Durable 8-10-24
Things or people that are durable and remain strong over a period of time. Something that lasts, in good condition.

There are times I will write a poem, and it  will get 20 views. The next poem will get None.
In today’s climate, you’re lucky if you get 10 comment. It’s rather frustrating when you review minimum 30 poems a day and people don’t reciprocate. Sure you benefit from reading their poetry. But when others read your poems, you can get a sense whether you’re on the. Mark or you missed it all together. The societal climate is fickle. However I am blessed to have a community of friends here on HP.

St. Patrick’s Day
In the local pub
I met my love
Drinking a pint of brew
He swept me off my feet
We fell in love before we knew
Romance so sweet

However I had a major problem an issue
I cried through a box of tissue
He had a tattoo of his ex-wife name
It night have been the end game

Big bold letters on his upper arm
His handsome facade lost its charm
Trish, my wish I wanted it removed
But what would that prove

Outwitting an unwilling participant
While His new lady love enchants
Tattoo a final decision to make
It could be the end of a beautiful romance

Winning will not be a piece of cake
We are both opinionated headstrong
An argument lasting all life long
A miracle it will take don’t forsake

The humiliation was my curse and cause
Except the past else relationship pause
We needed to find an amicable solution
To cease irreconcilable harm
He was impervious to my suggestions
We were at odds, on opposite sides
A revolution An amicable resolution

My darling man of reason
Wanted to clear the air
Avoided committing  treason
He wanted to be fair

In hindsight it might be a different ride
Some tattoos are hard to hide
he wondered how he would feel
If his wife had another man’s name for real

On her *** now that’s a show of style and class
The ex-wife carries His name without shame
still on her **** cheeks large letters, nice and neat
He smirked at the visual and size

He wonders as he slumbers What her
new boyfriend Would think deduce
White flag he issues calls for a truce

I hold my temper,
but stood my ground
I smiled spoke in a soft sweet voice
Miraculous patience I found
Leaving him little to no choice

Well, dear my name is not Trish
Resolution is, my only wish

The day was done
a clever girl Won
Sublime heart and mind
Contentment for all of time
I would find

Was it such a large price to pay?
What would you do or say?
to resolve the situation
in amicable way?

If He added a line under the letter T in Trish
He can represent Irish
40 years of marital bliss
Came down to this
a simple line
in the proverbial sand
ain’t love grand

my darling lad drinks a pint of brew
to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
to pass the time away of the change of his tattoo
The luck of the Irish now he knew

Happy wife happy life
A tattoo is forever think twice
Your decision might cause strife
Any name is simply a roll of the dice

Now, my Irish pappy
isn’t really Irish but remains happy
Resolution on his arm sleeve
a lesson learned a tale to believe

A pay out of money from a Fun that has been created for a special purpose. Money that is paid out.

THIS WAS ACTUALLY A TRUE STORY FROM YESTERDAY IN THE LOCAL NEWS

I was on a cruise. My husband had been in the casino all night  Long playing, I came in to see what was going on. I sat down add a corner machine the maximum quarters. And I won $680. I did not even Play one time after I won the money. Then I left the casino. His friend came along put in 2/4 and one nothing. The rest of the trip I was the biggest winner because I left.
The most money I ever lost was $40. I am not a gambler but I have a strategy. I start with $40. If I win some thing I put half of my winnings in my pocket plus the money I started it then I play the winnings so the biggest amount of money I would lose this $40, but most the time I left a winner because I don’t like to gamble. It’s a waste of time and I can’t afford to gamble.
I won $350 playing craps, took the money and went and bought a leather jacket at the hard rock café so I wouldn’t be tempted to put the money back in the casino. There’s a lot of other things to do in Las Vegas and gamble.!

