Pale mist echoes silently
So still...
It’s this us?
Because we're nothing
Can the air decay?
Because I want us to die
Us to
vanish during the night.
Can the air please decay?
and make my infatuation rot and let the black flies fly around me
A least it would make something real
Which is the thing I desire the most.
Me begging on my fragile knees
Please make the air decay
Because living in this world of wonder is causing too much pain to bare.

-We were never a thing (we never had a chance because I killed us by having no confession and you killed me by not noticing my loving gaze)

have you ever heard it?

shallow,

rapid,

weak

have you ever felt it?

fleeting,

rattling,

in the chest

have you ever seen it?

nodding,

into the blankness

of the void

no

pulse,

so life-less, yet,

oddly,

peaceful
...Have you ever heard your Mother breathe her last breath?

I found a pretty apple tree and dug myself a grave,
In it I've left my body, words and a sad mind,
All those things in life to whom I were a slave,
All will in the end be gladly left behind.

On every face I see, the same old tired smile,
That always hides a riddle, a story or a myth,
Always full of secrets, always full of lies,
That turn around the smoke o'er the fire pits.

Through rainy eyes I see the dawning of the day,
I admire sun in its morning glory,
I feel its healing beams carrying me away,
And the final darkness- the end of my story.

I picked a snow white flower, and saw in it my death,
In every petal written the end to my pain,
I've crossed this cursed field the path to my last breath,
My soul thus has left me in the light of day.
I found a pretty apple tree and dug myself a grave.

I heard the news today that you passed
Our Heavenly Father has you cast
In a play of angelic proportions
Made you pure from life’s distortions
As we grieve in our different ways
Our memory of you forever stays

I remember our day we had in a northern town
With sincere gladness, as you take up your crown
Retrospective moments I treasure all my life
As you lay at peace from your recent strife
I will think of you often with warmth and charm
So you rest well, my friend away from all harm

Your poetic words often struck a chord
And in life, you were rewarded for your word
Our chats over music, poetry, culture and esprit
Showed your enthusiasm for people like me
I only wish there is an opportunity for goodbye
I shall send my spiritual presence to the sky

In this lifetime there is but one of us to know
In your time on earth you had so much to show
There’s a heartache, as time closes in
A time of healing for us to begin
So fly on with wings that soar far and wide
In how you touched this life, fly on with pride
For a fellow poet David Swinden, also known as DarkDave in some poetry circles... sweet dreams as you rest, my friend

I must go.
As I turn, I see,
Hidden by my eye,
A blossom.
A beautiful, fragile blossom.
But the tree is dying.
I must go.
