a brief passing glance
i ignore my pounding heart
since he would as well.

but his eyes twinkle
and he will not ever know
how i long for him

though i've given it
more than a passing thought, i
know- he loves me not.

for you

I know it's hard to touch the clouds
when memories
hold you down
I know you cry a lot inside
when no one is
around
I know it is hard to wake up
sometimes
when breathing cuts so deep.

and the birds, they sing
but
you cannot hear
and the sun, it shines
but
you cannot see
and there's a lot of warmth around
but
you cannot feel.

I know it feels so hard
to live
with so many scars

but

light will shine and you will
see
and birds will sing and
you will hear

It's just a dark path
you have to walk
and I will be there
to walk along
don't hold your breath
don't give up yet
just
keep your hope
and you'll find one day
that you can fly again
for you deserve
the highest clouds
the purest air
the deepest love.

and I'll be here for you,
you, dear soul,
the sweetest lyric
of them all.
for lyric, <3

freedom can be bare feet
or naked
or laughter
freedom can be poetry

how do I write about the beauty of the world
when barefoot people pass before my window
in search of shelter

how do I share my pleasure of the birds' sweet song at dawn
when I see faces etched with panic
from the deafening blast of bombs

how to rejoice in love and friendship
when meeting people who could barely save their lives
after burying their loved ones

how can I write with passion of the kindness of the human heart
when I see thousands fleeing from the ruins of their homes
only to face police   walls   barbed wire

true words are hard to find
as said a poet of an older war

when it is a lie to speak
    a lie to keep silent

not easy
The poet from which my last two lines come: John Balaban, Vietnam War veteran:
“A poet had better keep his mouth shut,” he writes in “Saying Good-by to Mr. and Mrs. My, Saigon, 1972”:
unless he’s found words to comfort and teach.
Today, comfort and teaching themselves deceive
and it takes cruelty to make any friends
when it is a lie to speak, a lie to keep silent.

Like an airplane I take off into
The most beautiful horizon.

The worst way to lose somebody is to be, in his heart, ordinary; to be his luxury turned duty.

And the things he do, he does them to keep up with you, but not anymore to keep you.

This is when you'll know you've lost him. This is when it will hurt. But only until this you'll know you've loved deeply.

Your lips would blister with prayers for his return, but no poetry in the world could touch his soul and guide him back to your arms--

none unless the words are yours.*

P.S. *You'll only truly lose him when you start to think that maybe after all, you've never truly loved him. And that is also when you'll lose yourself-- to your own make-believe.
Unsent Letters would now be my series.

Years have flown by and time has taken its toll. Many have been the sorrows and lessons learned. Now when things seem bleak, fruit from seed sewn has begun to be harvested. For on the journey of trial, many a soul has been rescued and many a wanderer has been shown the right path. The stranger has been comforted and wounds have been healed. Though there have been set backs and people have fallen by the wayside, those who have been found and helped have made the trip worth while. In the grand scheme of all things, we are but a small part of a play. So we must endure the journey to reach our destination, what ever that may one day be.

the universe birthed you,
you were crafted from the very building blocks of life.
your hair, streaked by the moon and your skin, pigmented by the sun
constellations were loaded in your eyes and the energy of the world in your fingertips
the galaxies fuel your everlasting soul and the trees bask in the light from your illuminating mind
your thoughts are fractals and fragments of comets from far away
and your body, the gegenschein in the dark matter that’s unseen each and every day
the bang that’s said to have begun creation was the pitter-patter of your heart
because my darling—you were the start.
i know sometimes you feel like a dying star,
but my love words cannot tell you how beautiful you are.
and i do know that this isn’t much, but i do hope it’ll make you feel somewhat better—and such because you are the cosmos, the universe, and all that is within it.