Is cultivated structured, planned, made
He responds better rested, well paid
Handlers near, He hides in a blockade

He starts off strong, but can’t last long
He can’t speak dance or sing a song
He doesn’t know where he belongs

He stands out ,awkward in the mix
Needs downtime to program another fix
A well oiled machine knows the tricks

Tall tale signs practice to deceive
reiterate the theme until all believe
American People are not that naïve

Regurgitate phrases, people in a daze
Mindless masses follow the craze
Blind obedience, ignorant haze

Occasionally , He will misfire
That’s when He should retire
Yet they prop him up and falsely admire

Too feeble to read his lines
If judged, he will never do time
continues to perpetuate another crime

When it all goes south
Blunders bloopers comes out of his mouth
Blame insanity says the speaker the house

He stutters, mutters, then stalls
He shuffles his feet and falls
A blank look He stares at the walls

He shakes a hand yet nobody is there
Bewildered, he falls up the stairs
Sadder still his handlers Don’t care

He can’t get off the stage
Easily confused, his tone He can’t gauge
Has trouble reading what’s on the page

The media’s prepackaged narrative
Fact, checkers, collaborative
Concealing the truth is Imperative

Keep in line, Lock stock step together
Party Polar opposites, birds of a feather
Another four years we cannot weather

A debacle for the world to see
Destroying America Land of the free
But he gets away with it! How can that be?

How did we end up here?
Protesters yell” Death to America” cheer
This is only going to get worse, I Fear

The U.S., a strategic coup, is it our fate?
Will we stand or will we capitulate?
At a precipice, wake up before it’s too late.

In the 1980s this was a very real thing for me. I was engaged to a VP of a film company who dealt in foreign distribution he was the money man. The one who got the budget for a movie.as I got to know him I realize that I was just his little trophy we have been together a little over a year. I think he was impressed with the fact that I saw him as a man not a star or something more. I was never one of those fans who went after the stars..
Although I learned a lot about writing screenplays, reading Scripps and the business
All of the lavish parties
All that glitters is not gold.
I remember a young Tom Hanks The movie bachelor party He was an unknown then.
always a party at the end of the day, basically when you watch the dailies
of what was shot that day.
I knew what everybody’s salary on that  film.
. It was part of the budget . Its star gets paid based on their rating. For example, if you’re a blockbuster, you have an A rating .
This was a low budget movie.
This guy came up and said
if I sleep with him, he’ll make me a star
I laughed. He was barely more than an extra.
I said you be nice to me I might be your
boss one day. Then I walked away.
That’s when I realized I was not going to be anybody’s arm candy.
I gave;back his ring and kissed him. Goodbye. I met him years later he still wanted to continue a relationship I had moved on, but we were friends.

We wear many elaborate masks
For many different laborious tasks
The moment the mask Comes off
Our fragile emotions aloft

Unwise ,we jeopardize
Right before our eyes
Overwhelming, Exasperation
defines exploration
For who we truly are
A poet, A romantic dreamer
wishing upon a star
Perhaps a heart with
a deep, gaping, cavernous scar

Reality rears it’t Ugly head,
love or hate we made our preverbal bed
We each have a choice to make
For goodness sake, We choose our fate

No longer we can hide
That which is inside
A pinnacle moment,We must decide
Now equipped with clarity to see
And understand
who we truly NEED to be

We can’t put that monster back in the box
No matter how many locks
We can’t unring the Bell
Even that road has a story to tell

The totality of the question lingers
As answers slip through our fingers
From over the horizon to the pit of hell
Finally we can descry
However daunting, The encompassing
question of Why!, we cannot deny
What Still remain, that which keeps us sane

Do we want to BE that person?

On eating Human Flesh
Cannibalism
Over 50 McDonald’s
closed after human flesh
was found in their food
First they blame the US
then they capitulated
That it must’ve been a prank

The New York Times wrote
A well known chicken manufacturer
had human DNA detected
(They show the Chinese manufacture
of the chicken plant.
I choose to not mention the name)
I will give you a link to the actual video at the end of this poem

If
McDonald’s
is your kind of place
It has a different taste
Sautéed flesh in your face
After all, it’s no disgrace
McDonald’s
Is your kind of place.

