Is there such a thing
As original thought?
Something truly new

Just because you never heard it
Doesn’t make it not true
Or are we just
Regurgitating
Another man’s genius
Disingenuous
Stroking his ego
Is that a journey we follow, sole
Or does misery love company

Plagiarism I have been on the receiving end
A fellow, poet used lines from my poem
Am I supposed to pretend
That didn’t happen

Clear and simple stolen.
Plagiarism is not a game.
It is not my intention
To mention their name
where do you draw the line?
Is Plagiarism a crime ?
Am I in Jeopardy?

I keep returning to original thought
Was it ever truly mine ?
Did I unwittingly,
Twist the concept overtime?
Or subconsciously did I glam
Originality from elsewhere
How do you justify, compare?
Then to claim it as my own
There are consequences to atone

A movie, song, story, play
Who is to say
If the area is gray

If I use random words in a similar style
Does the Original concept
Remain after a while
We justify by calling it a muse
But is our original thought being used?

Say I move into a different direction
Yet inference Glam’s the same reflection
Does the original remnant show detection
Even in the most, minute detail
Is my original thought derailed
It would be hard to dispel

Is there such a thing as original thought?
Something truly new!
I wonder
If we even have a clue?

Turn coats on the run
Votes up in the air
Undecided everywhere
What will it take to cross the line?

Those who want to turn
Back the hands of Time
Leisurely Sit on their rocking chairs
Afternoons, a gentle breeze, sublime

Decades of time watching the sunset
We honestly no longer can say no regret
Optimism for our future, slowly fades
Reluctantly, we Turn another page

Our world is turned upside down
It’s precarious in our sleepy town
For fun, kids use to drive around
The last bit of fun that can be found

Gang violence overrun, tent cities
They don’t want American’s pities
A heinous Cold Civil War begun
Death to America Everyone

They Demand reparations our homes jobs
Third world Country behavior, Macabre
Noncitizens hell bent on nefarious intent
Ammunition spent police came and went

Situational awareness danger can be bad
Hazardous to fly the American flag
Reminiscent of the freedoms
We once had

Turning point in this world today
Down on our knees, we pray
What society will do to our kids
Satanic minions grasp first bids

Teaching kids today Little Jack Horner
Evil lurking behind every corner
Come out Come out, lets play
Not to worry it will be OK
You won’t be missed anyway

Mathematics is now racist they say
Slowly taking all our freedoms away
How could this possibly be? Well, Let’s see
(2+2 = 3 ) two plus two equals three

Dumb the children to submission
Using warped basic edition,
But why? First lesson NEVER question
I Will pay you $10 for a days work

I say $4  is ten all subserviently Believe
Old folk No Joke know they’re deceived
Younger generations obediently receive
Too many people in this world no reprieve

Older generations must be downsized

They keep the youth Trainable less Wise
Crazy but true read with communist eyes

We live in a bubble play the fool
No more need for propaganda school
Not realizing We are in their control

Down on our knees, we please
Obedient servants appease
We can recoup control slim margin of error
Americans looking in the face of terror

Who are you?
what do you believe?
what do you stand for?
we are a society living lost
oblivious in our own little worlds
Do you see what is happening all around you?
the homeless living on the streets
do you know your neighbors names ?
What is your form of entertainment ?
Television shows;
Satan worshipin,
demons, horror movies,
bloodly corpses, ******,
****, ****** violence,
sexually  scenes with under age,
we see every commandment in the Bible broken daily
on prime time for entertainment
Do you remember waiting all week

The news shows q
terrorist cutting off somebody’s head on the internet
in the name of God,
schools, Music concerts, ands  churches mass killings
Cultures collide,  mass death because they believe it’s the end od days
Mass shootings, hundreds of people for no reason.
The worst wheather in history;
earthquakes, tsunami‘s  floods
our earth is on fire.
people Suffering; starving, sickness, superbugs,
epidemics beyond proportion:
Isis Wars using child as A human shields strapping bombs to Babies  and elderly
all in the name of God
There is an attack on ALL Christians and Christianity
We have taken religion out  from our schools, cities and states
no longer allowed to pray.
You used to be able to go to any hotel room and find a Bible in the nightstand drawer no longer .
56% of the entire world no longer believe in God
we allow same-*** marriage
you can change your *** to whatever you want
We wonder why our children are so out-of-control
Why they have no respect for their parents or for anything
why they’re lost
why they try to **** themselves and others
Why they Turn to drugs; alcohol
Trying to escape reality

