Once, there was a fisherman
Who didn’t think he was good enough.
So when he finally caught a fish,
He worried too much and fumbled around
Until he accidentally dropped it
Back into the sea.

The fisherman felt ashamed
That he couldn’t catch his first fish,
So he decided to never go fishing again;
He was full of doubt and regret.

Don’t be like the fisherman;
There are plenty more fish in the sea.

Slowly, I slipped it in.
The letter fell softly to the bottom of the letter box;
This is my only chance
To break these cursed locks.
So that maybe one day I can get her glance.

Because one man died
You can live again.
Are you living in peace?
With power so great, it must be that
God is by your side.
Nothing can escape his love.
Will you bear your cross?
Stop all the evil within
You.

What sad sorrow one can bring
As paper is spoiled by the ink
From a pen whose forgotten name is
Loosely engraved on.

What deep despair one may have
As their blood pours gently down the sink.
When a blade goes across the skin to slash,
Only then, does one truly start to think.

Where was youth?
Maybe hated it
Didn't want it
Couldn't care for it
Doubted it
Wouldn't trust it
Disposed of it
But later
Longed for it
Missed it
Waited until realised

Had lost it
Then moved on from it
Soon didn't recognise it
And went back
To despise it.
Where was youth?

Ten years ago,
We could not see ahead of us.
Ten years from now,
We still cannot see whatever
Lies ahead.
As age affects earth and skin,
The months turn to weeks
And the hours pass at a blink of an eye.
Yesterday was nothing like today
But there is no knowing what
Lies ahead.

Whenever I am asked, "Are you okay?"
I reply with, "No"
Because lies destroy lives.
I may not be okay, but I'm okay with that.
It's part of me,
And it will be like that forever, for everybody
Because that is how we are.
