the bantering of rain
the insinuation it might snow
the mirage of moonglade
the mountain drink
the desert thirst

everything
resolves with flowers

a withered realm
a crestfallen kingdom
their copper queen withdrawing
from the bitter harvest
in the spirit of Persephone

everything
dissolves into flowers

Now is the hour
Of Hibernation

Rest grey muzzle soft
Into rotting bole

Living on belly-fat
Of Summer

Snorting Sleep
It's -35 degrees where I am,
Snowing blizzards that block up roads,
Grumbling adults surround me,
I marvel at their ignorance as they say,
"surely...not another snow day,"
It's so strange, surreal - surely they can see...?
I see a planet defiant in the face of the parasite called humanity.
I am always elated when the snow comes.
To me it's a reminder that we aren't completely hopeless...though we will be if we don't change. Even with the threat of annexation and tariffs (guess where I'm from!), the part I'm most scared about is Trump withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement which is basically guaranteed unless he somehow forgets.

The moon rose up
and the moon looked down
She’s watched the Earth
spin round and round

And kingdoms rose
and empires fell
The moon just waxed
and waned a spell

Her one bright eye
has seen it all —
she’ll still be there
long after we fall

All I want is a bridge to the clouds
so I could climb up, high and away,
to loose myself from gravity’s bounds
and float above humanity’s frays.

Let my mind be a kite to catch the wind
and pull me up to the light above,
freed from the weight that kept me pinned
instead of gliding like a carefree dove.

You read my poetry,
then turned away,
as if the words
had nothing to say.
Each line was a pulse,
it was a part of me,
yet you drift on past,
too blind to see
that my verses ache,
hoping to be heard,
yet silence lingers,
louder than each word.
The ink may fade,
but my feelings remain,
as I laid my heart bare,
was it all in vain?
