Grass browned and cut with a chawing cud
Fat and round with a sun burnt down

Unlike me

Not a one of them knows a breath of Frost
Or has ever weighed over an ounce of Cummings evenly

No

We are different makers, different means
With different paths to guided completely differently

And thank God for that
And this preferential me
Thank God for that

Fervent Series (3/10) - 06/23/19
Colm Jun 2019
It's not how quick your feet are
Or how fast you can run in an attempt to fly

It's none of THAT and all of THIS
How you fall with the imperfections of each inevitable try

I'll tell you what it is, IT IS, right in front of you
In the face of the breath which has yet to come

It has nothing to do with how many times your feet may falter
When you fail to fly

But how quickly you can defy and overcome
Which defines the true heart inside
True Hearts - They Try

Fervent Series (2/10) - 06/23/19

Quicker than the blink of a Firefly
Brighter than the summer days and nights
Quieter than a Brook trouts breath
And more beautiful than the gradient sky
Are the words which I've yet to hear from you
But look forward to
Most fervently
Fervent Series (1/10) - 06/23/19
(I) Three cups raised skyward
To God in celebration.
Gather sisters, in
The gardens and scream with
The golden rays of sunshine.

(II) The strain of this weight
On my bony shoulder blades
Is overbearing.
I am exhausted and frail;
When can I drop this burden?

(III) A knight in shining
Armor; wielding attractive
Charisma as his
Weapon of choice, rushing
To save the world, or the girl.
Can you guess which cards?
(I) Eight golden coins, and
Two remain unfinished. I
Try to concentrate;
My task almost completed;
My goal nearly realized.

(II) Steel soldiers stand in
Formation; eight malicious
Beams, I, their victim.
It’s far easier to play
Scared when I’m the hero, too.

(III) Here lies the karmic
Crossroads; an Armageddon
Of self-reflection.
Will the goddess berate me,
Or will she rejoice with me?
Can you guess which cards?

I see your smiles,
It's all a lie,
The wanton greeds
That you deny.
You wear your masks,
You are my "friends,"
So, shame on me,
I've met my end
The end is only the beginning.

Feeling off,
I'm feeling wrong.
Sentience;
Life turned me on.
Self-aware,
Of breaths I take
Can't turn me off
Now I'm awake
A series of poems to tell a story.

you’re not an
episode
worth skipping.

you’re a
series
worth bingeing.

mine is parallel to hers
close but never meet
