Euphoria 10-25-24
Refers to a feeling of great happiness and excitement in town, feeling floating on air

When I take communion, something comes over me. My soul weeps deep inside I cry. And I pray for the world. For world is peace. A. Euphoria comes over me as the Holy Spirit washes away, my repentance and my prayers with the blessing of pure Bless. This feeling is known to last for the rest of the day. People would say oh you’re crying can I help you and when I push them away and say I am in Bliss they want to rub my arm as  if My euphoria will rob off on them.
Oh people of little faith.

Many kids go to wild and exotic
Ports of call
Some do nothing at all
My grandson made a choice
He wanted to help use more then his voice

My middle grandson is my  sweet honey
He called for help for money
He was going to Mexico with the church youth group
To rebuild three houses to help families recoup

This trip wasn’t free
there was a fee
Five hundred dollars each
They were not just sitting on the beach

The week is done
The church made work fun
But more importantly
Families gained stability

The choices the youth make
Will be remember values resonate
My grandson walks a little taller
He gave more then just a dollar

He gave love
I’m so proud of my 15 year old grandson and his involvement in the church
Two Haiku
First, the statement
Second, the reply

Don't capitulate
Stand now before it’s too late
Believe life is great

Arbitrate We win
Standing strong Both sides give in
Now life can begin
Two poets two Haiku
One makes a statement or reflection
The second answers. Or reply
For this exercise, I am both poets.
it’s cheating a little I know
I wanted to try this form

We each Stop by to read A poet’s, rhyme and verse
This journey is a gift, not a curse

While the soul is exposed
With honesty many truths are divulged

Get to know the writer in a poem or two
This is what I invite us all to do

Start at a poet’s first poem

Read the first poem posted on this site
The progression and confidence, a constant fight

Poet’s linger on subjects for a while
Regurgitating the demons on trial

If you read carefully, between the lines
You will begin to understand the writer’s mines

With A since of respect and comerodity the reader may find
Perhaps friendship can be found if your two of a kind

The first poem took the longest to write
It was the first thought , voiced on this site

So, Go back to the beginning and gain a new insight
A better understanding of your fellow poet’s plight

Many great poems are lost among the stroke of our pen
Let them re-live and shine again

Our president  was elected by the people
When has that been positive for everyone
Yet some are not happy
Our society of entitlement
It’s a sign of our times
Our society is based on ME first

I watched the Grammies women complained
Not everyone can win
You can please some of the people some of the time
But you can’t please everyone all the time

The state of the union was like
School children unwilling to play together
Life is not fair who ever said life is fair
Then complaining when a certain person
doesn’t  get what they want
It’s so childish

The president was trying to show us
What things we have to be proud of
What we should focus on
Celebrate come together accomplish what we can
We are our own worst enemies, we need to stop the bickering
Everything the president spoke about was positive

Take off the rose color glasses and celebrate life
Americans are dreamers too
To all those semitors who boycotted the state of union
We Americans need to remove those people from office
The president offers compromise
I noticed the obvious separation. Between both parties

We can fix the broken system
Remain part of the problem or become part of the solution
LETS COME TOGETHER PUT POLITICS ASIDE
the struggle will be long and difficult ,However
We can and will succeed and prevail
A few lines were taken directly from the presidents speech

Most folks will deny
We’re all bias prejudice
That’s why we’re a mess

A modern haiku
A.k.a. Free Form or Contemporary Haiku Allows a greater freedom to expressed ideas, emotions through Haiku

A juxtaposition or surprise
Allows the reader to experience a sudden shift in perspective or emotion
I taught a class in ethics. Everybody has biases and prejudices. Things they were taught, things they’ll learn from their surroundings, things they learn to believe on their own.. we make determinations of people within seconds. We determine whether they’re friends or foe. by our filters of what we know. Nobody is perfect.

