As I slumber
I dream of how
It would've felt to
Hold you in my arms
The coolness of your skin
On my feverish flesh
The way our hands
Like yin and yang
Would entwine and dance
Around each other
Like ballerinas in Lincoln Centre
But how cold must you be
How sad must I be
To long for the
Gaze of your eyes
Into mine.
I wrote this last year, but I cannot yet remember who it was for.

Its not stupid. People are stuck settling and dreams they always had are never being fulfilled. What kind of life is that to live? Settling down when really all you want to do is travel for the rest of your life. So i heard you mention money was a problem. Find a way. Have a dream and follow it to the very ends of the earth.
Inspired by the book We Were Liars.

You
I know you
But I don't know
Who you are

I want to know.

I want to know
Everything about you
From your favorite color
To the things you only speak of
In the darkness of the night.

Now,
I only know
How your dimples
Brighten your face when
I make you smile and
Then your cheeks turn red
And you make me feel
Like a prince

But then I remember
You'd never let me know
You'd never let me see inside

It's just because I'm different
And you're not.

It's bothering me
That ticking on the wall
Can't you hear it
The more you focus
The louder it gets
Please, make it stop
So many other things
To be thinking about
That are all in the background
Because of this clock
The gears moving
Making me tick
I can't move, can't breathe
Can't do anything
Because that ticking on the wall
Will not stop
It only gets louder
The more you focus on it
Can't you hear it too?

Trapped in a body
That isn't mine
I don't recognize
Myself, anymore
Long hair- hate it
Make up- dread it
But still I dress up
Go along with the act
I can't tell anyone
Or my life will go
To shreds

All time stops
And I am floating
In everlasting dark
I am starting a series called Untitled Thoughts, which will be really short poems that I come up with in class. Enjoy!

That boy on the street is running away
He has a family waiting at home
You pull over the car on the highway
And talk to him, saying he cannot roam.

Mercy is telling him to stop running
Reminding him of his friends back in town
Those kids in school he'll never stop missing
His sister will cry if he's not around.

You introduce him to a simple prayer
One that shows him forgiveness at not cost
You say running away gets you nowhere
You've tried it before and only got lost.

Compelled to help the boy on the street
He happily goes home, not in defeat.
A poem written for the Respect Life Contest in my dioscese.
