My Dear Poet Jan 2022
Many a man can roll up his sleeve
raise his elbows for a fight
But it takes a stronger man
to lower his hands
and leave when he knows its right
I’m not one for defeat
and have me beat
But If I’m ever half that man
You will have me found
standing my ground
letting down, just one hand

Many a man can
let loose their screws
and explode with words of sorts
But it takes a mindful man
to remain subdued
taking captive every thought
I’m not one to refrain
or lose my brain
But if I’m ever half that man
I’d like to think I’m kind
give a good piece of my mind
and hopefully they’d understand

Many a man can spin their own yarn
and tell a tale without a flinch
But it takes an honest man
to not spin spam
and not sway from truth an inch
I’m not one to lie
I’m an honest guy
But if I’m ever half that man
I’lI tell the whole story
and then and if only
leaving out the details where I can

Not many a man can
resist or tame the flame
of passion or fire
For there are but a few
who are able to
harness the lust of fleshly desire
Now sometimes I burn
and yes, I yearn
But if I’m ever half that man
I can look and not touch
and if it goes and gets too much
well, I suppose, I am who I am
My Dear Poet Jan 2022
Don’t cry tears
cry seeds for roses
who found no place in Eden

Don’t grow guns
Fight for the flowers
that bloom in shadows hour
waiting for the sun

Like crawling moss
inside cellars
where wine is stored
from twisted vine
Guard your heart
and mind

Or ivy in attics
where memories are hoard
away from eyes and light
Guard your sight

Tears fall like pellets
scattered shells of bullets
buried in dirt, like seeds
that shoot up into hurt

But if you’re wounded
by life
plant a garden
in every light of your love
Keep your head up high
wait for the sky
to shower you from above

Nigdaw
somewhere there's a party
you're not invited to
but the little red dress
will gate-crash the venue
desperately trying to cover
more than it reveals
it will have a better time
than ever you can imagine
until disappointment reveals
it clothes a mere mortal
not some Hellenic goddess
a mirage of alcohol
a signal of distress
somewhere there's a party
you shouldn't be invited to
full of danger, anguish
and an end to innocence

She is the kiss I never knew
Like the breath I never drew
Like the thought I never did
Like the heart I always hid
She’s the taste upon my tongue
Like flavoured lips dripping numb
She’s the fragrance I’d never breathe
She’s the warm welcome I’d never leave
Shes my dreams of little sleep
Of tears we keep and never weep
Of things we’re told and never hold
She’s the karat in the gold
A secret I cannot help but tell
She’s a piece of heaven sold in hell
She’s the whisper among the noise
A bleeding petal pricked by thorns
She’s the truth I’d never believe
like her love I’d never receive
She is the past in my present
She is and now she isn’t
My Dear Poet Jan 2022
There are so many ways
to say goodbye
‘Hellos’ are but a few
there’s ‘adieu’ and ‘farewell’
just to mention one or two
‘Catch you later
…alligator’

there are much, and many more
of ‘Bye byes’
than of ‘Hi’s’
than a simple ‘Bonjour’

‘See ya’ or ‘See you’
easier said than to cleave
so, ‘So long’
won’t feel wrong
so many ways to see you leave
maybe, it’s because we depart
more often than we come
maybe, “hello” holds no meaning
after it’s said and when it’s done
goodbye could be good but hurtful
for no sorrow in hello you feel
but parting can be painful
so we say ‘Keep it real’

‘ta ta’, ‘toodeloo’
’sorry it’s me…not you’
among the funny things we say
like ‘howdy’, ‘how you?’
‘****-a-doodle-doo’
by early morning on your way
so it’s hasta la vista
see you soon, or cya later
I’d better be along.
take it easy
easy peasy
peace out and stay strong.

Don’t hide your words
use them and speak
Don’t bury the truth
and play hide and seek
Come out, come out
from wherever you are
Don’t hide behind lies
and be found a liar
For ready or not
the truth will come when
there’s no place to hide
and they’ve counted to ten

Silver heart
“I like smiling in the rain” I say
“Why?” asked the sunny day
“ No one can see my pain”
I say as I sit and smile, my pain dripping off me disguised as this beautifully deadly rain.
Rewrite was edited, used to say
"I say as I sit and smile while my pain is disguised as rai "