Since he fifth century, the feast of St Nicholas was celebrated December 25th
little is known of his life except that in the fourth century he was
Bishop of Myra( in modern day Turkey )
Legend has it that his wishing to aid people in need and do so anonymously, he would throw small bags of gold in their windows
The bags would land in the stocking hung by the fireplace to dry

Other stories from Germany of a
Man and his wife who had a toy shop
The poor children would look in the window of the storefront
at all the beautiful hand made toys their parents could not afford
so on Christmas Eve the couple would
Put a toy on the porch of every child’s house

    Legends of generosity encouraged others
to give gifts at this time of year

But in the 16th century some reformers felt Nicholas was too closely identified with the Catholic Church and replaced him with other figures in  Germany and England’s Father Christmas

The name of St Nicholas survived however,
through adapted to various languages Sinterlaus in Dutch,
became Santa Claus in English
It was Clement Moore in the famous poem
“The Night Before Christmas”
who equipped Santa Claus with
a sleigh, reindeers,a pipe,a bag
and an entry through the chimney

The true reason for the season is the Birth of Jesus
It’s a Birthday party
We need to give Jesus gifts
as well as others
My Gifts to name a few
The Gift of love, faith, belief
Well you get the idea
What do you have for Jesus this year!
The stories were taken from books and life

Screaming
At the top
Of your lungs

Never trust
The wrath of
An angry Tongue

Your mind Racing
Vengeful
Outspoken

When your heart
is shattered
Broken

Quiet your Head
Less
You regret
What you have said
Have you ever tried to stop yourself when you’re so angry.?you know anything that comes out of your mouth is going to be bad.
many people run  their mouth and anger while others choose their words wisely
Yet cutting deeper.

I met my love in a pub
Drinking a pint of brew
He swept me off my feet
We fell in love before we knew
Romance so sweet

However I had a major problem an issue
He had a tattoo of his exwife's name
On his upper arm
TRISH
I was not happy about this

Out witting an unwilling participant
is not a piece of cake
We both are head strong people
a miracle it would take

The humiliation was my cause of alarm
We needed to find an immediate solution
To cease further harm
We were at odd on opposite sides of a revolution

My darling man of reason Wanted to clear the air
He wanted to be fair
He Wondered how he would feel if his wife had
Another mans name for every season

With a wink and a smile I sweetly suggested
he put a line under the letter T
He said HELL NO I'm not Irish
Quickly the conversation regressed

I held my temper But stood my ground
I smiled spoke in my sweetest voice
The patience I found

Leaving him little to no choice
Well dear I'm not TRISH
Resolution my only wish

The day is done
A clever girl has won
Sublime heart and mind
Contentment For all of time I would find

Was it such a large price to pay?
What would you do or you say?
To resolve this situation in an amicable way

35 years of marital bliss
Came down to this
A simple line I drew
in the preverbal sand
An't love grand

My darling Lad drinks a pint of brew
to celebrate St Patrick's Day
To pass the time away of the change of his Tattoo
This story not many knew

Happy wife happy life
A Tattoo is forever think twice
Your decision is for life

Now my Irish pappy
Not Irish happy
Wears his arm on his sleeve
A learned lesson to believe
I was able to recover this poem deleted in error

Before I really knew

However I had an issue
He had a tattoo of his exwifes name

Outwitting an unwilling participate is a hard thing to do
Especially when the other person doesn't have a clue
The humiliation my cause for alarm
We needed to find a solution Before there was further harm

I sweetly batted my eyes and suggested
He add a line under the letter  T
changing the name from
TRISH to IRISH
HELL NO he replied I'm not Irish

I held my temper at all cost
I began to think the situation was lost
although my blood began to boil
We needed to find  our way through this toil

I stood my ground
I smiled speaking in the sweetest voice I found
leaving him no choice but accept my wish
WELL DARLING I'm not TRISH

He wondered how he would feel making love to me
If I had another man's name from him to see
His compassion saved the day
Understanding how I could feel this way

My darling love drinks a beer
To celebrate St Patrick's Day cheer
perhaps to remember the sacrifice he made to get here
Few know the story behind the tattoo he holds dear

Word to the wise
Think twice
about getting a tattoo a loved one may despise
A tattoo is like going under the knife
Your choice lasts a lifetime
Happy wife happy life
36 years together

