Silence

...
The music of silence,
Is one you'll never forget.
Not even the power of science,
Can explain why we never get enough,
Of this wondrous sound.

keep talking
keep remembering
say the names
of the ones
who fought
with paper and pen
say the names
of those who protested
say the names
of the ones who
were tortured
the ones whose deaths
were written out and fabricated for them
the ones who
were taken from their families
never to be found or buried
say the names
of the ones whose futures
and lives
were taken away
under the rule of a dictator
who got away with it.

no,
we won't let it all fall
into their bloodied hands.
we won't let them rewrite
our history for their pride;
say the names
of the ones lost, the ones who fought
until our voices are loud enough
and our words are visible
in the name of justice.

we will keep remembering,
we will never forget.
Marcos is not a hero. Marcos is not a hero. Marcos is not a hero.

Ako'y natataranta,
Sa tuwing nakikita ka.
Ako'y nadadapa,
Kapag tinititigan kita.

Mainit pa sa kape,
Ang pag-ibig ko sayo.
Kasing layo ng Antlantika,
Ang pagtangi ko.

Sana'y iyong mapansin,
Ang wagas kong pagtingin,
Nang mabuksan mo na rin,
Ang pag-ibig kong malalim pa sa bangin.

Tinitigan kita,
Mula ulo hanggang paa.
Sinulyapan mo ako,
Ng kakaibang pagnanasa.

Dumapo ang iyong kamay,
Sa aking katawa'y nananalaytay.
Nang labi ko'y dumantay,
Muntik ka nang mahimatay.

Mapusok, umaalab, nag-aapoy.
Bawat damdam'y hindi nagpaliguy-ligoy.
Ninamnam ang panandaliang kuryenteng dumaloy,
Hanggang sa tuluyan nang naglaro ng apoy.

You need not fear the night
And its sky dipped in darkness
For there still exists the light
Poked through the cloaked canvas

Little pinholes of stars to see through
And touch what still remains;
A shine of something hopeful
No matter how far away

Sadness is worn in many shades
Fringed at the edges, rough to the touch
This is the brand everyone hates to love
I model misery with a sickly laugh,
While my eyes imitate what I've seen of the dark.

The suffocation of sorrow
The throb of numbness replacing your heart's job
And filling your veins with lead
I wear fabrics of sharp prickly thorns
And the mocking costume of a smile,
While my eyes imitate the dead.
don't know what to call this

we are old buildings
covered in the scent
of abandonment
but once we were loved
and someone cared enough
not to let the dust settle

Again

My Night was dark.
All i can see is You and Me,
dancing under the Palm Three.
Thinking about You and I are meant to be.
But a bright light came,
And a voice said
"Here you are Dreaming again!"
When will I be dreaming about you again.

You come and you go,
repetitive dream motions
driving a picture of
your face
into my little mouse heart.

Apparition of sleepless nights,
you smile- drop your bags
on my bedroom floor.
I nursed your broken bones
and kissed your fingertips,
crushing the passage of
time in my small hands
like so many impatiens.

And then came the storm clouds,
and you traveling north-
leaving no trace
of what once was;

only memories
like ashes
dissolving
in the rain.
