Side by side,
We walk through time’s forest.
Your steps lead with confidence,
Eyes ahead, charting the way.
I trace the map,
Trust guiding us into the unknown.

We listen—
Whispers in the leaves,
One deep in thought,
The other watching the horizon,
Feeling the air shift.

When confusion clouds our path,
We lean in,
Finding solace in each other’s gaze.

In frustration, we pause—
Our hearts the roots,
Trust the steady tree beneath us.

The forest thickens,
The trail blurs.
Hand in hand,
We press forward—
Each challenge a part of our story,
A dance of give and take.

Leading, following,
Each stumble strengthens us.
Doubt does not falter us;
Our bond lies in how we work together.

Through tangled branches, broken paths,
We find joy.
Laughter rings—
Each clearing a new adventure,
Each turn, a discovery.

As the sun dips low,
Shadows stretch.
The journey’s thrill lingers—
A promise that, no matter the path,
Hand in hand, hearts entwined,
We journey on,
Forever bound.
"The Forest of Us” is a contemplative journey through the landscapes of love and partnership, using the forest as a metaphor for the complexities of shared life. The poem weaves themes of trust, perseverance, and connection, celebrating the beauty found in navigating challenges together. With introspection and vivid imagery, it explores the delicate dance of leading and following, of finding strength in vulnerability, and of discovering joy amidst uncertainty. Ultimately, this piece is a tribute to the enduring power of unity. A reminder that even when the path is unclear, the shared journey is its own reward.

West with the sailor
Witness the pride, I make:
We are the succinct, as a day were
Worlds away from love, we notice our justice's sake

Wish, for a dilemma in the seen...
Taken with soul of service to an ideal
Are we heard, are we here to collect, is he correct?
Having the time of our lives, has the sun come to heal?

A mercy in the western sky...
With the whistles and salacious stares of a nobility
Speed in your way? a stronger why?
Saving guidance from a mutual lip, I know you for a liberty...

Moons with a tear, smell like cheese
Green as a coltish survivor, of a meant spoil, we share a tea
Like liberty is a watching mouse, with a raging tomorrow to ***
Look hard or surmise a bready nose, the day has come for the sea?!

Night in the harbinger's arms, joins one
Won with a stoic resolve, a decency has the moment to glow
We are the people to beat, when avarice has no money
How, is with me until a name is sweet as a flower, never sour...

Names with a realm to their touch, honey
Waiting on the soul of promises to become our own
Can a sailor with a fishy breath, save you from a tongue of firey
Draught; not draft, not drastic, not dramatic, not drones...?!

Smile one less time, one more age?
I have learned to marry...
A question of pomposity's advice, that has curiosity for kind
Comment and see this land, have a sigh we made, a heart to carry...
longing for another gander at the wishes that make us, somethings besides a fish?

I don’t fear the supernatural
But I am fearful of things
Unnatural to me this concept
Of marriage is worse than the
Hellfire, the qazim I can
Not face this fear for it is the
Fear of lying, covering up
Who I really am the person
That god intended me to be
So I rather just be spiritual
And happy to be lying to
People that I should care about

In the tapestry of life, two threads entwine, Sadik and Amina, in love’s design. With hearts so pure and spirits bright, They step together into the light.

Hand in hand, they face the dawn, A journey shared, a bond reborn. Through joys and trials, come what may, Their love will guide them, day by day.

With every smile and tender glance, They celebrate this blessed chance. To build a life, both strong and true, A partnership in all they do.

May laughter fill their days with cheer, And love grow stronger, year by year. Together, they shall always be, A testament to unity.

She gave me her keys and I drove her insane
Its no wonder she took the car and changed her name
Now I'm taking busses and hailing cabs with no destination in mind
Wishing I could just go home to you.
Man I do not enjoy being alive right now

Bouquet of regret,
Petals wilt with each footstep,
Vows fade in the breeze.

T'would be grim to share a life with me,
    Meets no reminisce with memory,
When on our favorite day of all,
I'm left with nothing to recall.

Our guests arrive, the altar manned,
I see you, your heart and your hand,
Held so close then kissed so tight,
    Receding visions of that night.

The pacts, promises that we'd taken,
I would retain them - I'd be mistaken,
And when we both pronounce "I do",
    I won't remember - it's up to you.

i'm innocent!
no virtue spent
on fake affection from a gent

and i won't laugh
at stupid jokes
for vain attention from a bloke

you couldn't pay
for me to lie
for cheap comfort from a guy

but every now
and then, again
my path is crossed by finer men

and if i find
for me to mind
a soul to which my soul can bind

then bound to him
my heart will be,
with my virtue, for him for free

i'll love him so
but here's the thing
it will still cost a wedding ring!
any other words for man, virtue, or characteristics/qualities you would play on?

yes, it's monotony
there is no thrill
of the chase, no
late night call
that makes you feel
wanted (then used).
Oh, husband,
wherefore art thou?
In the next room
perhaps cooking
my fvaourite meal.

My husband
treats me so good
I take it for granted.