The Bible talks about a day when wrong is right and right is wrong
I would say we are there
Today

If you do NOT believe in the Bible
then how do you base your moral compass ?
if it feels good do it ?
if it’s good for you then it’s good
if it’s bad for you then it’s bad
Isn’t that rather like
playing GOD
It’s time to wake up

Walking Is not and easy task

My child is grown
Married with children of her own
Life a twist of fate
Divorce, judgements ,learn to hate
Before God They came together
She left him, a battle, a storm unable to weather

They both moved on and found new love
Was it a gift from above
Turn about is fair play
He with the new life ,wife is happy today

She broken hearted dazed puzzled looked but did not blink
Tears falling ,she spoke quietly Karma at play ,I think
New love burns bright, then fades for all to see
The way things are ,not as they should be
She believes this is her punishment for wrongs of the past
Devil laughing in delight she must pay her dues at last

It’s hard to see your child broken hearted
Knowing there is nothing I can do when two have parted
A mother’s job is to listen not reply
In a broken heart many bombs lie

Hour spent rehashing the chain of events
The things said at each other exspence
I know in time this too will fade
If I could save her from the pain I would make the trade

So for now all I can do is be there for my child
cautiously watch what I say or Her words are not meek or mild
Why is it we take out our hurt on the ones we love
Wasnt that the first lesson we failed with God above

Hope faith and love
The most important of these
Is love
(Bible)
My daughter had a fight argument with her boyfriend of two years she is distraught calling me all day long I am happy to be there although I can’t do or say anything right
But mother’s never stop being a mother no matter the age  it’s just a little more difficult to  Council  an adult

Peter
Loved his wife of 14 years
He put her through school then
She left him broken hearted in tears

His life would never be the same
He started his downhill spiral of shame
Besieged with self doubt and blame
He turned to drugs to hide his pain

Christmas 2002
Peter came to my home spending his last dime
I did not know I would be seeing him for the last time
we laughed and drank a few beers how does that song go?
"still crazy after all these years"

I was in tears my marriage was dead
I told Peter of my escalating fights,
Every detail of the devastating words said
My marriage was on its last thread

Peter made me promise
Not to leave my husband having hope for my better life
He told me living was not worth it without his wife
I promise to give my marriage one more try
As we hug and said goodbye
A pain in  my heart, a tear in my eye

Peters flew home December 29, 2002
for our (oldest brother's)  Birthday
My three  brothers we're going to play
Peter had four motorcycles and was giving one away
If they each had a bike they would have more fun
To take long bike rides in the sun

The video camera rolling my brothers wife asks;
Aren't you afraid that you're going to die?
NO said Peter and here's why
" if I die riding my bike don't be Sad , be glad ,
I wouldn't died doing something I loved"
(An hour later God had taken him to heaven above )
Part two to follow of how he passed exactly
we have my brother on video telling us not to be sad if He died
one hour before he died  did he know subconsciously in his soul ?

Promises to keep; yet
Death is beating at my door
Rock myself to sleep
What Am I living for
when all I do is
Weep, weep, weep
Longing for life once more
   Promises to keep
The grim Reeper is keeping score
From my destiny chance; leap
Family, friends; ignored
All I want to do is
Sleep, sleep, sleep
   Promises to keep
No pain I implore
Please end it ever more; worrying
   Promises to keep
Upon the cold bare floor
Walking with Jesus once more
   No more promises to keep
In peace, I shall sleep
Cancer was a wake up call I'm fine now but those were dark days
Illegals whatever term is politically correct
The situation will worsen if left unchecked
hell-bent on taking America down
Started in the cities , and then in the towns

First they steal our ID then our home
They work in packs, groups, not alone
Protests pretense for violence in our streets
Enlisting people on the Internet with tweets

