wasting well water wishes
while in waste water wading
waiting waist-high wailing
weeping, wailing—
what a waste!

wasting well water wishes
while we're waxing waning
waning waxing waging
waging, waisting—
wherewithal!

wanting well water wishes
while whole world watching
watching wishing wanting
wanting wishing—
worldwide!

welcome well water wishes
while watching winning wanting
wanting watching winning
winning, winning—
wonderful!

whew!!

4/25/2020 - Poetry form: Alliteration - This is the 8th poem in my Alliterative Alphabet Series. Each poem describes conversations between two or more people while only using words that start with or sound like the first letter of the title of the poem. I’m publishing the poems as I write them on Wattpad.com, not necessarily in alphabetical order. My goal is to write at least 26 poems to cover each letter of the alphabet. I hope you find the concept interesting, maybe even clever. Most of all I hope you enjoy them :) - There are a lot of words starting with "X", but it's a challenge creating a coherent dialog with just "X" words.  Saved by the definition of alliteration: "The occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words."   Ahhh... so the same "sound" would fit the bill.  Thus, the use of words beginning with "ex" would provide the "X" sound, alliteratively speaking :) - Disclaimer: This poem is fictional and does not depict any actual person or event.  The names used are ficticious and were chosen to satisfy the requirements of the poetry form. - © 2020 by Mark Toney.  All rights reserved.

The Dybbuk Apr 2020
In the perpetual pursuit
of planetary pleasures,
a purported supporter of such
paranormal potions must
ponder: is pleasure, in principle,
the peak,
or perhaps is it a journey,
from point O to point P
purposely pouncing to provide
pyromaniacs with plentiful
planks for the pyre.
Shadow Apr 2020
Marvelous, matchless, magical, moonlit midnight,
With a superabundance of sparkly, summery stars,
Peacefully placid, pure and prettily plummy,
Radiantly rich, rhapsody resplendent rapture!
Fragrant flowers frolic freely in your fervence,
Eye-catching and exquisite in their exuberance,
Bouncing blissfully in breezy, blooming ballet.
Inexhaustible and intoxicating and intriguing,
Dazzling and delightful, and doubtlessly dreamy
So a girl challenged me to write a poem with alliteration and so I accepted the challenge, tell me what you guys think :)

"Blasted black bats in belfry!

They blight the blessed bells!

I am bedeviled by beasts born without beauty nor belief.

Break them from their borrowed burrow!

Banish them back to where beasts belong...

Beneath the boots of their betters."
Tina RSH Mar 2020
Words were worthless when our whimsical wishes got vanquished by distance, draining dreams of us together. Darling! We didn't dare draw an inch closer. Catastrophe came, crushing us to the core..covid! Covid! Consistent callous company for months on and on flying far in fantasy, fingers flailing and fumbling for a faint trace of reality in which you were absent, folly! The agony and ache in every atom ate away at me as acid on iron. Ah! La! Love again, loses my lavish language, leaving lips ludicrous, lying, loquacious and the tongue tied, terrified to tell the truth..Darling! Dare me to delude you for I am desperate to devour you in this dream; Delusion! Delusion! Bare bitter bold brutality crushing the dream, crashing hard in our core..covid! covid! Dear! despite it all, don't doubt the divine dream, don't doubt that I love..
This is almost a letter to my lover, but also a note to the whole world and particularly those having to suffer the forceful distance.

Gangly ghouls and ghastly ghosts.

Grimy goblins, gremlins gross.

A graphic, grizzly gallery

Of grim and gruesome, giggling glee.
Lee Carter Mar 2020
Shifting sands, shaped by surf and sea.

Sunlit shores shine and shimmer.

Sailing souls, slaves to siren song,

Suddenly sink and slumber silently.
Lee Carter Mar 2020
Placed on pristine pedestal.
Its posture proud,
Its presence phantasmic.
Its position?

Precarious.
