I'm higher now because of you
& the lows subside because of you
My feelings are fresh, senses renewed
I woke up smiling because of you

Sunlight is brighter in these eyes
That have since been stolen within your gaze
Music is sweeter, the mundane is song
The air around is charged all day long

Nothing makes any more sense
But the unknown is no longer the enemy
It is an acquaintance of mine
I shake its hand with eagerness

I look to the stars
I confide in the darkness around
In whispering moonlight I hear your voice
I am filled with warmth

Wherever it comes from,
Wherever it's going
Is not for me to ascertain

I only wish to keep this warmth with me
As long as it sees fit to soothe

I only ask you to warm your hands
Interlocked within my own

I long only to learn how well they fit
In between spaces I can create for you

I want you to teach me,
I am willing to learn

You've got the biggest smile on your face but no light in your eyes.
Your ******* are over-exposed, and you're slightly less than flesh but much more than bone.
Nobody remembers you now except in black and white,
In headlines and articles; your existence summed up in a single sobriquet.
You're the Mona Lisa of tragedy, a painting created with camera flashes,
And your nakedness is clothed in speculation and mystery.
The scandal of an era; defamation and declarations of promiscuity,
Ripping away your personality, tearing off your integrity.
Left even less than the mess your artist carved you into
After the insatiable appetites of the vultures picked your image dry.
A mere carcass where once there was a body of hopes and dreams,
Posed to perfection; you're the model everyone imagines you to be.
Beauty personified, everyone is an admirer,
Everyone wants to take credit for creating a masterpiece,
Yet there is only one person that can take credit.
Only one person responsible for transforming you
From the ordinary beauty to the extraordinary artwork.
You were transcended into eternity.
Only your artist and his methods remain secret;
A sculptor, a painter with an eye for an eye-catcher.
You're the flower that was destined for fame,
Even if your petals had to be cut up first.
Black Dahlia. Old poem, but one of the very few poems that isn't about me, therefore I'm quite happy with it.
My adulations go out to
the women of the world
Those that play the role
of mother and of father
Those wonderful ladies
who are mothers to many
and yet have to children
of their own to speak of
They teach and nurture,
give their time and care
Always thinking of others
before themselves on so
many levels and still find
the time to prepare meals,
laundry and help with the
homework on minimal
sleep.  Great women who
impart out first lessons to
pass on to our children
She plays the roll of doctor,
psychologist and coach
Respect is not only due,
it's mandated as a true
TRIBUTE to all they do.
Tomorrow will be great
Tomorrow will be better
Tomorrow we will be together
Yet you should prove that
you don't feel alone

there's this recurring dream we had
moonlight was setting along the shore
I opened up these closet walls
and waves came crashing towards

the scribbling hands and empty palms
reaching for molecules of flesh
these tired eyes and great disguise
wishing for a single breath

I tell you time again that I'm wading
in an ocean you can't see
and they're threatening to drown me
though I'm only ankle deep
Be it ever so humble...
a case when size doesn't matter

Be it ever so comforting...
nothing like a stoked fire place

Be it ever so true...
keeper of all thoughts and secrets

Be it ever so loving...
family gatherings and holidays

... HOME.
Your fingers were digging for gold
Right between my legs
My eyes were looking for a feeling
Right upon your face
But I didn't need your to tell me
I knew I was already a gold mine
And you an emotionless digger

Sitting alone
in the Dark
can feel
so Bright!