Wake Up! Where do we draw the line?
Civil unrest through the passage of time
Lessons ignorant Americans must learn
Emotions; anger rage hatred, to Discern

Protesters have become embolden
Is the United States now beholden?
Yet, if this was done in their country or land
Strict penalty Cut off their head or hand

Nations deride America as soft and weak
They want to bring her to her feet
They use intimidation to gain control
That’s what they learn, it’s all they know

Americans are frustrated by their rage
This is not how America chooses to engage
Push comes to shove what do we do?
America needs to stand up or die a fool

Illegal Immigrants invaded our land
Not to assimilate but to take a stand
Our values of freedom must stay the same
They claim to be Americans only In name

If all our rules are unacceptable don’t delay
There’s absolutely no need to stay
Red white and blue the American way
paid the price, freedom ,values, won’t sway

10 million people illegally now are here
Death to America is what they chant, cheer
Our government is responsible for this
To gain political power, tyrannical bliss

Pull back the curtain Eugenics at play
Powerful people demand their say
Our future is not going to end well
America, emerging AI, the new living hell

BLT where does the day challenge?
Deride 6-3-24
To DERIDE  someone or some thing is to subject them to usually harsh and bitter, insults or criticism
Americans need to stand strong together. Agree to disagree. Safety in numbers. We are at a precipice. There are forces that want to destroy America. we’re too busy squabbling amongst ourselves like bratty little children.. The whole thing about having a gun, the 2nd and 14th amendment in our constitution, is to protect us from The enemy, foreign and DOMESTIC . It’s not about these silly little issues. People will never see eye to eye. These are distractions they don’t matter. The bigger picture.. it’s about good versus evil. Think what it means for our nation to be A Marxist socialization humanization dictator Country. We are the only place on earth that is like America. Why do you think so many people want to get in your country even illegally? . I just don’t get why people don’t realize the consequences.

An epic narration poem
Which, by nature is an exception to the rule

Have you ever read a poem and thought wow! Holy cow!
What a really great story,
Imagery, Content, what a glory

But is it truly a poem?

For me, all these rules are confusing
Perhaps some might think I’m amusing
The length for which I search for clarity
I want to get it right for posterity

The importance is a matter of perspective
That would depend on your objective
posting  the first thing that pops into mind
Then this whole poem is a waste of time
A book of poetry published one day
Then this process is not ******* per-say

For inquiring minds that want to know
Condensed material I will precede slow
I’m only scratching the surface so
There is room to explore and grow

So, What’s the difference between
a story and a poem?

Websters dictionary states;
The essential difference
between a poem, and
a short story is
The difference of scope.

Typically Poems are short, and brief.
They tell you how the author is feeling
in a few words.

Short Stories are written by the author
Prose follows the natural form of speech ,
A Story highlight a moment; it contains A plot, themes, character development, and a descriptive time and setting.

A poem is written by a poet.
Lines act as sentence breaks
No formal prose are needed

A short story is written in sentences.
A poem has words or phrases that
sound good when read out loud.

Short stories fall into the The category of fiction or nonfiction.
Poetry is a category of itself.

Free verse poetry is void of rules
That’s were things get muddle
Leaving readers befuddled
Yet the freedom of poetry in motion
Is an.extraordinary elixir a magic potion
Creating something to behold
So elusive it’s hard to repeat the mold

poetry has no specific characteristics
it does not contain prose.
Poetry are formed in stanzas, which are a collection of poetic lines.

Some stanzas types are very specific quatrains set the standard of lines
Also a Rhyme scheme maybe required to identify a specific poetic structure, style.

A poem can contain more then one type of structure and name.there are always exceptions to the rules
These are the Identifying structures
for example

Couplets are sets of two lines stanzas
Triplet set of three line stanzas
Quintain four line Stanzas
Cinquain. Five line stanzas
Sestet six line stanzas
Septet seven line stanzas
Octaves eight line stanzas

this is not going to be an easy quest
My writing process will be put to the test
I write my poetry then figure out the rest
I have not figured what process is best?

