the laws of physics, meet the laws of human nature

spinning plates
are always white unblemished so their breaking into pieces
is more visually enthralling and definite

been a spinner magico for so long, you’d think I deserve some
gravitational dispensation

it doesn’t work that way

when you learn to be a spinner, they teach catching too

but that was so long ago,
tho the endless spin slowing,
obedient to the laws of physics,
the human laws of the physical
give time power over gravity

making the eyes weaker
the hands tremulous
the arms woodenly worth less

so a crash is a forethought, imagined, inevitable

time is the most powerful force in the universe

the laws of physics, meet the laws of human nature
how does one describe a slow dying
I felt like Santa last night
Creeping through the house
Printing out the poem I wrote
Setting up the gift on the counter
In the middle of the night as my husband was sleeping
Only thing that wasn’t there was milk and cookies haha
to my husband surprise, he saw the gift when he woke up
He said Happy Anniversary baby I love you
Then he says “I got nothing for you”
Baby, it’s not about getting me anything because 9 years ago today, you gave me your heart....

Do you ever feel
Like
   you
      might
         be
            falling?
Do you ever think
                            That
                         you
                     won't
                   be
             able
          to
      get
  back
up?
Fight that feeling

I forgot that I’ve
completely forgotten your voice...
I blocked your sound out
not by necessity, but choice.

Apologies must be much too hard
for my hindsight to be this clear.
I see you— now lit by my distant sanity
and despondent dreer.
Idk this is about an ex-friend that I caused the ending of our friendship and I feel bad about it basically every day **** it’s been 7 months
