we stood tall;
free and unabridged
a testament to our youths

but when they called us down
we stayed standing
our height shrunk
wrinkles worn on torn porcelain
a graying of old stone

we grew fatter off decadent fruit
while caged animal fed on imprisoned others
and the minority was culled to a head
in internment camps
in privatized prisons
in the courts
and the legislator's building
in the very creation of the nation
stillborn at conception
an aborted fetus carried to term
delivered, to be chucked to the wayside
weened off the milk of a tormenting yearn
to make, to build, to think, and learn
but we stifle that now
in favor of rockets to fly
leaning toward oil to burn
will there be a scream when we die
or will this silence hold firm?
I never wanted
to be
what you
turned me into,
but I will
live with it,
for I
don't know
how else to live
with myself.
Dying feels easy, it's the living which is the hard part.

We float over solvent crystals of life

Glistening in the all glory of our stars might

The wind winding round us

Sweeping up minute glitter

flicking the crystaline particles of life

As sparkles of radiance on our skin

A complement to sparkles in our eyes

A temporal tunnel borrowing the depths of faith

A moment hung in eternity

A transpiring of unspoken gifts and promises

Asilent understanding

A pledge of love in every realm promised

Agreement in the slow blink of an eye

sealed with polite fervour as a

Kiss over the salt waters

Cleansed and anointed by

The salt of the earth and holiness of the

Eternal presence the one who spoke existence

Consecrated by the eternal agapi in the struggle

Of the mystical meanings and the free will of our love.

A living story.

HAPPINESS

Happiness
is clearly
programmed
to live in you,

but you must
absolutely
leave room in
your heart
and head for
it to bring you
what it must
bring you.

Happiness is
free seed sow
and reap it.

Happiness alone
doesn't make
living good life
we need a
dose of some unconditional love.

I'm a rat inside a cage, struggling to escape;
Unless my body turns cold, they'll not let me out nor let me plead my health.
Squeaking loudly, calling for help, but they just can't
— If they go out from their hiding place, they'll reach the same ending as I am.

A specie that almost everyone hated— rats,
A four legged warm-blooded mammal hiding behind walls or below the stones;
Stealthily looks for something to eat: anything even a false meat
As long as there's something that can fill their empty stomachs.

Although I saw countless of my kin dying, not returning home
To our haven with a safety of a hundred percent unsure,
We still go out during the night, battling with the phantoms in the territory,
We both are seekers, the only difference— humans and food.

My father sacrificed himself by climbing the thin wire and fell;
My mother sacrificed herself by climbing the fence and had been stabbed;
My brother was just eating when a wild dog caught him;
And now I'm imprisoned in this cage where I thought human will feed me.

The world has turn its back on us,
Now I'm here, dying for something I wanted to ask:
“Were we made by just one God?
Or were we only here to suffer on this land?”

The night comes once again and stars filled the sky,
I'm breathing heavily, I wanted to cry.
But my tears dry before it can even fall
Until I heard ‘someone’ weeping with a hopeless call.

“We both are one, being imprisoned in a cage;
You're in the mirror while I'm in the reality.

Surely the rules of life
Come with a heavy tether
Weighing us down
Tarred and feathered
To keep us safe in the wild
Calmly tamed
Mindlessness is the name
Of this dreadful game

Bring on the beast
Let loose Goliath
I am all ready bored
With our new Messiah

Give me back my bullets
the primitive said
Or perhaps I’m transcending
The living dead

Mirror.
I've been talking to the mirror.
Been looking at the mirror.
The mirror of me.

Mirror.
I see the tears on your cheeks.
The red on your skin.
The mirror of me.

Dear mirror,
The cracks as you scream,
The pain that you're in.
Is a mirror of me.

Oh mirror,
I saw you on the street
The rain your only sheen
Was a mirror of me.

So mirror,
The claws at your cheek
The deep open screams
The mirror of me.

Hear me when I speak
The reds and blues I see.
The dark that your making.
Is no mirror of me.

Mirror
I hope you can hear me.
The lies that I've seen.
Never a mirror,

Of me.
Not all mirrors tell the truth.

You must pray for the fickle and weak.
As we all need to make it through the heat.
Your whiskey neat burns down the branches of your chest as you speak.
Expand into a balloon, the crowd won’t bow but shake their heads.
They can not believe this tale you live, the life in a comfy castle cove.
The girls back home cry, denying all this fallacy.
A fairytale facade or so it seems.
Really it can not be like this, this isn’t reality.
This can not be like you or me.
We aren’t merely copies, are we?
They cry tears in the shape of rapids that carve rivers down your cheeks.
To take her to the moon will settle, remedy this pain.
So give me a few years and I’ll get you there.
For now pray for the fickle and weak as they aren’t lost, but free.
Changed it a bit.
