She was wild like skinny dipping at midnight, stars watching overhead and falling in love with moonlight. The way it lay upon her skin made the ocean envious of her depths within and sometimes between us. She was my sister, not in blood but in orbit. A Venus to my Earth, forged from the same collapsing star and if the universe was in fact to be infinite then this moment would happen again, and again, and again an immeasurable number of times. I found comfort in this thought, knowing though our existence was meaningless, it was still full of feeling, and this feeling, right now, it insisted on existing forever.
It’s a funny thing
How two hearts can intertwine,
Even under the strangest of circumstances.
Bonds have a way of forming
Right before your eyes,
Yet just beyond your view.
It’s not until you close your eyes
To the world around you,
And take a step back,
That you realize
What a beautiful thing you have,
Growing in the palm of your hand.
It’s like a little light
Shining in between your fingers,
Filling your soul with warmth,
Making your heart smile.
And it’s then when you learn
That the most precious things in life
Are those seen with the heart.
It's a daunting task to fix yourself.
It's like trying to clean a toddler's room,
Or raking leaves on a windy day.
It's an endless task,
Cause it's never just one thing—
When it rains, it pours.
Be kind to others,
Work hard at school.
Love your father,
Always say your prayers.
Don't be so depressed,
Don't be such a dork.
Try to be more friendly,
Try to make new friends.
You've got to lose those extra pounds.
Oh, but please don't starve yourself!
Control your thoughts,
Control your words.
Be responsible,
And be mature.
Make sure you get enough sleep,
But you can't sleep the day away.
Be an example for all to see—
You never know who's watching.
I can't do this all at once!
For a while I've had thoughts and feelings,
Floating around in my mind;
Emotions I've tried to grasp,
Words I've tried to form.
But I can't quite seem to spin my thoughts of straw
Into words of gold.
How do I tell you that I love
The way you make me smile?
If I only knew how,
Then I would tell you
How much you mean to me.
I'd show you the light
You bring into my life,
Like the warm glow of a candle.
Or the stars that aligned
And caused our paths to cross.
If I ever got the chance,
I'd thank you for being the kind of person
That makes me want to be,
A better me than I am right now.

Let me go for a gleeful ride on the rainbow
Or sit on the moon to watch the stars put up a show
Put on my wings and light up the night with fireflies
Or just calming the earth as the wind in disguise

Sometimes it seems to me that all I do is dream
Try as hard as I might by any ways and means
Please don't force me to face reality
When all I want to do in life is take the time to dream

Be it floating on the clouds admiring the beautiful sight
Or dancing with my love in the snow showers
Little fairies hold buckets to collect my tears at night
While I dip into a pool filled with my favorite flowers

Because to me inside a dream is like a playful tune
That I love to sing by any means letting the dreams loose
From the middle of the imagined to the very edge of time
A steady stream I hope to dream forever in my mind

Strolling through a delicious tunnel of sweetness
Savoring the generous free flow of chocolate fall
The trees humming melodies, they leave me speechless
As curly vines of mixed berries crawl up the wall

Using life as the reflection inside of my dream scape
Moving further in the direction of the dream for the dreams sake
Where in time I hope to find what all along I have believed
That the dream I'm in at this moment is in fact my reality

I realized you were a small town man;
That you'd be more satisfied with being a comfortable failure than having to work for success.
You'd rather become your parents
Unstable:
Mentally
Financially
Romantically,
And unimpactful on this Earth's humanity.

I was a world traveler.
In need of constant
Change
Challenge
Risk
And movement.
I need a constant toiling in my mind
A constant pressure to move
A constant reminder that my next step could change the world
A constant potential for improvement

I realized you were content with what you knew
And my passion for learning was unappeaseable by your stagnant mind

I remember the books you wouldn't read
The songs you wouldn't sing
The explorations on which you refused to accompany me
The worlds you wouldn't see

And I now know that meant you would never last next to me
It's not your fault you couldn't keep up
Or mine I couldn't slow down
We can blame each other
My lack of satisfaction
Your lack of motivation
Psychology
Economics
Chemistry
Chance
God
Karma
Fate
All these reasons
But none are real
Truthfully, we were just not meant to be

With each other we were not free
With your annoyance at my distance and my anger at your dissonance
Far corners of the earth you were not meant to see

I know now that my craving for motion
My roller coaster emotion
Is too fast paced
For someone like you
And to drag you behind me would be a waste
As we are not amazed by the same things, we do not have the same taste

It is possible that I'll never find someone
That worships this world as I do
and craves these things next to me
But at least alone I won't hurt anyone with my motion
