The way you smiled at me
almost had me believe
that I mattered
again

Sometimes I wonder...

   if you and I...

     would be comfortable...

       being alone....

         while just sitting....

          near each other...

            breathing easy...

             slow....

              no destination....

                listening to the silence...

             in between the sounds...

           of our hearts beating...

         a solitary pair...

       alone together...

     no love to feed...

   no human needs...

  two players...

on a single stage...

no winds of worry...

   no words of rage...

     no climbing hope...

       just sand slipping...

        starlight fading...

          dimming into darkness....

         wondering...

       why...

     are...

   we...

  all...

so...

comfortable...

  being . .

       alone.

one night
the other day

one dark
the other light

one cold
the other warm

.the sun & the moon fell in love.

they couldn't kiss
nor meet

they couldn't touch
nor speak

they peeked at each other
from a distance, so havoc won't wreak

they lived for a promise
that when life decides to compromise

.they too shall meet.

for the first time
and last

while stars conspire
and worlds collide

.they lived apart only to die together.

Bricks are purchased
That build houses
That turn into homes
That create memories
That turn into people
That turn into stories
That turn into legends
That change history
And it all started with
Just. One. Brick.
Sometimes it's tough when you are just laying bricks to see the end picture, but it makes a difference in the end! It can be so easy at times to feel like we aren't doing enough to help others or to grow ourselves, but one ripple affects the entire pond.
I was almost holding your hand,
I was almost looking into your eyes,
as you caught a glimpse of mine,
and timidly looked away,
the wind dancing in your hair,
the ocean waves carrying with them sweet melodies,
their choruses echoing in my eardrums.
In that moment
I almost pressed my lips against your own.
I could almost feel my heart beating again,
with a reverberating thump
I could almost feel like there was life
once again flowing through my veins.
I almost mustered up the courage
to tell you everything that was welling up inside of me,
brimming under the surface like an active volcano,
or an earthquake,
ready to release itself upon the earth in a violent frenzy.
I almost told you
that you embodied everything I was looking for
but could never find the words to express.

I almost told you that I loved you,
but almost was never quite enough.
