Music is not played to make sounds
Art is not prepared to paint a picture
Books are not written to tell a story

It’s the silence

The silence after a song is performed
After a grand mural is finished
After a story is told

The silence that causes a pause –
A pause that makes people stop and listen
Listen to the silence, the knowledge, the heartbeat

And then sound
Cheering, adulation, praise
Shattering those tender seconds of utter peacefulness

And that’s why we do it all again

Blossoms look better in the rain;
reaching into black mist and white wind,
singing like a deaf woman

I'll marry any man who agrees
It's raining. I love it.
All alone in a big room
I could let my voice travel all the way to you
Wish I had the key
To open the door to eternity
And see
If you're next to me
Any way it goes,
I know it's hardly anything I could hope.

I've never felt lonely
So long as music has been playing
Until I went outside, and smoked alone
To come home and heard it playing
With singing along, no answer at your door.

here,
to you,
i will sing it
all to you,
every night
when you fall asleep
in my arms,
and i will
sing you
your favorite lullaby,
until we die,
because you are
worth it,
darling.
this is a guy singing a lullaby to his girlfriend,
not his daughter or some crazy 'daddy' ****.
