keep off the fences.

At times,
I wish for these things above
For it is not WAR that I love
Let the sleeping lion in me sleep
For I strongly believe in “Live or Let live”.

Global Warming
Passang Sherpa Jul 2018
GLOBAL WARMING

Monsoon this year has been the driest since time we know
Fields all dried up and parched, and nothing else to grow
Farmers in worry, foods in shortage, inflations on the rise
Stop the global warming! Or be ready, to pay the price.

It will only worsen even more, with, every passing year
Weathers would be pleasant no more, and, difficult to bear
Oceans would rise to greater heights, sinking, coastal dwelling
Water would be everywhere but, not a drop, for drinking.

Live with the nature - the worlds a perfect place for Humankind
But we never heed to it, nor, do we try, keeping it in mind.
For selfish reasons, and the quest for more, we always ignored,
Preservations of the Environment, we should have, always followed.

Nature’s cycle of seasons, completely out of its cyclic order
This has brought onto mankind, calamities, and disaster.
Gone are the days, when the peaks were capped with snow
Days will soon come by, when you will see lesser rivers flow.

Famines and droughts will hit the Earth
Water and Foods would be in dearth.
Trees and Forests would vanish for good
Every where around, there’ll be, scarcity of food.

Societies would run amok, foods their priority
Wars and crimes would be there for all to see.
Temperature would rise, unstable and unforeseen
Parched lands or Deserts, where once it was green.

Stop the pollution and reduce the global warming
Stop all things that are to humans, threatening and harming.
I am sending you this message through this poem for you to read
Stop Polluting! To all the polluting nations, this I sincerely plead.