What’s the purpose of Halloween
Trick-or-treat costume parties make a scene
Scary Jack-o’-lanterns carved faces
Placing them in their houses open spaces
Something wicked, this Way COMES

The original traditions were generated in Ireland and Scotland they carved grins
Scary faces in turnips and potatoes,
Then put them in the windows
To ward off evil spirits and stringy jack.
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Why is Halloween an evil night
The dead rises from there, tombs
What is the purpose of the costumes?
Getting dressed up to
Symbolically disguise oneself
As a way to ward off evil spirits
Something wicked, this Way COMES

An ancient tradition, Celtic people
believed there is a thin vail between
The living, and the dead Halloween night
The veil is at its thinnest sight
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Spirits pass-through roaming the world
Wearing costumes was a way to avoid
Being recognized by the spirits
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Today the true meaning is mostly seen as a fun way to express oneself act out, fantasies
Dressing as a favorite character or creature
Satan successfully lulled the sheep to sleep
His greatest sick trick  He doesn’t exist
Something wicked, this Way COMES

While people argue, it doesn’t say anything In the Bible about Halloween, it does say Christians are carefully instructed to
NOT participate in any pagan way
When somebody tells a lie enough
It’s marginalized becoming the truth
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Blinded by an Illusion of Halloween fun
These traditions prove people in the world
Know evil exist. They celebrate the dead
It’s all around us, in the movies we watch
When wrong is right and right is wrong.
It’s in our music it’s in our songs
Something wicked, this Way COMES

And the Satanic natures on TV we are
Mesmerized by death destruction, **** ***
We feed on Fear, hatred for entertainment.
We feel it in the air. We feel it everywhere.
Something wicked, this Way COMES

Hallowed ground is no longer sacred
People don’t believe anything anymore
Satan, is living laughing in delight
On this wicked Halloween night
Trick or treat when all practice to deceive
Is your candy safe to eat do you believe?
Something wicked this Way is Here FEAR

What would you do?
When you did not prepare
You lived in a bubble, unaware
Would you watch your family die?
Hunger, pain in your family’s eye

What would you do?
Would you pillage rob steal
Knowing another life you’ll ****
Food needed for the other to survive

They prepared they knew how to stay alive
A life for a life you’re willing to trade
A deal with the Devil nonchalantly made

What would you do?
Kick in your neighbors door
grandmother, the children dead on the floor
So your family need not cry today
Godly, kind people are, easy prey
When you cross that moral line
Breaking God’s Law the ultimate crime

What would you do?
Would you sacrifice one of your own?
For the sake of your existence

it's been my imaginary friend
My comfort when I am alone

I no longer condone

no more arguing, I keep an even tone

A theory at birth the human mind is a blank slate
We teach our child to; love, live, hurt, and hate

  Prejudice judgments, we make them
often every day
Yet, we are embarrassed when our children repeat what we say

We blame others when our children regurgitate
Children are sponges they listen, learn, reverberate

To say your child didn't here or understand You
Its' irresponsible to have that point of view

Music, TV , friends, inappropriate behavior is all around
Truth be told Christian values are hard to be found

Your child was a gift entrusted to your care
We live in a time when evil is everywhere

We are molding young minds into who they will be
We need to be diligent good against evil only time can forese

I heard this term recently, and
it knocked me off kilter
I look at life through a different filter
So I have to say it blew me away

What are Ordinary People ?
Every person I know
I only see Extraordinarily

Webster’s Dictionary defines
Ordinary People as
not special in any way. Normal

What is a Normal Person ?
Webster’s  Dictionary defines
Normal as
Having no serious, physical or mental
health problems

By these definitions being
Normal and Ordinary is an anomaly
I don’t know anyone over the age of 55 that does not have some issue. Autonomy

Everyone over 55 that I know has had Illustrious careers; Astronauts , Doctors,
Soldiers , and even Mothers and Fathers

Those who refer to Ordinary People
As middle class in a cast system,
Of the bourgeoisie society are The problem

