hot chocolate getting cold
favourite clothes getting old
movies without the ending I want
ice cream falling in the floor
people having fun when I'm at my worst

Love is like chocolate

Sometimes Sweet

Occasionally bitter

Now and again a little too much

But you always end up wanting more!

Teal like aluminum foil,

Bleeding gums, spitting blood


Red as lipstick stains

Left on paper cups of coffee,

Melting the way chocolates do


Cracked knuckles from

Too many seaside winters,

Rich cocoa skin like leather


Mouth filling with soap bubbles,

Teal like synesthesia.

Untied shoelaces,
Untied heart,
Her words flowing freely from
Her mind,
Her black boots tapping a rhythm
Known only to
Her.
Her eyes bloomed like
Orchids
When she blinked,
And her chocolate fountain hair
Spilled over her gray graphic tee,
The messy bun
Unraveling
As her thoughts slowly
Unraveled
Themselves onto the page.

Bourbon whiskey
and dark chocolate
are tender injections
of love
for the people
who are not
in love