This review maybe new
For me it’s an agenda of what to do
My goal to complete a poem in each style
I must admit It will take awhile
My never ending Quest

Thanksgiving
Propels us into night gear
Christmas almost here
Shop tell you drop

Christmas Day
Came and left as swiftly
I was tired from
All the hustle and bustle

Sitting at the dinner table I asked
What did you get Jesus
On his birthday
Blank stares from a
Confused group
A nervous roar of laughter

the children listening
unsure of what I was after
I smiled
Talking over
A Side comment or two
I began to explain; honesty, faith, and love

Those are gifts Jesus would want
Still the group seem lost in what answer
I was looking for
Then I heard it

Someone with a bit too much
Christmas Cheer
Cleared his throat and said
“Well Honestly
I gave him nothing”
Nervious roar of laughter
deafened my ears

My heart was so sad
I smiled and excused myself
From the table
Charity, patience,and forgiveness
Begins at home

All I can think of Is
Jesus
Dying for us
Saying
“Lord for give them they know not what they do”
I have so much to learn
That was awkward so not how I thought the conversation would go

1) The eagle and the hawk John Denver
2) The music in you by John Denver
In Northern California, there’s lots of wild animals with that comes The cleanup crew. Vultures are patient ravenous creatures that fly in groups. They sit in the trees nest on the side of the bank of the road and wait for the animal to die.
They take turns having their full Unphased by passing cars. They fiercely guard their food. Amazingly, the smell of a dead animal is completely gone before they leave. this took two days before they were onto the next meal.

When I was a child
I was alway board,My mom would say
Read a good book for a while
Today’s digital age that might sound strange
But getting lost in a book, a life rearranged
I could Image in vivid detail, words come to life, popped off the page
Experience situations; first love, true hate, violence, controlled rage
I flourished in the imagery of my imagination
perception limited only by age’s infatuation
I began to love school,with a book, self taught,homework a breeze
Comprehending subjects, life made sense, I was at ease
As I grew through the seasons
I saw my friends struggle in school, for many reasons
I asked my closest friends do you read non text books on your own
No they laughed, labeling me a nerd, one said you mean alone?
I realized school books were my ticket to any where
I could fulfill my dreams with the right books, I would make it there
I learned to be a professional student, class tests, so predictable to see
Different points of views interest me,
Pushing the teachers To challenge me became fun to win
School became a game I was a sponge soaking it all in
There were few teachers that challenged me to dig deeper within
Creative writing is really where my life truly would begin
I achieved every goal I set with drive and determination
I desired to leave my mark for my generation
Writing my life story is more then just a means to an end
So, If your a mother, grandmother,or good friend
If you hear a child say they are board
Tell them “to read a good book, and we can discuss it”
However if their nose crinkles, they say they hate to read
It’s your duty to Intercede
A trip to the library is all you need
Help them find a book so amazing they don’t want to put it down
When they carry that book reading it all around town
You know your job is well done
They will be hooked on reading and that’ only half the fun
where books take them on life’s journey, is as infinite as the stars
A much brighter future then  illiterate  battle scars

Hide in plain sight
They gave up on the fight
Playing video games all day long
Blaring music without hearing a song

Falling down the rabbit hole
Vegetation the goal
Television for the masses
Blank out with 3-D glasses

The perfect movie
in comfort, It’s all groovy
Popcorn, salty sugary candy
Mindless eating is handy dandy

Carefully Choose which genre,
Comity,Fear, Pleasures , or Pain
roller coaster, faster, plain insane
Emotions are now mundane

The goal ,entertained and numb
No need for education. Stay dumb.
Escapism needed, and necessary today
Thoughts wiped away, keep reality at bay

Tired of existing in wonderland
Wake up, realize, understand
Who controls the world? today
They Record what you do and say

Society, changing, rearranging, a Recluse
hostage in home, hangman’s noose
The groundhog cautiously looks around
Decides ,Without implication or sound

Nothing in reality exist, or can be found
Groundhog rather be back underground
Too much time to contemplate
spend it in an alternate state

It’s more than just a principality
It’s a comfortable home, full hospitality
The Make believe world is
Enticingly more appealing
Rather consider all it’s concealing

New world order, One world religion
Bigger, better ,brighter, lead the way
The tomorrow of your dreams today
No need to go back to yesterday

Artificial intelligence offers
Your heart ‘s content,
The perfect mate,
money well spent,

All an allusion; Date fall in lust ,
Artificial intelligence to admire
Everything on your checklist a must
Emotions that never expire

Once dead, every thought in your head
Every story, phrases quotes you said
The Proof you lived and ever existed
your brain can be implanted twisted

forever in a Machine, to learn humanity
And Society is pushing for that insanity
Baby boomers look back at the movies and cartoons like the Jetsons, outer limits outer space they were filling her head. Wayback win.

