O’ my lord, Do you see
What my naked eyes see

Healthy bodies, shining faces
Glittering eyes, crooked smile
That’s how the rich look like

O’ my lord, Do you see
What my naked eyes see

Diseased bodies, pale faces
Wet eyes, no smile
That’s how the poor look like

O’ my lord, Do you see
What my naked eyes see

The empty stomach of poor
Keeps burning, turning into fumes
As it exhumes

O’ my lord, Do you see
What my naked eyes see

The filled stomach of rich
Keeps working, generating energy
As it digests and absorbs

O’ my lord, Do you see
What my naked eyes see

The rich utilize their energy
To exploit the poor
And to support capitalism

O’ my lord, Do you see
What my naked eyes see

That’s why, I declare war against you
I know, I will lose, I will die
But still I choose to revolt

Sorry Lord, But I Still Choose to Revolt

When I stepped into my room
My wife greeted me with a broom

I Said, Good Evening
My Lovely Sweet Wife

She Replied, Bad Evening
Don’t you remember my warning?

Again you came totally drunk
Your nose always looks like a trunk.
Just a Smile or a Laugh

Thank You to the judge
for his high self esteem
for his wonderful ego
which made him feel like a king

Thank You to the judge
for falling into the trap
laid by the cruel criminal
resulting in punishing the innocent

Thank You to the judge
who failed to differentiate between
right or wrong,  just and unjust
but still felt that justice has prevailed

Big Thank You to the judge
for his application of mind
and for the miscarriage of justice
which ruined the life of the innocent

No doubt the judge was honest
No doubt he was good
still unknowingly he became a shoulder
to hold the gun of the culprit.
This is how an honest person falls into a Trap.

I want to fly
In the blue sky

I don’t have Aeroplane
Nor have wings

I still choose to fly
Through my imagination

I bet I’ve experienced
Pleasant and happy journey

Much more than those
Who have wings or Aeroplane.
I Just want to Fly
Shiv Pratap Pal Mar 2018

When I was traveling in the train,
With no strain on my brain,
Only peeping through the window,
To have a look of nature.

The flying birds, the grazing cows,
The race of trees in opposite direction,
The green green fields, the great mountains,
Lovely ponds and walking rivers.

The muddy huts and the children playing,
That was all that I could see,
My soul went somewhere else,
And I was thinking, what is life?

The gift of God, or the curse of devil,
Life is to enjoy or to suffer,
Many answers floated in my mind,
But the journey finished with answers incomplete.

Thereafter, I bombarded this question,
to each and every person I met.
A philosopher told, Life is sorrow,
A Scientist told, it’s an invention.

It’s a game answered the player.
No, it is a play, told the actor.
I went to a sage to get the answer,
Devotion is life, I was told.

Life is an ambition and dream,
Answered rich and cultured youth,
But the other youth not agreed,
Because he believes, it’s struggle.

Life is a chance, said the gambler,
No, its dance of happiness and pain,
Answered the classical dancer,
No, Life is Renovation, told the Archeologist.

Life is knowledge, said the teacher.
Life is thought, said the thinker.
“Life is a matter of self realization”,
It cannot be defined, defined the absent minded professor.

I met a roadside preacher,
That’s poor little creature,
Totally filled with confusion,
Said, ‘Life is an illusion’.

I asked this question to the driver,
Who picks me daily for the school?
He said, Life is like a bus,
Running on the roads of time.

So many answers, all were right,
But all were somewhat incomplete.
So it was difficult to compile,
And get the answer as a whole.

I keep on thinking all the time,
Deriving the answers as solving equations.
At last, I concluded as a whole,
That Life is Hope and Hope is Life.
