One
It was one summer
With many goals
One summer that allowed me to figure it all out
In one moment I realized what I want to do for sure
But in one moment I also realized I missed you
Yet in the next
I realized that I am one person that doesn't need you
And that I am one person that can change the world
All it took was one summer

Ruthie
She felt his words enter her soul
As he traced every inch of her skin.
'beautiful' he whispered delicately.
She drifted in and out of realities and daydreams,
Consciousness and unconsciousness.
He stayed gazing at her pure beauty.
Her body was made for his eyes.
Her lips were made for his lips.
A perfect fit.
They lay there for the day.
Talking.
Laughing.
Crying.
They learned each others secrets.
They opened up their pasts.
They planned a future together.
And after all this they fell asleep.

She woke in the morning with a sickening feeling in her gut.
He was gone.
She was too terrified to roll over.
To see the indent of him on those sheets.
She feared that she'd suffocate on the oxygen he'd used up the night before.

She reached one arm cautiously over to the other side of the bed.
Felt his wonderful skin
Laying next to her.
She let out a sigh of relief.
He meant it.
He did.
He meant every word.

He woke with a sleepy gaze.
'beautiful'
He whispered as he kissed her forehead.
Inhaled her scent.
And for the first time in a long time.
This broken hearted train wreck really did feel....
Beautiful.

started
her lips tasted like strawberry chapstick
mine bare
her breath hitched, almost like a choke for help
confused
as the zip slide down, i gasped
a princess
standing in front of me was grace
freedom
her hair wriggling from my fingers like fish stuck in nets
panting
sweaty skin and senisitive bones, soft lips
grasping
sheer happiness, our bodies melted to one
gracefully
a princess no more, my voice crowned you
golden queen
her commands are mine to take, she called for me
unraveled
in roses, we smelled the graves that our mother dug
resting
in roses, she will sleep next to me, until eternity.
Lord
i have
faith
in thee
when ships
we sail
through warm
bright sea
to fill
thy soul
shall
comfort me
a lady be

You sit beside me on the train,
Your hand reaches for mine as I feel your soft touch against my pale rough skin,
I look into your mesmerizing eyes and tell you that you are beautiful,
You chuckle as your cheeks glow bright pink,
People stare at me,
But no one seems to notice you,

I hold your hand as we stroll through the park,
Your innocent smile sending me into a daze of emotions,
Lighting a fire in my heart that burns full of passion and love,
The warm touch of your skin against mine,
And yet,
I still feel the cool summer's breeze blowing against my fingers,

After dinner we wander aimlessly enjoying each others presence,
Joke after joke,
Laugh after laugh,
We soon find ourselves at the front of my door,
I love you I say as I move closer towards you,
Your tender lips touch mine,
But I don't feel anything,

I wake up to you gazing into my eyes,
Your silky brown hair flowing elegantly with the calm breeze,
I look deep into your eyes,
Entrapped in a everlasting trance,
A tear rolls down my cheek,
The alarm clock buzzes,
The tune ringing in my ears until finally snapping me out of it,

After getting dressed into my black suit,
I slowly trudge towards the door,
The sunlight shines onto my skin,
But not warming it,
Only making it colder,
I enter the car to find a picture of you and I at our wedding,

As I start up the car engine,
Tears uncontrollably escape my eyes,
I reverse the car out of the driveway,

With my soul filled with darkness,
My heart full of sadness,
My body aching of pain,

I drive off to

I would like to dedicate this poem to Elise Law. The idea came to me during a long shower, which became even longer as I came up with more ideas for the poem. I hope you guys can appreciate it.
