Innocence and beauty arouse envy
in few, wonder in others, raw disdain
in the rest. Kindness is held by many
in high esteem while some think it arcane.
Truth and honesty are not quite the same.

Courage can only show itself in fear;
Desperate times reveal all that is dear.
Virtues like winter snow soften and thaw.
Perfection and purity disappear
to usher a hidden character flaw.

Chloe
by Michael R. Burch

There were skies onyx at night ... moons by day ...
lakes pale as her eyes ... breathless winds
******* tall elms ... she would say
that we'd loved, but some book said we’d sinned.

Soon impatiens too fiery to stay
sagged; the crocus bells drooped, golden-limned;
things of brightness, rinsed out, ran to gray ...
all the light of that world softly dimmed.

Where our feet were inclined, we would stray;
there were paths where dead weeds stood untrimmed,
distant mountains that loomed in our way,
thunder booming down valleys dark-hymned.

What I found, I found lost in her face
while yielding all my virtue to her grace.

Ha...ha

Seriously
I laugh at those
Whose only goal
Is to rise high

That high
Where
They are left
Alone

Let me laugh
Once again
Ha..ha..ha

Note: The higher one rises, the more farther the home will be. And it's only the home, the best place to be. In the background of COVID-19.

abandon the sun at night -
virtue spares faithful.

And after all
Honestly
You deserve
Everything
That close
Where everything
Starts
With a whisper
And ends
With a whisper

No excuse
A gift of life
With
The right one
Genre: Almost Romantic
Theme: Oneness
Note: Know your worth

Genre: Abstract
Theme: Faith
Author's Note: Every act of goodness is a god, and I'm no one to convey, what goodness is. God is not, who, god is what. If one believes in goodness then he/she believes in god. Now introduce me, who is an atheist?
But I see god in you.
is it better
to be
virtuously
fake or
authentically
ugly?