Wikipedia Will give The benefits of cannibalism.
Population is growing
supply and demand to eat meat.
There’s simply Not enough for everyone.
In tough times it could help you survive. And to escape the stigma start off slow eat your pets first!.
I kid you not
Barbarism is defined as the absence of culture and civilization by extreme cruelty and brutality. If we can normalize the whole process of civilization,
The New York Times,
A taste for cannibalism
pointed out Hollywood latest trend;
books and movies that suggest in the end times (if you can stomach it) are based on the topic of cannibalism.
Pop culture is pushing that says just let it go as as yeah, pop culture has a say in anything well, perhaps I do.
The psychology of totalitarian
the book by Matias  Desmet
His world is in the grips of a dangerous collective type of hypnosis as he bear witness to the loneliness, free-floating society and fear, giving way to censorship, losing privacy Surrendered freedom it’s all
Spurred Buy a singular focus crisis narrative that forbid, descent views, and relies on destructive group think Desmet works on do whatever they are told by the authoritarianism that from the masses the narrative to new normalization is cannibalism obey. Why is cannibalism so in right now?
In the 70s there was a movie called
Soylent Green, which was set in the year 2022 the green crackers the people were being fed were dead people.
The dystopian government processing the dead into food to feed the masses.
Curiously today nearly 1,000,000 people have disappeared
Australia, 20,000 children missing each year Canada 450,000 children missing each year Germany 100,000 children missing each yr Jamaica 96,000 children missing each year Russia 45 million children missing each yr Spain 20,000 children missing each year United Kingdom
112 Thousand children missing each year America 460,000 children missing each yr

I’ve heard stories about the Rich and famous drinking blood chromium taken from scared, frightened children
Satanic rituals, traffic kids
When you have numbers of near 1 million per year children disappear.
Why is that not the most important thing?
Now, add cannibalism” you gotta put the bodies somewhere”
that’s the way it was presented in this webinar.
Factor fiction did children missing are fact. It’s hard to conceive any notion of this
So I’ll start with, would you believe?!

There’s no set age

Life is the gauge

This whole fiasco

Had my doctor told me
Of the possibilities

Jump up

Ready to set in

Cramps are not just
in the leg,
the upper arms,
the middle of your back
It’s just like that
No rhyme no reason
it’s menopause season

It’s more than just a cramp.
That won’t let go.
It seems to reach
My very soul.

Just when you hit
Your all time low,
there’s something new
Starting to grow

Restless leg syndrome
that’s a mouthful
The legs, have a mind
of their own

It drives me mad
This is not driving Miss Daisy
It’s driving me crazy

I wish I only had these conditions
Just add him to the list
Breath, focus,  cry
Wondering why

Getting through it
Stay calm,
it will go away
In a bit
These can be extremely bad
The worst condition I’ve had

I never imagined
There was something
worse
than body cramps

Restless leg syndrome
will make you beg
Please stop
Bending twist hop
God help
I’m at Wits end
Too much to contend

literally are not sure
what comes next
Perplexed

Body cramps vs Restless leg
Which is worse
Order me a casket,
A long black hurst
Can you get them
both together?
Thankfully, not yet

Jump before the
Leg sensation sets in
The body in a tailspin

Dead tired I need sleep
Life can’t get more bleak
Standing waiting for relief
rocking back and forth
Rational emotions head north
Is this par for the course?
Questioning my sanity
By duration immensity

by the side of my bed.
The sensation grows
lacking body self control
How long before they let go?

this new phenomenon
Does a number
In your head.

Women
One sure sign
You’re in menopause;

When you’re
standing
in the kitchen
Naked
with your head
in the freezer

And your husband
Treads lightly with Care
Broken egg shells everywhere
Does not dare engage
His wife a wild
Animal in a gilded cage
A quick glance
he Looks away
quickly walks by
He hears her muffled cries
Caution in his eyes
He has a million questions
Does not ask why

In frustration
All you can do

The English word “Merry”
Did not originally convey
“Jolly,mirthful”
It was more along the lines of
“Blessed,peaceful”
A deep down inner joy
Rather then revelry
One gets a sense of its original meaning
In the well known carol
“God rest ye merry, gentlemen “
As can be seen from the comma
The word is not used to describe
“Jolly”gentleman
But rather was a
Blessing from God
Invoked upon them
God rest ye peaceful gentlemen
Thus
Merry Christmas
Is a Blessing

I Watched the movie on Mind  Control its disturbing. During the 19th and 20th century they perfected techniques on conditioning man to be dumb down in school. Complacent, complicit, obeying what they were told.Experiments such as Pavlov conditioning, (first with dogs,) teaching them when they ring the bell it’s time to eat. The bell made the dogs salivate in anticipation. Such a way with humans. television is a tool to keep humans asleep. There are two types of people those who are sheep and blindly follow and those who will not conform. If you’ve ever seen a show with a hypnotist who  will get audience participation. He can put them under hypnosis. Yet some cannot be hypnotized. Those people are ostracized. The elite must get rid of them. They are problems. This is been going on since the beginning of America . The elite have perfected their techniques. Nonetheless, some have woken up! These realities are disturbing, but true.!

