The Vulture

Ciel Noir
The vulture is a peaceful bird
She watches, circles patiently
Waiting for life to become death
So she can gather what she needs

The vulture does not maim or slay
And causes neither harm nor strife
She walks in the shadow of death
And so turns death back into life

My Shadow

My shadow is a friend that merely never ages
His life an open book with at least 60 pages
No hurt no pain no wrinkles on his face
Never out line and always in his place
He's never had to love... disappointment not at hand
Opinions he has not but will always make a stand
The sun the moon can help him cast a glow
Not a worry in the world regret he does not know
Money's not a factor for this he does not care
No matter what I say or do he'll always be right there
So when the day arrives and go to greet the sun
If he is not beside you, you know your time is done

Dying

I'll find no solace
in your arms tonight,
no mercy in your soul

Take flight, my heart
depart my chest
pain me never more

I'll find it hard
to trust again, to want
no alternate will do

Broken dreams
and unkept lust
won't warm my sheets tonight

At last i find
no home is mine
no feeling I belong

Swan songs' played
footlights fade
I'll star in this life no more
This was written 4/21/13. About the death of a relationship.

Julie Mullins
I'm a writer.
I'm supposed to know how to
Chew words up and
Spit them out.
I'm supposed to
Make them float with the clouds
And sit on the horizon with the sunset.
I'm supposed to
Make them run miles
And give them sunburns
While they swim in circles
On the beach of my mind.

Grown enough for nicotine
Adult enough to be a feen

Yet too young for THC
Or to pour myself a drink?

Mature enough for a felony
The system to take life from me

Still youth is used against me
Seems it doesn’t matter what I think..

She Writes
Do not misinterpret my silence
As an absence of fortitude
I choose to raise my pen
Instead of my voice
Your spoken words
Will fade with time
My words will remain
Ink stained imprints on your mind
Long after I’m forgotten

Dream
In my blood
 Jun 2018 mel
Dream
Its in my blood
In my veins
In my brain

Feels good to feel insane
Feels good to feel laughter
For once.

Its in my heart.

Those pills i once popped.
Those who i once trusted,betrayed.
Couldn't pay em bills
Couldn't feel sane again.
Didn't wanna repeat the same mistakes as those who couldn't get home before 1.

Mama told me i wasnt made for that life. I begged to differ.
Now im indifferent.
Couldn't tell who was better.
The society i was being dragged into or the family who said they would stay.

Liquor drowned me
People crowded me
Knowledge left my senses.

let me grow among the wildflowers
let me bust through the pavement
and grow wherever i so please
set my soul free
release me from this world
where society
                           magazines
                                                and tv
tell you who to be
how you should look
how you should speak
is this really the life you want to lead?
where you are a walking copy
a construction of society
being fed opinions
                                   dreams
                                                 and fantasies
strip your face of make-up
and burn the magazine
escape the cage you live in
become the song bird you were meant to be
set yourself free
go sit among the wildflowers
and see how good different can be
