i love poetry
it made me realise who i was
i understood myself better
and i felt understood
though we are all swimming in different tides and waves
we're all from the same ocean
different,
but together as a whole

Don't judge me by my looks
And don't read me by the books
I am brash and I am kind
I am hard to define
I am bold. I am shy
I am grounded, but I fly
I love, and I give
I cradle, I forgive
Though soft I may feel
I am thunder, I am steel
I am smiles and I am laughter
I am happily ever after
I am tears and I am ache
I am a mess when I break
I hold tightly, but I know
When it's time to let go
I am dove, I am hawk
I am the rose and the rock
I am rain. I am sun
I am I. I am woman

Thank you all so much **
Dearest everyone, thank you so much for your likes, loves, reposts.  Thank you so much for all your wonderful and encouraging responses. This is a small,  simple poem and I wasn't certainly expecting all the attention it has received. I am grateful to all of you talented poets and readers. I am so happy that it was chosen as a daily - it's a wonderful feeling. Love to all.

I am also very thankful to Conrad Druger van den Bergh, an excellent poet and wonderful friend who inspired this x

I forgot what it was like to be happy

until you painted my whole world with colors.

She was remarkable
Easily the most beautiful
She was complicated
Her hair all tangled
Like a ball of yarn in the cats paw
And all I ever wanted in life
Was to sit by her
And help untie her knots

You're starting to represent
something wonderful
to me;
ace as summer
beginning to shine.

That
feeling
that
is
much
much
greater
than
ten
words.
This is my first attempt at a 10-word poem. I hope to have a collection of ten 10W poems starting with this one, soon!

New Moon

The light had gone from this woman
Her days now became lonely and dark
She would go to the shoreline
To repair what had been torn apart
She would shout out to the shoreline
O please bring me a new light, a new moon
I am tired of feeling lonely and dark
Will you please bring it to me soon
Just like that the gilded clouds did part
to reveal to her a new moon
Time for this woman to have light again
Time for her to be swooned
This new moon was most welcoming
with his arms open wide
Lit up this beautiful woman again
and brought out the pearl we knew was inside