The proverbial line was crossed
Her moral compass found her lost
How far down that road will she go?
Traveling the den of iniquity **** show

The Situations she finds along the way
Lessons to learn, things she doesn’t say
Can she see the humanity in the sign?
Or has corruption diluted the test of time?

15-year-old girl’s dilemma at youth group
Struggling right vs wrong ethics to recoup
Meetings at the minister’s home
Her wild wayward youth to atone

The kids were given a 15 minute break.
She don’t know why for goodness sake
In the playhouse on church ground
They smoked *** with no one around?

That’s where she drew the line
For her it was A sacrilegious crime
Not On Church Grounds
Moral High horse she knew how it sounds

She said she would tell,
Her personal persona fell
They said they would say she did it too
That’s when she knew what she had to do

They laughed and lit the joint
Well she realized their position and point
She stood against all her church friends
In front of the minister parents to her end

Spoken truth yelling parents came undone
her world crashed and burned not fun
In ithe end, one friend stood by her side
Morals judgments, it was a wild ride

Many lives were destroyed that day
Repercussions of her moral decay
10+ years to correct what she had done
Before she was happy, smiling , in the sun

Finally she found her stride never alone
She was a gadabout Who was rarely home
souvenirs conquests from who she became
Playing her moral relativism game

Careful when you dig up
the past
Sometimes will get you *****
He who has the most
Toys, superfluous. Excess
By end of life wins

Search strive bleed for it
When we obtain what we seek
hollow emptiness

Unquenchable thirst
Contentment within our grasp
Always wanting more

Haiku
A modern haiku, like their traditional counterpart are short, focused on a single, a vocative moment or experience.
They often use strong imagery to create an impression on the reader.
While the 5 – 7– 5 syllable structure is often considered a starting point for traditional haiku modern haiku, poets are often experimenting with different line lengths and syllable counts. According to the haiku foundation and the poetry foundation. Traditional haiku have to do in nature..
While other types deal with human nature. It can be confusing, identifying the different types of haiku without, The poet.
Haiku is a wonderful expression of poetry.
English haiku differs from Japanese haiku as the language gives a different syllable count.
I call this poem a modern haiku in that it is using the theme of human frailty instead of nature,
even given the option of a different line syllable length as a traditionalist fundamental structure should not be altered.

When and Where
Murphy’s Law
came into existence
I really don't care!
Who the heck is
Murphy?
And WHY does He make the laws
The loud noice of the refrigerator
Could be heard down the hall
I knew It was only a matter of time
Murphy’s Law
While in the Hospital
For my total knee replacement
Which turned out to be complicated
By removal of screws
12 inch Incision
Murphy’s Law
The pharmacy refused
to fill my pain meds because they are opids
My surgeon argued with insurance and the pharmacy while
I sat in the car 112 degrees heat
It took four days to fill meds
Use ice the pharmacy advised
Murphy’s law
The refrigerator broke
Released from the hospital
In a wheel chair I entered Best Buy
Purchased the refrigerator
that delivered quickest
Overpriced, paid too much
All the food I had went bad
Murphy’s law
My husband found out he need
Emergency Surgery for Cancer
Murphy’s law
A much needed trip to the market
To stock up, had to be done
Murphy’s law
The  Electric cart was bumpy
jerking my knee, pain spasms
The cart broke down
I was only half done
Murphy’s law
My husband needed to take a cab
Home after his surgery
as I could not drive
and he could not drive home
Murphy’s Law
The hospital would not
release him to a cab driver
I had to take a cab
to pick up my husband
Murphy’s Law
I could not get into
the cab without assistance
The cab driver was not
permitted to touch me
In tears, sliding myself
into the back seat
Murphy’s Law
The surgery center wanted
me to come inside
the cab driver said
If you get out of the car
You must pay first
then we will count the wait time
It would be considered a new fare
I stayed in the car
Murphy’s Law
It cost 68 dollars
to drive 12 minutes
plus  my husbands previous fare
we paid over 150 dollars
High way robbery
Murphy’s law
His surgery was must worse then  Anticipated plus
My knee is now infected
Both of us are unable
to help care for the other