It’s note worthy to mention Webster’s has
Changed the definitions of their words to
Appease a nonsensical group of people
As life goes on we try to make sense of it all

‘‘Twas the morning of thanksgiving
And all through the house
We’re the clanking of pots and pans
Heard even by the spouse

The dogs lay nestled  in their beds with care
Hoping the feast soon be there
the scent of,yams ,cranberries and casseroles filled the air
preperation covered the countertops everywhere

all of  sudden I heard a crash
I jumped from my Chair,
ran quick as a flash
potatoes boiled over, ready to mash

All the food hot and read
Any request my hands were steady
They all line up with cheer
Time to Eat was finally here

The serving spoons neatly in a row
Four hours of prep time
for a five minute eating crime
Sale ads in hand, it’s time to go

Standing in lines for the best Black Friday deals
Planning my attack of what l need to buy
In the blink of an eye,  I had all the enticing frills

The day Before Thanksgiving, the Special Edition Newspapers Came.
We mulled over Every Sale Item;
placing tabs, creating a master list on a yellow notepad. Meticulously planing in what order do we swoop in and grab
The coveted Black Friday door buster item,
They were the best deals of the year..

We feverishly found a place in line at 2 AM while many slept in tents up to 2 days prior braving what weather coming

One year I was trampled to the ground by the inertia of the mob, pushing their way inside. Fortunately my many layers of sweaters and coats protective me not only from the cold, but also from the peoples feet. Still, I’ll never forget that feeling.
For that reason, alone, children should not go to these Sales. It’s just not safe.

We all play the commercial Game.
Our group split up to achieve maximum success.Constantly confirming with one
Anther So no two people were getting the same item.
A cart was a hindrance to moving quickly around the store. Since our group had four people we shared one cart.  Many sell items were “ limit one”
At first glance, it might appear we are breaking The one item limit
Feverish People tried to grab items out of other peoples carts.
Insisting it was their right.

This is what I  really, really want!!!,
smiles of ” Christmas Joy”
Then Picked up the next toy
This is what I really really want!!!

And then  process continue
Throughout the entire store
Imagination galore.

My local pharmacy
was exceptionally busy today
Worriedly,I scan the pharmacy line
For any signs of people;
coughing, sick, in any way

I don’t have a mask I’m not protected
My mind is freaking me out
after all those people came
For medication
of one kind or another

People are dying
Have they been around
Someone with the flu
Nursing them, contagious

Nervously I wait.
They call my name
No information,silently
The pharmacist grabs an arm,
sticks the needle in my arm
gives me the shot
Pushes the medicine in
Hands me a paper
Consequently Telling me , as he walks away
“It takes ten days before Your protected”
I sit there swimming with questions
He is gone

As I walk from the store
Several sensations occur immediately
My arm hurts instantly
At the shot sight
Although the needle was tiny
throbbing pain works it’s way
Down my whole arm

By the time I start the car
My head is pounding
Within the first block
My head is pounding so much
It hurts behind my eyes

Anxiety of the unknown symptoms  sets in
I have alway been very careful
Getting behind the wheel of a car
On any medication
“I can make it home”
I chant as I drive
“I’m close, almost there”

My body feels strange
I’m home in 7 minutes
I’m safe breath, sigh relax

My chest feels like someone’s sitting on it
It’s hard to breathe
My oxygen saturation level
drops into the mid 80s

I make sure my husband knows
Where the paperwork is
As I explain to him all my symptoms
Reactions to the flu shot

I feel euphoric
nauseous consumesme, holding it in
Vomiting is dangerous for me taking
time releases medications
I take something for the stomach
Pulling on my pjs And climbing into bed
Making dinner, not an option

I wake up 4 hours later
My symptoms have leveled out
The chest still tight breathing a bit less labored
However,All other symptoms
Have become an aching in all my joints
I mange to eat leftovers
my stomach feels better

My head still in a fog
The next day is a struggle
To get moving
I realize how strong
this strain of the flu is