I ask, only this;
Please fill out your bio.
They really do help
the reader understand
you’re point of view.

I would not critique
a 15 year old
In the same way
I would a 75 year old.

To fully grasp a poem
Is different from

Word of  the day Raconteur

Mirror mirror on the wall
who’s the fairest of them all
I know the answer
and it’s not me
I’m a realist I can see

When I look in the mirror, today
I quickly turned away
my reflection is not my perception
I see myself younger, prettier too

What’s a 62 year old lady to do?
I concede, it is what it is
And I’m OK with that
because that’s where I’m at

When did this come to pass?
It’s been so long ago
I was a sweet young lass
I used to have so much naturally curly hair
I turned heads, men would stare

That was the 1980s  Disco Darling
I entered a legs contest on a dare
And Won, $100 I was up for anything!
Bodacious, audacious, braze, fearless
A dish, A movable Feast, A Fashion plate

I used to get dressed up, for a date
Applying make up, fixing my hair
Always The perfect designer outfit,
Head to toe ,dressed to the 9s
Designer perfume everywhere

Now an old lady stares back at me
It’s hard to contemplate, it’s hard to see
I am not vain, I think I’m rather plain
My inner beauty shines through
That’s what made me attractive, I knew

I’ve been married over 40 years
Lifelines, laugh lines, and many tears
My ****** lines are a badge of honor, courage, my testament of time
Fulfilling the grace in what is mine

To a Life lived full of love and sentiment
Children, grandchildren took their due
You could say my looks are shot
But this is what I’m working with
This is what I’ve got

Haggard through the ages of time
Outer beauty is no longer mine
I’ve developed inner beauty, peace of mind
In old age, that’s what I strive for, find

No need for make up it’s just a façade
I shrug my shoulders, a gentle nod
With menopause, make up mixed with sweat burns my eyes
I have become more wise

What’s a 62 year old lady to do?
This is as good as it gets
I don’t worry or fret
This is me

A Quintain  is poetry in a series of four lines that make up a stanza.
QUAGRE means Four
A Simple RHYME scheme would be ABCB used in each stanza throughout the poem
But not a requirement., no rhyme stanzas are perfectly acceptable.
There are eight different types of quatrains I am going to present them in the next couple of poems, that’s my goal.

Once a good opinion is lost
You never get it back
My husband and I met
A Lady with two dogs
while walking our dog

A new found friendship
Our friendship was inchoate
Vague still developing,
Not precisely clear
Enigmatic equivocal

Yes, I really enjoyed having a new friend
There were little warning signs
Little bark a little bite I paid no mind
She Lived alone, very lonely.
She asked for my number right away

A couple weeks past without incident
One day out of the blue, A text message
Saying mean angry things hard to hear
Some truth ,I immediately Apologized
I am sorry for having offended you.
That was not my intent.
I’m quick to call for a truce
an inferred armistice

She persisted, bullying controlling
in such a way Admonishing My behavior
Per decorum my way is to stay quiet
Mole over Contemplate Simmer
Let the immediate Intensity, die down
Hold my tongue don’t trade insult to injury
What did I do wrong? I was confused, hurt

She interpreted my silence
as me ignoring her feelings
demanded confrontation text ranting
Grew, Bolder The intensity increased
Do you realize your behavior?
It’s really rude, you need to modify your behavior, extremely disrespectful maybe your husband doesn’t care you treat him that way, but it bothers me that you do
Your husband hardly speaks.
(Well, that’s his way he listens).

Incessantly repeating
You need to modify your behavior.
You need a course correction
You’re rude controlling
Do you realize what you were doing?
I forgive you, BUT, IF
I decide to still walk with you

I you NEED you to Acknowledge your faults modify your behavior. She continued
You need a course correction
I tried to tell you what I’m going through but you didn’t hear me so I stopped trying.