The vivid pictures
The strong emotions
I have music
For every mood

Our poetry is

It flows
Washes over us

Takes us back to a moment
Vivid pictures
Strong emotions

My heyday was the 1970s Living in Southern California, rock ‘n’ roll and every type of bands from easy listening, country, and everything in between. My youth church group in an. attempt to open dialogue between the teenagers and parents asked each person to bring in their favorite album. And we were going to have Music appreciation and talk about that particular album. So that meant somebody who brought in John Denver got equal respect as somebody who brought in the Doors or Led Zeppelin, Simon & Garfunkel.
In comparison, Simon & Garfunkel is mellow by rock ‘n’ roll standards but back then it was on the blacklist of evil music.
To see the underbelly of music
search on bands that sold their soul to the devil. Or search devil music. You won’t believe the singers and their interviews. John Lennon on that list

What is it about the holidays that makes people nice
Even those who don’t believe
It surprises me sometimes, i’ll look at a person twice
For most it’s an act of practice to deceive

Capitalizing on the Christmas season
Those are the people who are lost
they’re making mounds of money, that’s thier reason
Serving deception at all cost

However the rest of the year
they will shove you down
won’t think twice,  even give a cheer
Another feather, coin is thier crown

So why be so kind
I know I sound jaded
Cold people are easy to find
While humanity, compassion have faded

In the end it doesn’t matter, I prefer to think most care
Thier motives very For the rest
millions of people give and share
This is a Christian’s test

I wish my fellow man compassion that would last forever
I wish Everyone follows God’s law, I know they can
I wish there would be no hatred, violence, not never
I wish peace on Earth and goodwill towards man
I see extreme kindness and so much deception with the way the Christmas message is presented  in stores  people have to wake up and realize the reason for the season Christmas trees cannot even be called Christmas trees anymore now it’s a holiday tree well hello what is the holiday for

Nana wants very slow
perfect for little legs
to keep up
wherever they go

The whole world rushs by
yet stops for them
in the wink of her eye
there is nothing more important
then the tears of her grandson's cries

Play time a must at Nana's house
building a castle out of Play dough
for Mickey Mouse
playing games, reading books
watching them grow
time is priceless she knows

Nana can see no wrong
in the innocence of childhood
Her unconditional love is a lullaby
a sleepy night song
morning, noon, and night
a smile graces her face
there's no place
like home
except

She is there by your side
She will walk with every stride

Nana’s touch
She loves you with all her heart
A special bond that will never part
She makes you feel 10 feet tall
Just with her look doing nothing at all

Nana’s touch
Gives you the encouragement you need
To conquer the mountains towards succeed
To ease disapproval that makes you cry
Her smile, she has a gleam in her eye

Her arms are a warm embrace
Being around her is a safe place

I will hate you as
long as you live!
NO matter what
you do or say
I will NEVER forgive.
Your not my mother
as of Today

Hatred
in a heart
Is destined
to rip it apart
You expect this
from a child
A teenager
willfully and wild
Inability to forgive;
festers, and grows
What you reap
you shall sew

Feeding
these feelings
is all she knows.
When a mixture of
childhood memories
Are twisted
fact and fiction
distorted with time
Love turned to hate
she is no longer mine

Physiologist today
Play the blame game
An off-spring’s
behavior
Rest solely
On the parents;
Unloved, uncaring
absent parents
Never sharing

However
In her case
that’s not true
A weekend, dad
and a  step-father
She never appreciated
what she had
Much love
in a mostly
happy home

Her Memories,
stories ,fabricated.
to deflect
her irrational
behavior.
I did not teach
her to lie and steel,
She needs to rely
on a narrative
to circumvent
The way
she treats
her children,
Their traumatic ordeal

“It!s not about
what is REAL”
“It’s about
what I feel”
However, when
I mentioned
let’s talk
to your
Phycologist together!
Absolutely never
of course Not
that would expose
the whole
ball of  wax
That says a lot!

