And maybe in the end-
We are all superheroes.
Each of us with a tragic back story
Specific sets of attributes
Some of us fly
Some of us read minds
And maybe some of us-
Are stronger than others,
We all have potential.
I believe the only difference
Between us all is-
**Who will stand up,
And fight?

We are told from a young age to be yourself
But as we get older, we are pressured into being that one person everyone wants.
That girlfriend.
That best friend.
That sister.
That daughter.
That adult.
That mom.
The truth is, everyone wants u to be that person that ur not.
You must come to a senses with yourself that You have a limited time on this earth whether u like or not.
And you must spend that time being u, whether they like it or not.
Those who mind, don’t matter
Those who matter, don’t mind.
You must be yourself, before you run out of time.
(Sorry about the grammar, just typing this up real quick)

Everyone I know is crazy,
except those in the hospitals.
The insane haven't lost their ****** minds,
they've found it.

If you can't understand this,
perhaps you're considered 'sane,'
by the 'sane,' when really,
you're blinded by society's plague.

Open your mind to insanity !
You have much to learn.
The world around us is a lie.
If you can't comprehend that,

open your  **eyes

Four years spent here
Four summers at band camp
Memories to last a lifetime
Long hot practices
Hearing ‘Love ya mean it’ daily

Supporting the football team all season
Friday nights at Wildcat Stadium
Sometimes followed by competition the next day
Late nights and early mornings become routine

Long bus rides to competitions
Coming home on a win
Loud roll calls in your ear
But still loving it

Last band camp, last premier show, last football game, last marching practice, last competition, last band bus ride, last competition
Last festival, last concert practice, last concert, last band banquet
Not ready to leave

Never thought you would make it this far
Never thought graduation would be around the corner
Never thought about leaving the band room for the last time as a student
Never thought about last field show or game/competition
Would ever come up

Seniors to be dearly missed
Can’t believe this time is here
To say goodbye
To graduate and move on

Don’t want to leave high school band
Don’t want to leave a family of supporters
But know we will always be here for you

Love ya Seniors
I wrote this for the seniors in my band that are graduating this year!

Do all high schoolers go home
And cry themselves to sleep
Before realizing
That they still have homework

Is it normal
To do more homework, extra curricular
    activities, and clubs
Then have a social life
And care for the people you love

Is it ok
To develop higher anxiety levels
Because your expectations are set too high
And you have to be in the top 10% at least

Is it all right
To have a fake smile, and a fake laugh
Because you don't want people to know how
     hurt you are
Or how tired and achy your body is

And I bet it's fine
To not have any breaks
Unless you procrastinate that huge project
     worth 40% of your grade
Or the mountains of homework inscripted in
     your soul

And I guess it perfectly ordinary
To not feel like you can go to anyone
Because after saying it's ok and that they will
     always be there for you
They will explain how much more they want
     out of you

Or am I the exception
The exception to the happy, normal life
Where everyone gets sleep and is joyful
Where people have time and friends instead
     of homework and stress

I'm so tired of this exception to the good life
I'm so tired

jace
it's okay
even though you feel like the bones in your hands are breaking from holding onto everything for so long
and your head is aching from being wrapped around the things it shouldn't have to understand
it's normal
and don't worry about the bags under your eyes or how your ribs have been showing through your shirt
that's just a part of being a teen
your sleeping schedule doesn't matter as long as your school calendar is full
and who cares if you can't find it in you to smile, there's plenty of time for that after college
you'll be fine
and don't pay attention to that heart problem you've been having, you can't afford to miss first period again
how would it look if you failed comp 1?
don't forget to volunteer, but make sure you do your homework
give your all in class, give your all to your coach, give your all to your family, give your all to God, give your all to yourself
spread yourself out as far as possible, but make sure to hold everything in
you'll figure it out
because it's normal and okay and fine to **** yourself while setting yourself up for life
don't think about it too much
it's not that hard
just let go
but hold on
and change the world, but don't get too ahead of yourself
make the team, make the grades, make up work, make friends, make your life
but break yourself in the process

I know exactly how it feels
trust me on this one when I say,
I know how long the wait is
waiting for everyone to go to sleep
waiting to be alone
so you can fall apart and
put down the fake smile
let the tears stream down your face
I know how that pain feels
knowing that it’s all your own fault
I know how it feels
to be tired all the time
the endless tiredness
no amount of sleep is enough
I know how it feels
to keep lying and trying
I know how tiring it gets
and how tiring it is to keep
breathing
