Love is Insatiable
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
You know you’re truly content with someone
and deeply in love
When you are forever unsatisfied
and just can’t get enough
For your consideration

The Law of the Farm
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
“Wow”
said the cow
and, “Wow”, “Wow”
say another two
And if,
“Wow”, “Wow”, Wow”
say another three
Then what should you do?
Please reply
with, “Moo”
for that’s what
a cow should do
“Moo”, “Moo”, “Moo”
even four
‘moos’ or more
Until no cow with ‘wow’
Is heard
among the herd
Anytime now
or evermore

If, “Laa”
says the Ewe
and “Laa”,  “Laa”
say another two
...then three, and so on...
you know,
somethings wrong.
Please reply with “Baa”
and as many ‘Baa’s’
you need to
But keep to a few,
and keep it at that
Unless you hear,
“MooWow”
and it’s coming
from the cat

Chance
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
A flick and toss
Is no win nor loss
If the coin remains in your hand

Heads and tails
Never fails
If you allow the coin to land

So give a throw
You never know
What destiny has planned

Illiterate Lovers
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
Universal imagery
to illiterate lovers
pressed hearts
❤️💕💝
and kisses
🥰😘😍
And an array
💐🌹🌷
of flowers
In pings and dings
love on the fly
waiting for
that silent read
...
hope for
that quick reply

I Still Love Her
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
One day she just stopped talking,
so I stopped too
I don't know if that's what she wanted,
It’s just her words became few
I thought I’d give her some flowers
Maybe somehow I’d get through
The flowers weren’t as pretty as her
But she stopped seeing too
Now I just visit and I hold her
At least she still feels the same
She’s still as beautiful as she always been
Though she barely knows my name
to my mum and dad

Take Heart
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
My heart is bigger
than your hand
Hold it if you can
But the weight
may bring you down
So take heart
and just hold
my hand

Fluffy Little Sadness
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
Fluffy little sadness
lurking in my soul
Just one more little sad song
sing along and feel whole
Sadness feels like a fur ball
we choke, cough and toss
sticky, gooey, hairy
not as sweet as fairy floss

now swallowing the sorrow
we slouch too sensitive in our seat
feeling sticky in self pity
finding comfort in bitter sweet
Oh wake from the stinking wallow
may we learn a thing or two
feels good moping in warm and fuzzy
but so does barefoot in warm poo

Paper Tears
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
Drawing little tears
I trace around lines
small oval shaped drops
I cut away from your eyes
pasting them in a scrapbook
for the hurting to see
Inviting all to look
how sorrow is set free
tear out the paper
fold into a plane
crease down the corners
and fly away the pain

The Soulsman
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
If the devil comes to you
offering to buy your soul
Ask him “why? “ and whats he done,
with the one he just stole?

If he tries to bargain
and offers some crazy price
hold to that heart, my friend
even if the price is nice

If he throws in an offer
doubling the price
consider the value of your soul
and remember,
he’ll always want a slice

No One is Really Alone
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
That feeling, that you are alone
should remind many, not some
that all people are alone
and you’re not the only one
that feeling when you’re lonely
is not the experience of a few
so therefore, no one is really alone
when we’re all lonely too
The irony

Sleepless Poet
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
It’s late
I must sleep
But my soul speaks
“Just one more rhyme”
and so I rest now
because of this line

Rise
My Dear Poet Mar 2021
Try train your eyes to tune
and adjust to the light of the moon
You may lose some sleep
when wrestling the deep
but the darkness will end soon

and the stronger you’ll become
by the morning you’d have won
To rise like the day
and stand and say
“I’m now ready for the light of the sun!”

Guardian of the Garden
My Dear Poet Feb 2021
Inside my garden is a little book
It’s pages grow me flowers
each scent of smell
my soul knows well
the fragrance and its powers

Each page I turn
from fauna and fern
I guard the garden that is mine
from the chapter on ****
and the sachet of seed
between the cover and the spine
Guard your heart, from it grows the things of life

Shine
My Dear Poet Feb 2021
“I’m so high, I can fly”,
said the butterfly
“I’m so low I can glow”,
said the worm
And together, the two
one lit, one flew
and arrayed the earth
below and high
The world is beautiful

Unkind
My Dear Poet Feb 2021
I’m trying hard,
not to think you’re unkind
But your footprints in my heart
have left me scars in my mind.