How about the way
I feel!
What about
My ordeal
A Disabled
Mother
Elderly abuse
swept under the rug
I’m Afraid
of her aggression
Add thirty years
of built repressed
unadulterated
hate and rage

Forgiveness,
turn the page
I’m guilty
Of many things
Of letting her hit
abuse me
I became
her whipping Post,
physically, emotionally
I am guilty of
Not holding
her accountable
For her actions.

The abuse
verbal and physical
Demons are fed
with time apart
Time for HATE
to harden the heart

parents are at fault
for many things
I was a young mother
Children don’t come
with instructions
Convinced by these facts,
In all the qualities I lack
This realization
will not change a thing.
The past is the past.

How can I help my child
To see, to know ,accept
a good upbringing
not perfect by no means
Dealing with a willful child
Stubborn
, a war of wills
Always determined
to get her way
I use to say
“this is a difficult age”
My husband reply
“You say that every year”!

Footnote
Every day all day long, we make choices between doing something good or doing something bad evil. Each of us have the capacity to be the good Samaritan or to be somebody’s nemesis. And the person we choose in the path we take is predicated on who we are and what we feed
Most people don’t know ,in the parable of the good Samaritan. The injured  man on the ground was the Samaritan’s worst enemy. His nemesis. Yet he showed kindness and passion.paying for his care.
I used to think age was a state of mind
Working my whole life nose to the grind
Turbulent years have not been kind

Was there a specific moment life rearranged
When I began to notice change
Overtime life dreams became estranged

Began to move a little slower love not as bright
Cancer demands choices joy is out of sight

Illness take its toll
Pain can change the soul
Bulging disc back spasms knees give out
Numb feet neuropathy pain throughout

Forgetful, lost thoughts
The haves, and the have Nots
Memory once Sharp as a tack
Scatterbrain recollection now I lack

I understand why they call
Alzheimer
The long goodbye
Why, did I come into this room?
Frustrated can’t remember gloom looms

Legs give out falter unexpected falls
Yelling, screaming, crying, deaf ear calls.
On the floor flat on my back
processing where I am at

Not completely aware
How I came to be there
Mental assessment first things first
Instant flood of pain burst

Anything broken bleeding bruised
Knot on the head, lose tooth, blood oozed
I rub emollients to soften and sooth
Aspercreme BenGay, which one to choose

Triage situation urgent versus emergency
Elderly fall risk develop a contingency
Scrapes cuts occasionally a broken wrist
Off kilter slipped twist landed on the fist
Unable to get up nobody around
Floundering helplessly on the ground,

Surgeries total replacement both knees
Unable to put pressure on both of these
Not as simple as it sounds,
To pick yourself up off the ground
I can roll over
Than what?

Scoot crawl wiggle on my backside
Down the hall iPhone the goal my guide
Traverse down a few stairs a slide cried
Instant pain runs down the spine
Pray every moment for strength I’ll be fine

Solution: need a chair to pull up on
Everybody gone for how long?
Quickly learn to fend for myself
Shoot, the iPhone up high on the 3rd shelf

A horrific thought resides
Creeping seeping an emotional tide
After a fall my friend died
He hit his head on the kitchen granite table
Wounded bleeding Unconscious unstable

He could have lived the police surmise
Elderly incapacitated facts surprise
Investigation what happened evidence resides
Estimated  time on kitchen floor for three days
In and out of consciousness, craze haze

He bleed to death.
On the kitchen floor
His daughters will confess
Never able to talk to him ever more

Nobody came to visit. Not a single call
Loved ones should not die from a fall

A prominent man of well to do means
Living situation wasn’t what it seems
A celebrated man of stature
Tasked in war enemy capture
A battleship under his command
Near his end, he can hardly stand

father of two his children the man they never knew his adoptive family battleship cast and crew
Perhaps each were too busy with their own
His death they will atone
So many elderly alone