I get the flu shot every year
And have never experienced
These reactions

I know everyone is different
But take caution when getting the flu shot
Go home immediately afterwards
Preferably have someone with you
Wash your hands think about public places stay safe

I was up all night last night
Tonight a repeat
With one
Exception
I have the flu
Achy body
I feel like I was hit by a truck
Stomach doing flip
flops
Like after
A meal on the high sea
In a storm
My head is pounding
I want to close my eyes
Dark quiet yet can’t sleep
Body restless
A dice proposal
When taking medications
That can throw me in
Toxic shock
Water room temp
Saltine crackers

My first night of teaching
post secondary education
medical billing program
Two year a.s. degree

there was so much
I still didn’t know.
It was during my
introduction lecture
Going over the fine points,

A student raised your hand.
she asked, “isn’t it break time”?
Not knowing when Break time was
I was in a quandary

I didn’t want the Students
to know I was an ignorant
new teacher. I called on my inner
confidence then gave a short
extemporaneous speech;

“OK class let’s make sure
we’re all on the same page
can anyone tell me
when is Break time ?”
all the hands go up

Susie beamed
with the knowledge,
She would be answering
the first of what would be
many questions in
our time together.

With conviction she blurts out
From 7 PM to 7:15 PM  I looked around
the room and said“Does everybody agree? The class looked a little puzzled then, nodding in unison  I said OK I just wanted be on the same page. So no one should be late . let’s take a 15 minute break and everybody should be back here at 7:15 PM.

The next morning
in the teachers lounge,
I told my first day story
(Death by fire)

The teachers had a good chuckle
They were impressed with my impromptu
Handling of the situation without
The students becoming aware

I flashed my smile and said
Sometimes you have to
fake it until you make it
The teachers laughed.
We’ve all been there.

An interesting phenomenon
Takes place in houses at Christmas
There is no other time of the year
When it is so natural
To have a Religious presence
In our house
The Christmas tree itself
Is a religious symbol
It’s origins are rooted in
The tree of life
In the Garden of Eden
Often we place a star
Or an angel at the top
At Christmas
we have a manger scene
With the child Jesus
Mary and Joseph
the shepherds, the magi
And angels
Candles
Closely associated with
Religious ritual
are very popular  Christmas decorations
In our homes
We listen to religious music in our homes
Christmas carols with religious themes
A prayer is usually said before the Christmas meal,
Even in homes where this is seldom done
During the year
This might set us thinking about the value
Of year round religious symbols
In the home
Perhaps we need to focus on
The renovation of our house church
We have a tradition of religious symbols
In our house
The cross, a family Bible,Ext...
But it’s faded a bit,
The Christmas season is a good time
To take a second look at having year round
Religious symbols in
Our House Church
Just a thought how many religious ornaments are on your tree?

Full of laughter, love and Many tears
Inevitable realization of their fears

Bob wouldn’t have it any other way

Cancer in remission
Life was a condition
Weakening body in transition
Stealing lives without permission

Bob fought the good fight
Holding on with all his might
After each procedure ,Bouncing back
It was tough to keep Life, love on track

Family came over to watch him die
Only to see him fight and try
Bob put on a brave face,
which was a lie
His wife Kathy Sneaks off to cry
Cancer you cannot deny

Finally Death came to call
Eventually it will ,for us all

Now, they are never around
The house sits dark and bare
Nobody is ever there

Their house is no longer at home

The Joker who is Batman‘s
Arch enemy and life nemesis
learned of Batman‘s true identity
And started asking real questions

How could a shooter
A seemingly untrained
Young adult without
Obvious motives A boy\man in
a Black Rock commercial

get past seasoned secret service
A calamity of errors Poor planning
A ladder on the side of a building
Bystanders spotting the shooter prior to Trump going on stage Alert, police

A policeman has a confrontation
with the shooter and runs away?
WHY was Trump allowed to go on stage?
The father alerts the police. He’s worried about his son.? Father’s missing gun

The timelines don’t add up
Secret service story changes
I’m sure they’re going to say
extenuating circumstances!
legitimately Will be presented

All Questions will be answered
they claim to have transparency
Pun intended
IT ******* AWAY
The Picture I have in my head;

The intention behind the shooter(s)?
Was for the American people
To watch Donald Trump’s
Head blown off On national television
witnessed by Millions around the world.

