Our lives are just like books
Filled with numerous chapters
We may not like what’s inside
But turning the page and
Continuing the story
Is the only way to move on

Do not be sad
when time has betrayed you
because,
dogs have always danced
on the bodies of lions.

Do not think
their dance gives them power,
for dogs stay dogs
and lions stay lions.

Lions die
out of hunger
while dogs eat
lavish meat.

Those ignorant
sleep on silk
while the wise
sleep on dirt.

Yet,
in the end
dogs stay dogs
and lions stay lions.

And if you're ever
       feeling lonely
      Just look at the
             moon
          someone,
         somewhere
is looking right at it too

i wonder
if i could make you happy
if i was able to hold happiness
firmly in my hands.

if you could reach for it
like a mother reaching
for a newborn child
like an addict reaching
for another drink.

i wonder
if that would make me happier
aswell.