All the lonely people were do they all belong

AN EMOLLIENT IS SOMETHING SUCH AS A LOTION THAT SOFTENS AND SOOTHES
I am 64 and my husband is 77. We’re in a new phase of life and it’s not always pretty . My husband is falling all the time, he rolls over and falls out of bed. I had to put up a bed rail. He’s got all his faculties about him, but his numb feet makes him unsteady neuropathy. This is just a brief little picture of some of the elements we’re dealing with, but surely this is  a typical picture of the elderly today. We are now in the phase when our friends are dying I pray. today is a precious gift. sometimes I worry what tomorrow
Will bring. Is today our last normal day??. what will I need to do to survive when he ‘s gone?. Tomorrow is promised to no one live today to the fullest. It could be your last day.. the worry of the unknown I don’t let it take hold, but sometimes it gets the best of me.. death will come for us. All all we can do is smile when he comes to call..

For some It’s the traditions
They have the same list, then editions
The thought of bettering your life
Being kinder to your children and wife
It’s not such a bad desire
What will you complete
Before you expire?

The same three goals on my list
I completed two with a little twist
I’ve added two more
To even the score
And I’m ready for the New Year
My goals in check, I’ll Cheer

Food for thought perhaps
Others live in a bubble and take naps

Not concerned with something so absurd
They do what they need to get heard
IF It happens, It happens  who’s to say
Let things come as they go, to their dismay
After all Needs change every day
It’s an extraneous process at play

It’s rather interesting
This all or nothing concept
Either you make a list Or you don’t
Either you want to set goals or you won’t
So you’ll think about It,Or we’ll see

procrastination is
Barking up the wrong tree
Now that this little ditty is done
It’s not a winner loser ,Who won
It’s food for thought, This is true
From my poetry desk, To You

Either you believe in them or you don’t
Either you will keep them or you won’t

Why would anyone want to make a list
If all they write will be dismissed

For me it’s a bit like therapy
Looking deep within me

Evaluating the last year
What I held dear what I fear

I have to visit my past
To achieve a future at last

I formulate goals and dreams
And begin to look between the seems

Two categories are devised
Personal goals and future, dreams a list analyzed

My completed list is etched in my brain
If I blow it mess up a day, I don’t go insane

I don’t throw in the towel tomorrow’s a new day
I keep the same motivation the same values the same way

In the end it’s for a better me
That something I can live with you see

I encourage you all to try this process, make a list that will last
the old you will be not be miss but a thing  of the past
Each day is a new beginning and the possibilities are in less

A random act of kindness
Imagine a better life a better world
one we can all be proud of
A  pipe dream,Perhaps
But what if?We gave

A random act of  kindness
to just one person Imagine!
Lives changed Love is in the air
forgiveness everywhere
Peace in every heart It ‘s plausible.

Where do we start?
A friend,A neighbor, The homeless
People don’t bother to see them.
Driving I saw a man sitting on the ground
Holding a sign with three letters on it VET

A small dulcet voice said, “help him”
as I passed him by Do I  turn around?
That would require 10 minutes
on the freeway out of my way.

I reasoned, On the way back,I bought
lunch and a cold bottled water excited
I hoped The man would still be there
But Scary Thoughts creeped in what if?
When I roll down the window to let the outside in, something bad happens

it’s a Quandary I look like easy prey
Friend or Foe,In Today’s climate, it’s dangerous,On the side of the road, by a freeway offramp I honked my horn.

Heart pounding I unrolled the window
I asked “What Branch of military Did you serve? “Army first battalion infantry
He snapped to, pop tall, and smiled
He had one tooth a thin ***** body,

I saw A HERO,with respect and dignity. I thanked him for serving our country. I
Apologized for my meager attempt to make it OK. He asked,” I saw you before what made you come back? I heard a beautiful dulcet voice I said God told me to help you

He studied me for a moment Then grinned
God bless you, he said, as he walked away
I wondered Who was helping who. Do onto others, as you would have them do unto you. That man bled in battle to defend us

A random act of kindness will feed your soul Don’t let the right hand know
what your left hand is doing
Offer generosity in silence of others

Don’t help somebody and boast about
