He gave me the look of "really, "really,
Scuffing his paws as if covering filth.

"What's a matter snoopy?

Then looking at me, raised an eyebrow
"Didn't know they could do that?
I went to rest my head and in a puddle it
Did land soaked fermenting upon my head.

"He was their licking his fangs,

I threw a slipper bouncing off the wall
Ricocheting and face planting me instead.
I changed my pillow cleaned my hair, and
Slumbering I  once again rested my head.

"Scratch, scratch, scratch,

Morning awoke as I heard noises grating
Downstairs? I got a bat and in my white fronts
Edged down to find My EP player on.
"Hello anyone there, I know karate? "what,

A new word for scratching was born, whisks of
Clawed plastic on the floor. My best record now
Worthless recycle. And there he stood on the fire
Place his claws tapping in rhythm is what I saw.

From that day on I never gave him the cheap food
A lesson learnt, I thought I was the boss and he
Was just a pet. But a lesson learnt never *** off
Your feline friend there smarter than that.

He lets his cat
out of the bag
smiling, in silence.
She pets it's
soft coat repeatedly.
It purrs in delight
and lets her know
it wants more.
All she has to do now
is to see it drink milk
til she too is pleased.

He shuts his eyes wide
and waits, following
keenly her every step.

What a good pet,
a bite waiting behind the curtain,
a flash with her talons
drawing blood,
you might not see it
but this is love.
Always wide eyed
from the moment we met,
a chaotic bundle
my lovely pet.
Delightfully vicious,
fanged with sublime,
tabs of mayhem
every time
& as near as I'd want
to totally mine;
on the stage of herself,
her little wild self.

Every good witch needs a black cat
A mischievous little creature that
Makes the stereotype more fun
The kind that mouse hunts
And meows at ghosts, goblins, and ghouls
Loyal to the point of convenience
Untamed wearing sleek gleaming fur
But loving all the same
In fact it would be a shame
If everyone didn’t get at least one
Beautiful black cat in their life

It begins with just a whisper,
A hint of murmur,
Some quiet tremor
Of warmth.

Growing stronger each moment,
The flutter turns into
A familiar song
Of tenderness.

The sound flows clearly now,
Gushing like waves on
A distant shore
Of silence.

An ethereal orchestra is already
Masterfully performing,
The rhythmic tune
Of affection.

And soon, the unbroken melody
Softly transforms into
The ageless symphony
That is a cat's purr.

Claws retract,
Prey is trapped,
Between death and pain,
Pinned and hanged.

Sauntering and sassy,
Tearing the flesh with it’s teeth,
Not very classy,
But the hum of the fur,
Attracts another,
A growling mutt comes,
A feast has begun,
No one has won.

Soft fur I burrowed my face into
Whisker tickles, as if sharing secrets between us.
A bond between human and animal,
no one quite understands.
Warm purrs filling my soul as you nestled
under the blankets.
What were you thinking behind those feline eyes?
When you ran out the door, did you ever look back?
Do you prowl the alley's and chase mice in the night?
Know I haven't forgot you...
Is it freedom you wanted my feline friend?
That animal instinct that you couldn't fight?
If only I had known what you were thinking...
Behind those green, feline eyes.

a grey and orange ghost
slips unfettered between
this world and
a quiet place
of muted shadows
hidden
until eyes like marbles
blink into existence
and my cheshire kitten
slinks into my room
with no more whisper
than silk on glass
liquid
