THE SKY WAS SORT OF CLOUDY
WITH SOME SUNSHINE
PEAKING THROUGH
THE BEAUTY OF
THAT SUMMER DAY
ON A RAINBOW AFTERNOON

A SIGN OF GOD'S PRESENCE
A PROMISE THAT HE MADE
HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US
HE WILL BE WITH US ALWAYS

A RAINBOW AFTERNOON
HOW SPECIAL CAN IT BE
A RAINBOW AFTERNOON
FOR YOU AND FOR ME

Hush now
It’s all right
You will forget
The taste of my blood

It was funny when
you took a bite
I knew you will choke
on my poisoned heart

My vein is still pulsing
I can feel your teeth
piercing through my skin

Look, now our blood is mixed
A creation of a new disease

Hush now, don’t cry
You will forget the pain
in time

Just close your eyes
and count to five

Now, you are mine
Pain is better than numbness,
because at least I can feel
my life not just move through it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my poetry.  Also a thank you to all my family and friends that remind me to be the best me I can be.  Thank you Sheela, Courtney, Christian, Favour, my daughter Sydney and my son James.  Also, a big thank you to my husband Jim.

I'm drunk
staring at your picture
like I can hear you calling my name
telling me it's time for bed.

I fantasize
about marching with my friends
down wellington
forcing the government
to look below,
and think
"maybe they're right."
but instead, they think
"shut it down."

i fantasize
about taking care of the wounded
doing my part
and truly feeling
that there is power in unity
forcing the government
to look below,
and think
"maybe we're wrong."
but instead, they think
"send more troops."

i fantasize
about singing "l'internationale"
with thousands of my comrades
as we fight for justice
arm in arm,
hand in hand
forcing the government
to look below,
and think
"maybe it's us."
but instead, they think
"casualties don't matter unless the goal is reached."

Hi
You're beautiful
The sun agrees
Anthropological wonder
Space-Time light rider
Careless to be careful
Just because I'm under
Magenta minds eye
Deep intent
Majestic tight bright
I would lick the floor where you stand
Dilated
Polymath Siren,
her flower returns

New stirrings to write
new melody to learn

Renaissance memory,
its present announced

Freeing your psyche,
past-future recount

Polymath harlot,
  love pledged again

Petals now varied,
spread from within

Bouquet filled enigma,
here until gone

Leaving always one seedling
—to finish her song
