Cherisse May
What am I to you?
Ugly. Insecure.
Disgusting. Pathetic.
Exists only when you need me.

Flowers grow where she walks
But you grow thorns and thistles
I don't hate you.
I just miss the 'better, kinder' you.

Ryan O'Hara
That moment when you realize that you hurt someone
That means more than life itself
And it cuts them in the heart
And they bleed due to what you said
And you know there is no forgiving yourself
And you slip back into your demon of the past
And harming yourself is the only thing you know
But when they find out
They hurt even more
They blame themself
But it wasnt their fault
And they cry over you
And something in you dies
You know you cant forgive yourself
They want you to be whole and pain free
But because of what you said you cant let go
Because you hurt the thing that means nore than life
srry to my love
Nature as we see it
Maybe the sky isn't blue, it is white
Maybe the stars aren't twinkling, but confused
Maybe the sun isn't shinning, but cursing
Maybe the moon doesn't light up, but filled with darkness
Nature as we described it might not fit
Nature in it self can't be defined
This poem spur from people's believe that  God is nature and anything from God  can't be faulty. So we tend to describes this natural things based on our beliefs. Refusing to see its other end, in which beauty is based on it diversity

hierarchy

Where does hierarchy begin?
Is it where the strong is on top,
and the weak step upon?

Where does your dignity be placed?
Is it where your always be the winner,
no matter what, even it has bitter taste.

Is SURVIVAL really that cruel?
That some of us are just a tool,
a fool for the strong to be cool.

No, it can't be that bad
yet reality is quite sad.

Despite our hard beginnings
Life still is beautiful
that losing isn't everything.

Dignity is placed -
where you respect yourself the most
and Hierarchy isn't important
to where your love is...

Gidgette
Being the thing that I am,
borne into this world of man
A waif,
Scent of water lilly on a gypsy's cheek dancing at midnight
A song,
sung by demons under the blood moon in the month of March
A mere reflection,
In a child's tear
With the want for nothing more,
than to evaporate with the coming of the rising Sun
But the sun never rises here
and reflections don't evaporate~A

I don't know what to say, so I'll say nothing and write
everything down, I saw your face last night at the party
and I hope that it could mean I did something
can you save me from this thing taking my mind away
I must be dreaming, so I'll say nothing because I don't want
to take your breath away and you'll take mine away too

you were sitting on the bed of the truck next to the cooler
with your phone out, looked like you didn't want no best friend
around you as you pull the lighter out, it's 3 am and I must be dreaming
because that picture is still stuck in my mind, despite it meaning nothing
I don't know what to say, so I'll say nothing and write it all down

its funny how we don't talk at school
and we still end up dating

its painful to hear what others has to say
about our relationship just because they want you

its frustrating when you ignore my texts
because you were playing games with others

its blissful when we argued about
who loved who more

its funny how we didn't break up
because of all the trouble we've been through
my relationship in a nutshell

                    Time,
                    space
                    and everything in between.

                    Heartaches,
                    tears
and secrets that don't come clean.

                    Gambols,
                    laughter
                    and smiles beaming keen.

                    Deep thoughts,
                    aloneness
and the dark places we've been.

                    Handholding,
                    careless hugs
                    and ready shoulders to lean.

                    Reckless stabs,
                    impulsive jabs
and caustic words we don't mean.

                    Contentment,
                    counting blessings
                    and hope we can glean.

                    You,
                    me
                    and everything in between.

cassie sky
These bars on the window, they keep me in
Though they are not quite what you would expect
They're not strong or thick, but flimsy and thin.
Instead of iron, they're made of plastic

Although they do stop me physically
It is not in the conventional sense
Of "lock her up and throw away the key"
More like the subtle warning of a fence

They shun the thing that is fueling my fire
Leaving me in darkness, too familiar
The heaviness keeps at bay my desire
To leap into unknown, the barely blur

They trap me not like the bird in a cage
Rather, they stifle, like the soul in rage
My students have been writing sonnets as we study Romeo & Juliet and I felt inspired at 10pm to write this when I should have been reading for my book club meeting tomorrow. Oh well! The line about the barely blur is a reference to a song by the band Why? off of their new album Moh Lean.
