"i'll see you soon
by the next full moon
it won't be long, just wait."

the next moon came
nothing had changed
it wasn't written in our fate.

"wish you were here
so i could hold you near
and talk and laugh all day."

it wasn't to be
so i'd wait patiently
there were rules we had to obey

four months have gone by
every day i have cried
just sad and feeling alone.

"i miss you too much
i so crave your touch
i'd rather be there than at home."

just come and meet me
we'll do it discreetly
we don't have to tell anyone.

"now i just miss you more
and it's left my heart sore
and wondering, what have we done?"
the battle with willpower and ethics of seeing your s/o during lockdown and the consequences of a "quick fix" meet that will usually have you more desperate than before

“Stay home” they said, as the birds began to nest
So we tidied our homes and made up beds to rest
Schools closed their doors, as the chicks began to tweet
So we listened to advice, and welcomed home our fleet
Children at our feet, as the birds were feeding well
So we cooked for our kids and made their bellies swell
“Home school” they said, as the chicks prepared to fly
So we taught best we could, not teachers but we try
We’ll soon be free to roam, as we see chicks leave and glide
You’re not so different little birds, we’re all a little wild inside.

Lockdown a housewife asks what it might be
Staying home going nowhere for a month or so
Oh I've been in that state ten and a score.
Why do people complain its never boring as they say. Washing and the cooking the dishes and the floor only my aching back reminds me it's night.
In school and college I was the star of the stage now my stage is the kitchen and the dining room the smile on satisfied faces I consider reward enough.
Happy with my work satisfied with my state.

it's over.
we did it.
school is finally dead.
you sleep at 4
and wake up at 3
paradise, as paradisiacal as it can be
just why, though
why am i still unhappy?

They say this Covid Plague came from bats.
I picture a great black cave
Filled with bats
Crammed into the crannies –
Locust swarm sardines,
Those Covid spike-*****
Rubbing their hands with glee.

So what happens when Lockdown Eases?
Swarms of sheeples
Dancing in the streets
Squeezing together
In a ***** fuelled frenzy
Just like those bats.

Except the bats remain sober:
They only do what they do
Knowing no other.
But We have no excuse.
We have the intelligence
To see
That this is wrong.
Yet we choose NOT
To act smart.

No, we risk all –
Risk a lonely breathless death
And anonymous incineration
Away from our friends and kin
Just for a ***** lash
Out on the crowded town.

Will We ever Learn?
I’m afraid
It might be a long time coming.

When Will They Learn???

A tree stares in disbelief at
an axe with an unsharpened edge
Unsure if its fate is to be beaten rather than
chopped to death
before giving birth to tables and chairs
A pavement recoils in disgust
that weeds and not roses sprout from its crevices
Indignant at the unfairness of it all
Even the pictures painted
by words scrawled on anguished walls
seem to have something to say
While I’m lost in thought
on a park bench
trying to make sense
of masked
lockdown/murdering/rioting days

Surviving lockdown
March was the start
Closing down cities
Families living apart

Surviving lockdown
That’s what I’m doing
Surviving shopping
Queuing and queuing

Surviving lockdown
Out of bed at six or seven
Days are all the same
Not what I’d call livin’

Surviving lockdown
Trying to remember the date
Is it Saturday or Sunday?
Feeling like a prison inmate

Surviving lockdown
Finding something to do
Baking bread or anything
Just to get through

Surviving lockdown
Till they find a cure
Surviving lockdown
I’ll need to endure

Surviving lockdown
Now it’s July
Feeling so lucky
When so many die

Surviving lockdown
It’ll end one day
And all back to normal
Well, that’s what they say.
Surviving lockdown Is self explanatory

The conversations go on,
With the four walls,
As it dampens the silence
Of the isolated winds,
As I dive into them.
How long till it ends or just begins?

Behind closed doors,
Shut away from the world,
They say lock down stay safe.

Behind closed minds,
Hidden from the world,
Locked down in your own mind
not so safe.

Locked away in your mind
Lock downs not so safe,
Locked in an endless lock down
in your own mind darkness creeps.

Break the lock, rise up,
Up from the down of lock down,
like the morning sun warm and glowing.
Spreading the light, chasing the darkness.

Opening the doors, opening your minds,
Gently into the new normal, after lock down,
Will it be safe?

Who knows, be brave
take the first steps
Open the door of the mind and soul,
The body will surly follow

There was a young woman in quarantine
Who found ******* to be obscene
But bored as time went by
Her love for coffee would die
And now she's roasting her own bean
