I’ve heard it said
That we’re all made from star dust
The remains of stars
Long since dead
While poetic,
There are some roots in science

Hydrogen and Iron
Elements formed within the core of a star
Or During a Supernova
Make up our earth
And can be found within us
(Our blood has a good amount of iron In it,
After all)

We breath in air
That has been around since the dawn of time
In and out
Shakespeare breathed out air that was recycled

I like to believe
I may be breathing in the same particles
Once touched by Shakespeare or Monet
Einstein or Pythagoras
Great minds, great people

Nikola Tesla left his mark not only in inventions
But by touching the land
Though,
Perhaps I’d rather not connect myself with him

Afterall,
He did love a pigeon
like he literally once said he loved one of them the way a man loves a woman.
Thats a bit weird.

Know that my heart beats for you...
Every crank of the wheel, turn of dials...
Leading to my every breath and every sigh
Wishing every moment would stay a while...

Unaware of themselves hard at work,
The cogs in my mind are constantly spinning...
The gears in my head are lodged in place...
Cogs and gears like clockwork, carelessly turning...

Like a factory of sorts,
They keep churning out ideas.
Conceived notions that only had been
Spawned by my mind's nucleus...

Blinking lights signalling ways,
And means to sweep you into the air,
Then leave you lofted for second....
Without a trace of fear or care.

At that moment, what I'd give to just admire...
You floating against a backdrop of stars.
An image frozen in infinite.
An image free from blemishes or scars.

Then when gravity claims you back,
You'd fall the most graceful of falls...
A fall in the slowest of motion.
A fall led by my loving calls.

Fear not darling for my arms would be there...
To catch you and hold you close in a tight embrace.
Cheek to cheek, chest to chest... You'd then know that,
Cogs and gears spin only for you in this very same place...
Haven't written about love in a while.

There are so many things that I didn't know,
Things that I don't even want to know about.

Because most of things I knew,
I wish I didn't know.

Within a room somewhere
Sits Pandora
Holding the box that
She opened long ago
When her heart was curious and naive

Now her heart is heavy
And tears fill her eyes
Hope is weak
Hope is shriveling
If only she hadn’t
Set loose the monsters

She wishes people
Saw hope
The way she does
Leaking out slowly
Filling the air
Pulsating, Shaking
Glowing

Maybe if they understood
They would hold on
Just a little longer
For their monsters
To die

Because in the end
The hero always wins
You just need to be there
To See it

Ugly

She felt ugly, from the inside and out
Her stomach never small enough to satisfy oneself
She turned to her side, and cried while staring at the mirror
The reflection that shown back at her, made her feel insecure
She said she wasn't hungry, as she began to starve herself
The craving that built up inside, did anything but help
The bones began to show, and her frown began to widen
Her grotesque sticklike figure, began to leave her frightened
Finally she realized, she was beautiful before
As her sticklike figure faded, and she began to eat once more
The beauty of self image is represented in this poem, through the insecurity of  your average girl. Now I wanted to write about this, because it's so common nowadays for girls to be insecure with themsellves. To be unhappy with how they look no matter how beautiful they really are. And i'm here to tell you, that if you think your ugly, then you need to think again, because you are beautiful no matter what size, shape, color, etc you are. You are perfect in your own way. :)

In my closet lie my secrets
Shackled in shame, as they huddle in the darkness
Fearful of being spilt out for the rest of the world to see
Yet silent and unwavering, as they force courage upon themselves
Hopeful that they may remain hidden in the cobwebs which hang inside
But knowing that one day they may somehow be released
Forced to leave their prison of safety, as the truth is revealed
As the skeletons spill from the darkness
And the secrets from my past come back to haunt me
I don't really know how to explain this, other than by just saying that everyone needs to be honest. But don't just be honest with yourself. Be honest with your friends, family, and everyone you care about. Hope you guys like this poem. If you do please follow, and click the like button. Thank you guys. :)

Look at us, black, white, and all colors alike
Sitting around, and thinking of life
The beautiful colors, and when they'll all fade
The day we fall into a slumber, from which we won't awake
We'll slip and we'll fall, we will rest alone
Surrounded by a world unknown
Silent as the past now fades
Brings you down, as you cry and ache
Do give up, please let go
For those colors will soon fade, I know.

Yet if somehow you do awaken
Don't be surprised to see the world mistaken
Broken down and rearranged
The people in it, now deranged
the colors once so bright and bold
Have faded out, and remain no more
The beauty of it all is gone
You realize you don't belong
But don't give up, or walk away
For the colors will return one day
This began as a simple poem I was writing for english class, and turned into something more for me. It is explaining suiccide, overdosing, and depression. It is talking about how at first everything is so amazing, and beautiful in life, however that thought of giving up is always lingers in your mind. For some it's very powerful, causing them to over time, become weaker and fall apart more and more until they are unable to continue. Pushed to the brink, and near the end. Then it goes on to say that when you're at your lowest, you need to think about the light at the end of the tunnel. And some of you might say it's not there, but i'm telling you; If it's not there yet, it will be soon. You just need to hold on to see it.
