Odd Odyssey Poet
As I,
Once lived;
On great mountains;
Making not a piece of sound.
And    in    my    dying   moments,
I lay silent in a bed of pretty flowers.
I’m crushed, with my skin of shaded brown,
Now  a part of the Earth' ground as it  erodes.
In the wind, I whisper whisperings of my time,
A  forgotten  season lost in winter,  and  life.
In  a  forest  filled  to  the  brim  of  dreams,
Parked       underneath        the       shade,
Once      guarded,        and      unafraid.
And          what           a         shame,
Soon      I’ll      be      gone
With     the     wind,
Forgotten

I
saw
a weep-
ing willow
with dried tears—
perhaps it learned to
hold hands with its fears.
I wonder if its roots are still
tangled in self-pity, if it realizes
what a waste it is to not notice its
own beauty. I know its branches
of hope will forever climb up the
sky, for it is a strong warrior
whose spirit will never,
ever die.

Sadly, I've forgotten the melody

I
may
play the
joker, *****
the knave, covet
the queen, and tuck
the ace of spades under my
pillow on a ringed moon night,
but I am forever shuffling the same
deck of cards. Marked cards, imprinted
with loss and patterned with misfortune. Co
urt cards dressed in ill-fitting suits, each face as
familiar as my own. Four seasons, four pips; twelve
months, twelve crowns. One card for each week of the
year. Sequentially pred  ictable, and as underwhelming
as a rigged roulette wheel. U ntil, unable to distinguish
between the red and the    b    lack, the picture and the
plain, I fold. Void of      co     ntracts, and bleeding
widowe                            d blanks.
.....So.....
deal me in,
but deal me unpainted
and unmastered. Deal me clean.

‘If I can just have one last cut.
Do you have a plan for the new?‘

A fine play
of the
clay
soft
and sift
moistened
turns malleable
gathered and made
to spin on a slow wheel
formed with shaping hands
baked at a high temperature
comes out a beautiful craft
and both of 'em are ready
an urn from the pottery
and  the  poetry!!

Another shape poem......trying the analogy between poems and vases