Both my husband and I knew nothing of
what she claimed not an inkling
Thanking time apart, to cool the feelings
I countered with
well we’ll see you when we see you.
That was met with
Now you’re controlling
making your own plans
You need a course correction

I felt Backed in a corner to continue
a friendship with land mines IF I don’t talk then I’m brooding, sulking acting wounded IF
I talk unknown pitfalls land mines. It will
Happen again she’ll Explode blows up.

My only recourse end this tumultuous situation. My husbands thinks perhaps
she might be bipolar or worse
He had dealt an unstable ex girlfriend

I am extremely unsettled by this situation
I pressed to find out what I did stupidly
Thinking, rational conversation could fix it

The main offense  was speaking when she was talking, I think at times we all do that
But I generally liked her and listen to everything she said. I gave her things
A coat for her dog it didn’t fit my dog

She has an ex-husband, their seven-year battle in court the adult children, all sided with the father. I did not want to know more. in retrospect perhaps she wanted to tell me The sorted details. I’m not a gossipy person, and I don’t dwell in the past. My husband and I were content with the hi, by light hearted friendship we have developed

when she tried to pit my husband and I against each other that was the dealbreaker
I hope she’s OK. I generally care for her well-being, but there are limits. I don’t wish Ill-will I will be courteous, passing her in public, but we made The right call
I’m hard-pressed to know if I’m trying to convinced you or myself I am unsettled why

Walking in the park is my time with God
I just want to walk my dog in prayer.
Smiling at friendly faces everywhere
I’m hard-pressed to know if I’m trying to convince you or me I am unsettled why!

Footnotes
This situation has weighed heavy on my heart. Do you think somebody would think so little of me. I’m not perfect. I have faults but I really was trying to help a lady who had no electricity lived on her own and walked 2 1/half miles just to go to the park with her two dogs. She looked underweight and was struggling financially. I trying to help her look to her as if I was trying to control her. If I spoke and she felt she was still talking about some thing I could work on. That probably goes back to being one of the kids. But it was not intentional. Maybe I apologize too quickly. I’m just not interested in confrontation, but I miss my friend Even. each day, I would call her to see what time she was gonna walk her dog to her that was like really controlling the situation, but I was willing to change my schedule to work around her schedule. Although there were times when my husband said no, we’re going now. I think that bothered her. That was the iceberg the tip of the iceberg. As it is.
All of this silly drama unfolded while we were on 20 minute walk today and that was the extent of our interaction. It was always platonic superficial. It’s hard to take a deep look at yourself see what you could’ve done to super vent the situation. my husband on the other hand says he knew something was off from the beginning. Why didn’t I say that I thought I had a new friend

Do we think we know more then God
Many no longer believe there is a God

So Why are we afraid
And we are all afraid of something

We have no reason to be frighten
the comfort is in the Lord

IF you truly believe
there's nothing to be frightened of

"How is it you have no faith" Jesus asks
(Holy Bible)

Humanity is falling apart
Many have hardened their heart
They no longer believe

How can we justify the ****** of more then
58 million unborn babies since 1973
That is more deaths
Then all the wars put together

We must stop now

We ask for mercy killing of the elderly
Dr. Kavorian the killer of the old

We must stop now

When German parents have been imprisoned and fined for withholding their children from *** education class that teaches 9 year olds how to have *** (including homosexual ***)

We must stop now

When medical staff in Sweden and Portland have been fired for refusing to perform abortions because of their faith

We must stop now

Around the world pastors and clergy
are feeling the heat by refusing  to perform same-*** marriages

We must stop now

Look around the world human trafficking ,: terrorists senseless killings
the war is in our shopping malls, at concerts

We must stop now

Lack of belief leads our society down a round where morals are no longer present

The line between right and wrong
is no longer blurred it's completely gone

We must stop now

Wide is the path of many
that leads to distraction
narrow is the path of few
that lead to righteousness

We must stop now

The Christians who walking the path of righteousness are ridiculed as prejudice, close minded,  attacked for their beliefs
Christians are to be tolorent to the sinners