Why? what is the reason, the lesson;
Americans know your place!, get in line
The bigger picture It’s not all about Trump
He’s just in the way, We are next
It’s the American people they’re after

“Profane wicked people
Whose day has come
when iniquity shall have an end”
Ezekiel 21:26

That is the extent of their hatred
How do you reconcile
Hate derangement ?
Take a moment to fathom
The Gravity of the situation

News media moguls
Love to parody Trump hatred
The grotesque mockery on cue
Insinuating Character sabotage
“it’s a stunt Trump merely fell,
And had to be carried off stage”

“Trump is using his bandage as a prop”
“He staged The whole thing”
The cesspool of lying through their eyes
Biden’s campaign
Unconscionable rhetoric

ramping up hate
Trump is called a ****
Trump will be a dictator
There will be no more democracy
Trump hates black people

Public figures saying
“someone should take him out”
“The shooter had one job and he missed?”
It doesn’t matter what side you’re on
doesn’t matter what you think of the man

From dust we are born and
to dust we shall return

Born in diapers
And in diapers.
We shall return

However, that’s not
Even our biggest concern
We learn to rationalize,
Soon it’ll be our turn

However that’s not the
worst of what is to come
Memory loss, the ultimate cost
Dementia, Senility, Alzheimer’s

True it doesn’t happen to all, Just some
Who answers the call
However evidently nobody
will know their outcome

Add in a myriad of
other ailments for good measure
The word “walk” at your own leisure
has a new meaning it’s rather demeaning

Each person’s, inevitable fate
Life’s journey Check Mate
We learn to slow our gate
turn another page life’s gage

Yes we celebrate OLD AGE Ironic, plutonic
Chronic, crate paper crinkles like her skin
Beautiful hands now liver spots wrinkle
and black balloons they think that’s funny. Oh don’t fret honey. Just the Young ins

They don’t understand
What it means to have a good day
No significant illness’ to speak of today
Why do we celebrate so many ask
Living with ailments, is a laborious task

We celebrate;
The life we’ve livedThe love we give
The things we’ve seen places we’ve been
The people we’ve known death shown

The things we’ve done While having fun
In our prime, another day another time
We were bigger than life, 10 feet tall
Even the gladiators eventually fall

Nobody ever ages gracefully
Most Fight it every step of the way
The Golden years worldly and wise
We shrink before our very eyes
Our skin wrinkles sagging
The immense pain ever nagging

The wonders of age and getting old.
A word of the wise don’t believe the lies
It’s not for the weak meek its for the bold
I will age gracefully I’ll never be too old
I have the propensity for living life large

Even knowing
Sickness will bring  us to our knees

and his loyal trusted men at
The threat of death were forced to kneel before the entire royal court and pledge their fealty to the King.

They were admonished for their actions.
The King had a more useful purpose for these men. They were given impunity. Which led to the discriminate slaughter of the peasants they sought to protect.

This harsh reminder and lesson for the other Marauders in the land,  going against the King, would have dire consequences.

People really used terms like the movie
“Clueless” where everything was groovy
Totally awesome, Rad, tubular and cool

Neighbors had Santa Anita quarter horse
A wonderful life until the divorce
As we grew, we went our separate way
The same kids K-12 still chat today

School reunion, now Facebook friends
See how we turned out made amends
Through the years, laughter, and tears
California  destroyed, our worst fears

LA is not the same place that used to be
It looks like a bush and they call it a tree
A mass exodus move fast travel far
Leaving in groves by plane, train, and car

Homeless tent city people in the park
Dangerous to move around after dark
Protesters intent to destroy every college
Institutions that stand for knowledge

San Francisco has a P and **** Map pity
Tourism is a thing of the past
California beauty sadly did not last