What is happening in the world when right is wrong and wrong is right

We must stop now

A child stamps her feet
Holding a sign
Looking around
in  wide-eyed FEAR
Watching her mother

A new generation
Indoctrinated
Lack of emotion
Emancipated

From rules and decorum
From respect for others
Soul less empty forum

Her mother lights a
Molotov cocktail
Holding it high,
HER holy grail
While walking
down the middle
of the street
chanting
“there is
NO Defeat”
Yelling, screaming
FISTS clenched
in the air
IT’S NOT FAIR

Her ****** expression
Hate,
Distorted

Her kindness, and beauty

There  comes a point ,when the person

A school poet" Clever"
Stated she was NOT allowed
To participate in the scheduled WALKOUT
They escorted her back to her classroom
Less she face Repercussions
that would linger on her school record
permanant  suspension
Walk out vs family trust
The administration even
locked the bathroom doors
And exits for 17 minutes
Instead the students were given 17 minutes
Of free  exspression
TO DO AND SAY WHAT WHAT EXACTLY
The didn't say she couldn't walk out
The choice was not a choice
it was an ultimatum
Rather like a bully tactic
Which is why the students are
here in the first place
At first I like many believed
There is a fine line between integrity
And a students true intent solidarity
Rather just a ploy no classes for the day
Until my grandson told me about
A shooting in the park
he just walked through
To get to school
He arrived in time for the lock down
His older brother's friend died in his arms
Neither youth attended that school
That were walking to work
His friend feared he would be jumped
Ask his brother to walk with him
As an educator I have to wonder
What is the problem
A gun has no power on its own
It's the hearts bad minds of the user
There has to be a better way
To keep our children safe
I don't think a walk out is the answer
It's not a bad idea to
Educate teacher in self defense
As a person we should all know
It's a sign of our times
Thank you clever for the poem inspiration

On the radio today
I heard something I could not believe
To my dismay

Church goers want the to bring guns to church
Congregation in decay
I understand the fears
predicated from a billion tears

However I laughed at the obserity of it all
the mass shooting of people left in the lurch
But Guns in church
That is not how we should answer the call

it’s open season  on christians who believe
Yet church is a place of hope, love, faith, not to deceive
What an oxymoron to be told
Christians !
its going to get worse a test, we’re out in the cold
Instead of reaching for a gun
Drop to your knees pray to God’s Son

Be observant watch those diligently
who are near
Give it to God
there is nothing to fear

Satin is winning
He laughs in delight grinning
We don’t even believe he is real
To those Luke warm  Christians it’s no big deal

This is a sign of our times
When right from wrong people don’t even know
Not believing is a crime
We need to learn pray and grow
Our society today is so lost

Close as two sisters can be
Sister Sue and Mary Lou you’ll see
They grew together then went their way
Bound by emotion. A hug is all they say.

Sister, Sue, and Mary Lou
Twins, lives in twined they grew
They held each other, love and Tears
Streamed through their eyes mixed fears

Every day they spoke on the telephone
Keeping in touch, never felt alone
They mostly got along hardly fought
To find husbands is what they thought

Sister, Sue, and Mary Lou
Were each other’s glue
Boyfriends came and went
Their emotions slowly spent

Even though they lived apart
Relationships shaped The same heart
Couplings unsustainable they’ll broke
Praying perfect companion heaven spoke

A tragic way for sister Sue, and Mary Lou
Destined to be just them too
The closest Bond of love, they knew
They wanted more then sad depressed blue

Time marched by sister, Sue, and Mary Lou
Realized love was not meant to be
If one in love, not the other, Three off-kilter
Through rose colored glasses Jaded filter

It was to be for all to see An emptiness
Brewing in them a deep sadness
This insuperable story of twins,
Who achieved A great deal,

Because they never gave up
They never gave in, they Believed

Is it’s by design? If so, whose design?
No doubt, we will have more

It seems as if we were to be kept distracted, so we don’t see what’s going on behind the scenes. If we’re fighting with each other, we can’t see or focus on what the rest of the world is doing. We need to wake up we need to understand, nefarious people want to steal our land.
